  • awwww :) nice to see a horse being happy most of the time its then being hurt or killed :(

  • Happy horse ! X)

  • OMG!! I was akllmost aboud to cry! :'-) I love to see wen a horse loves life!! :-)

  • wish we can all be this happy

  • that's one HAPPY horse in a field!

But what dit his leg think about all of this?

  • What a beautiful and happy horse! LOVE your video! You look like you take great care of him. :)

  • I can't help wondering if he's just trying to get rid of that strapped-on blanket.

  • he looks so happy to be free. whoo hoo. go charlie !!!

  • He looks so happy to finally be out in a field! I would have done everything pretty much exactly the same as you did and I have been working with and training horses for the better part of 13 years. He is a good looking boy! Congrats on that! Thanks for posting this, it made me smile this morning!

  • That's one happy horse!

  • he is enjoying himself lol ignore the mean people he is not kicking close enough to the fence to get hurt he is going a little distance from the fence then kicking and i would be the same excact way fyi he is gorgeous

  • I am really sorry that in your description you had to explain yourself. people are so stupid with their mean comments... well, not stupid, but IGNORANT. Very cute horse, and you did the right thing following vets orders for box rest!

  • Haha talk about a happy horse!!! <3

  • Awwww.. love this video. Love to ride but haven't in a very long time. Have to ride a friends horse or go to a place where I pay to ride a horse. The latter is not as much fun as you never know what horse you will get. I usually get one that is very slow. lol. I prefer spunky horses. Don't understand why people have to make critical comments about the care etc. You have done well by him and your vet was right on. Charlie is happy for sure. Good luck in your shows with him. He is beautiful.

  • Wow, Charlie sure expresses his joy well! He looks very happy.

Isn't it funny how those with no horse experience like to tell good horse owners such as yourself that they are "abusing" their horse?

  • I love this video, made me smile:-) ignore what everyone else is saying, he is your horse and you are obviously doing what you think is right for him, which is most likely the best thing for him!

  • I love this! He looks so freaking happy, like HOORAY... I'M FREEE

  • haha bless him looks like he is having a great time ! defo one hell of an impressive buck GO CHARLIE! cute horse btw

  • your clearly a good horse owner as you've put brushing boots on him when turning out in the field-you clearly don't want him to get injured and he looks very happy :)

  • Cute! Its good to see him working his muscles!

  • mais si non belle vidéo

  • cette vidéo ne t'appartient pas ! t'aurais pas parlé en anglais

  • must have felt good to feel his muscles again.

  • Haha it's a good thing he doesn't buck like that when you're on him!

  • awwhh, he's so cute and Happy :) Good to see that :)

  • HAHAHAHA, happy horse <3

  • this is fine if you dont want to answer this question but , Why was he in Box rest ?? x , He just looks so great for a little kid when not hyper x

  • love this, i LOVE watching horses show pure happiness like this, its the funniest most beautify thing in the world, beautiful horse :)

  • Hey, Charlie looks amazing! I have seen your other videos, you look great on him! Where abputs in the UK do you live?! I live in Cambridge :D He looks so happy to be in the field again :P xx

  • Wonderful video, wonderful horse, you're obviously doing what you know is right for YOUR horse. Try not to give those critics the time of day. I think it's so much BS when a commentor has "just a thought" or "just saying". Stop thinking and stop saying, some of you didn't even read the parts that explain why Charley was boxed, how he was walked daily, etc. Just enjoy the video - or not. Give positive feedback or go to another video.

  • @UNCLEWOOZY4PRE Thanks so much! :)

  • Such a great video and a great horse. Even if knew zip about horses, I couldn't see myself thinking anything other than this horse is having a ball and it's a lucky owner to have one with such spunk & vitality.

  • happy bucking horse. cuteness!!!

  • HAPPY HORSE :D I LOOOOVVVEEE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • someone is having a little too much fun hehe

  • That is one happy horse, I say ;b

  • One of the horses at my barn had to stay up for rest from founding, and after months of care by his loving owner (she rocks, lot of patience), he got out and became just as wild :D

  • aw, he was clearly very happy to stretch his legs again! awesome vid =)

  • Mine does this so agressiveley he hurts his steifel's and is very sore the next few day's.

