  • Gotta read the books again!

  • this compeletely made my day..

  • Reminiscent of Buglarian orthodox, and so, so beautiful. It gives the epic such a different light.

  • Tolkien made this in the style of an OE elegy. Surprisingly, this interpretation is absolutely great for me, even as it isn't in a wannabe-Old Germanic style. I like The Tolkien Ensemble even more than the music of Howard Shore (which is brilliant).

  • Hey look, five people who thought this was somehow related to Twilight didn't like it.

  • amazing. its almost a bit haunting!! Absolutley love it!

  • Red fell the dew in, Rammas Echor!...It is really mystic and great....

  • I just fell in love with this song, can't stop listening to it... Thanks for making this vid and sharing the music! it's so touching

  • This is beautiful. << Music and Video.

    Theoden was a great King.

  • I think what made the Battle of the Pelennor Fields so great was that each side had a bunch of diversity in their army. Gondor had Imrahil, Forlong, Hirluin, and all the other captains each with their own different type of soldiers along with Rohan. Mordor had the Haradrim, Easterlings, Variags, Orcs, and those "Troll-men" with the red tongues and white eyes. I think that is whatmade the battle so epic!

  • @daleksith The only part that really bugs me is that it is a really long, epic battle, until the undead come and kill everyone in about 2 or 3 minutes. It just isn't a fair ending to such an incredible war scene.

  • @gnrfan11 You got that right. They could have handled it better.

  • @gnrfan11 If your speaking of the film, you have to consider there is a time limit.

  • @gnrfan11 I completely agree! Especially since in the book the Dead Army never arrived at Minas Tirith, they helped out at the harbour where lots of Gondorians were freed. But PJ cut the Northern Rangers out as well which was a real shame too, I like them so much!

  • @gnrfan11 You need to read the books bro! The army of the dead is not even in the books! Aragorn actually returns with a host of men from southern Gondor to rescue Minas Tirith. There is actually a good battle if you read the books!

  • "Red-fell-the-dew-in-Ram-mas Ec-hor" maybe it's my imagination but the intonation in the song sounds like a horse at the canter.

  • I had the same impression. I think the idea of the arrangement was the same.

  • Interesting I never noticed that until you said it!

  • Very moving... Especially in combination with the muted battle, 5 stars!

  • From which tolkien´s books is this song?

  • The Return of the King, at the last part of the chapter "The Battle of the Pelennor Fields".

  • I think it is from RotKm but I don't know that is it the same song as in book=)

  • @EllethwenEldarwen

Same text, yes :) It's the Rohirric elegy at the end of "The Battle of the Pelennor Fields".

  • beautiful song, but also beautiful video. Well done

  • I've been to "Pellenor Fields" in NZ, just standing there ringed by mountains and the sloping yellow grass hills is quite spiritual...it must have been so amazing to see 300 horses or so thundering across the plains, apparently the locals could feel it all the way in town in Twizel.

  • Thank you for sharing!! Really amazing. 5 *

  • Excellent accompaniment to this wonderful song; well done.

  • Absolutely brilliant: the music and video both.

  • I'm writing a novel (don't make fun of me please) and write a lot of it while listening to music. I find it very inspiring. Particularly this piece. I just gotta watch myself not getting too uninspired and copywriting stuff. I've been ace so far and look forward to hours of listening to this piece. Ace :)

  • Good luck with that and may you have inspiration. I hope I will get to read it one day...

  • that's great, i like to draw and music always inspiring me :) maybe you will give us something to read when you finish it :D

  • This is quite good. Closer to my taste in music than the other selections from the Tolkien Ensemble. I much prefer the more folky compositions based on Tolkien poems.

  • wonderful, where can i buy te cd of the tolkien esemble???

  • Beautiful. Good use of movie footage to echo the lyrics and the tone in the song.

  • awesome!

  • lol technically true.

  • All hail Theoden King!!!!

  • red fell the dew in rammas echor