Hard to stop them when they are feeling good.

  • I cracked up. At the beginning he's acting like a foal whose never touched grass. He must feel great after raunning and (trying) to be foallike again . Its like a broken leg your frustrated cause you cant move it. Well he's happy to be out and to be able to be hyper

  • Ignore the ignorants who don't know what they are talking about. And besides EVERY horse is different and they don't know yours! Good to see how happy he is after his box rest - lovely boy :)

  • Awww he is so cute he looks sooo happy love the video he is gorgeous :-)

  • wow he has a 1 of a kind lope ;)

  • Now THAT!!! Is one happy horse!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) My horse does the same thing once she gets to go out when the pasture isnt flooded lol

  • what a dork!!! LOL!!!!!! I love the song you chose too! beautiful place also!

  • Love this video :) absalutely gorgeous horse :) i dont know why people are saying that its cruel to have a rug on Charlie its clearly not considering the weather looked cold in the video and you know whats best for your horse...i keep a rug on my horse all year round, unless its absalutely boiling out because i know whats best for my horse and its what he needs :) great horse and great video :) very well looked after and loved horse :)

  • Shit! He has a Bucking high kick!) Ha ha i made a good joke!!) XD

  • Charlie is obviously a well loved and well cared for animal. And soooo happy to have gotten out of the box at last! Great video!

  • Gorg horse!

  • if that horse could talk!!! he be saying get this *& Off me!!!! and let me roll!!!!

  • @cometazo kid get ur mum to read the description

  • Hes adorable...looks like hes really happy to be back out! we have a horse at our yard (poor souls only rising 2!) on box rest for at least 3months with a fractured leg...i dare say he'll be pretty much the same his first day back out! lol and like yours, im sure he'll have a rug on (he'll be back out march/april time at the earliest, and i live in scotland!) im glad you got your point across :D quite right!! its so nice seein a horse so happy to be out and having fun :D xx

  • The horse is not crazy, it's just happy and have a lot off energy! ♥

  • he is soooooooo super happy he is a cute horse too! :)

  • This is adorable! One thing I have learned being a horse person myself is that EVERYONE has their opinion of how to do this or that better. You obviously take very good care of your horse and he is just so excited to be outside playing. Very cute!

  • I loved this video, reminds me of my horse when he's been inside for a show for just a few days. :) And I LOVE the blazed face, he truly is gorgeous.

Also, I don't know who in the world would say putting a rug on a horse is cruel or wrong though. I think Charlie looks like a perfectly happy horse enjoying the pasture...

  • Comment removed

  • you shouldn't have put the song over it. i love the sounds horses make when they're happy to be able to stretch their legs

  • hello birds!! hello sky!! hellooo treees!!

  • uahsahshausuasuahsuhsa

    how cute!!

he was just happy to be out again!!!

    LOVE HORSES!!!! ♥

    kkkkkkk

  • Hermoso caballo. se ve que es sano y retoza de contento

  • This is a normal response and with the usual safety precautions, any horse who can be turned out is going to show delight at being able to be free again. He is actually very cute and so happy to be out that he will throw some bucks. Anyone who loves horses loves to see them have fun and act like its a party.

  • FreedomfreedomfreedomFREEDOM.

Love it when a horsie's so obviously happy to be outside.

  • My horse did that too when I first got her

  • It look's like he is trying to kick the blanket off from the way it's tied around his back leg's

  • @bealestbluesss hardly...it's just a standard rambo rug with a tail strap. It's not tied around the horse's legs, it loops frmo either side of the rug and under the tail in a straight line. It's a normal horse happy to be out in the field. Pretty much every horse I know has a bucking frenzy when first turned out after being in for a while, rugged or otherwise.

  • @helenkr Thank you for enlightening me I have no business giving my opinion I know nothing about..but those horse's are mighty beautiful,

  • @bealestbluesss I thought your opinion was dead on. That blanket was confining the horse's new found freedom and it would have preferred those rear ties not be slapping his hind legs.

  • @340PD Are you kidding me? It's douchebags like you who forced me to write the ridiculously long description, and why I am considering disabling comments for this video. Don't tell me your bloody opinion unless you have read my description and have something that genuinely challenges my horsecare methods. Aside from that, please refrain from commenting as it is beyond irritating and just makes you look stupid.

  • @340PD Well with the lack of knowledge I have caring for horses... if I would that horse I would want the blanket of that's how I came to my opinion. It just seems uncomfortable,

  • @340PD I'm with those who obviously think you know this horse better than his owner does. You must have spoken to Charley in order to state: ...it would have preferred those rear ties not be slapping his hind legs." Do you even know how tough a horse's hide is or how thick those ties aren't? Apparently not. I loved the video and thought that Charley surely is having a grand time and must be a real character.

  • @helenkr Oh, thank you for setting me straight. I have no horse sense what so ever...

  • i love that horse he has so much energy and playful you have an amazing horse :)

  • Lovley crazy horseie haha:) please may i use his in one of my videos?

  • @alicehorselover Thanks :) I'd rather you didn't use it, please. Sorry

  • Awww...this just goes to show that all horses should be turned out, never stuck up in a stall 24/7 (unless it was due to a medical problem, like his)

  • Cute horse :) reminds me of my horse. Although I have to add, that stall rest isn't the best for healing an injury. Horses need constant locomotion, forage, and friends to be happy horses, and will actually heal faster if placed out at pasture with a few calm friends :) Just a helpful hint. And no I didn't just hear this somewhere, I am taking a University course on equine behaviour and welfare. So next time maybe try what I suggested and you should see a much quicker recovery.

  • @equineheartandsoul Thanks - yeah we usually wouldn't put him on box rest (because we know what he's like afterwards, hence the video!) but it was on the vet's orders that we kept him in. He was on some prescribed meds for the injury and our VET told us to keep him in. Like I said, we kept him walking around so he didn't stiffen up, and his stable is right next to his best friend's stable, so he wasn't lonely or at any point stressed by being kept in.

  • @macnchaz Always good to follow vets orders, butttttttt, the professor of the course im taking as an equine behaviourist, AND a vet. In the words of Dr. Sid Gustafson, "Horses evolved to heal in natural settings with a herd where they never run out of forage, friends, or locomotion.

Certain issues require stall rest to stabilize certain conditions, but this should only be for very short periods of time.Pick the pasture and pasture mates carefully, and watch the healing begin." Just a thought :)

  • @equineheartandsoul Unlike you, I'm a 17 year old girl and I'm not currently taking a course in equine behaviour and welfare, so I always follow the orders of my qualified and very good vet. It was quite a serious leg injury that needed box rest- it needed stitches which certainly would have been ripped out if I'd turned him out with his friends. I see where you're coming from but my situation is different so please don't tell me what YOU think I should have done, it's not really for you to say.

  • @macnchaz No no no no don't get me wrong, it was merely a suggestion to possibly consider for the future, and I'm only a year older than you. Didn't mean to come across that way, was just some food for thought is all. My apologies.

  • @equineheartandsoul No worries. It's always interesting to hear another way of doing things that I haven't heard of before :) it's just I am constantly bombarded with so much "advise" on how to look after Charlie on this video that I am always on the defense. On this occasion, leaving him out wouldn't have worked, but thanks anyway :) good luck with your course!

  • @macnchaz hahaha nothing pisses me off more than someone telling me what i should do with MY HORSE... I totally see where youre comin from... os my horse is named charlie too! and hes chestnut with a stripe! :D

  • @equineheartandsoul He said she said that he said that horses evolved in bla bla bla.. Horses in the wild get eaten if they're lame and cant run. This guy was under box resting instructions from a vet. Sometimes it's necessary! There are so many ''HORSE CRUELTY'' videos on here. Go post on one of them with your opinion and leave macnchaz to follow the instructions of a qualified vet.

  • @tractorsrock it was a suggestion for future references, and yes I know that sometimes it is necessary, but stall rest should be limited as much as possible, mind you, in an ideal world, horses shouldn't be kept in a stall at all. It is against everything they know. And the man who said this is a highly qualified vet, fyi. I'm not trying to start a pointless youtube comment war, IT WAS A SUGGESTION, some food for thought. No need to get you're nickers in a twist.

  • @equineheartandsoul Yeah of course - clearly she will follow some random strangers advice on youtube instead of her vet who has assessed & probably knows Charlie. Also as it was winter time if he rolled chances are the cut would get full of mud and become worse even if it had a bandage on it could come loose. And you are so patronizing its unbelievable. She isn't 6.

  • hahhaa :) aww bless him xx good luck riding that! lol x

  • He looks so very happy to be out. Love the music too. The original of this song is by one of my favourite bands The Primitives.

  • Charlie is sure having tons of fun! I'd do the same if I was stuck inside for a long while :)

  • He looks like he's having an absolute ball! He such a beautiful horse too! My yearling (nearly 2) year old is currently on box rest so it will be interesting when he is allowed out again!! xx

  • i knew u lived in england i could tell

  • He really just looks like he needs a good hoon and seems to be loving it! After I ride I let my boy off in the arena to have a roll and occasionally (though not to this extent!) he'll decide to race up and down with lots of bucking just for the hell of it. Some horses love it, and Charlie has a good reason to really want one! You obviously love him a lot and make the right decisions about what is best for your horse, as it should be! And by the way, I don't think rolling is boring to watch. :D

  • Oh that just brightened my day seeing a horse have so much fun. My owns quite boring, even after a few days being in. I can't believe people would coment that about him.

however i can see some of their views, maybe putting a little bit of him rolling would have made them realise ho stupid they are to think that the rug is causeing him to buck. After all i don't believe a rug causes my horse to rear.

He's a lovely horse and looks like he has fabulouse paces

  • Oh. My. God. He looks EXACTLY like mine....

  • hehe hes so bucking happi XP

  • lol hes so cute ^^ and it looks gorgeous where you are :D what country is that? :)

  • hey nice horse and i am sorry you had to put up such a long description for the benefit of the armchair horse trainers out there. Also, I am too lazy to read through all the comments but who on earth said it is wrong to throw a blanket on a horse ????

Charlie, btw, is bucking cool :D ... he is obviously having a ton of fun .... good for him.... it is lovely to see a horse so happy

  • oh and btw, i do have one question : did he throw a shoe at the end of this :D ? I have had a few horses that I have thrown out after a few months in the stall (recovering from surgery, abscess etc) and I almost ALWAYS have had them throw a shoe (or TWO !!). Oh and for the people who think this is cruel, every single horse I threw out in the paddock acted like this or worse, I once had a two year old (NOT bred a jumper) jump right clear the fence because of all the fun he was having...

  • @nairnave Thank you haha! Quite a few people mentioned that they thought rugging him was the root of the problem and that it was 'wrong' etc - I was completely baffled when I read the comments because I have NEVER thought of rugging as cruel! We think it's cruel when non-native ponies are NOT rugged! They just don't know Charlie or his boisterous and energetic personality, and you know how equestrian youtubers just love to impart their 'wisdom'... ;) thanks so much for your comment! :D

  • I want to show this to the girls who ride at my barn so bad! They're always like, "my horse is bucking!" when the horse's back hoofs come maybe 2 inches off the ground lol.

  • What a fun video....anyone who thinks Charlie is in pain, or obstructed by the turnout blanket and hence the reason for bucking and rearing, doesn't know how to read a horses' body language and signs. In the stills that are on there, you can clearly see that the blanket is crossed appropriately...I live where it's cold too....and it's inhumane to turn a horse out that has a temperature constant barn into subfreezing temps without one. Any critiques you've recieved are uninformed, ignorant ones!

  • @MrVaalium Thank you!!!!! My thoughts exactly :) thanks!

  • This is just a small concern of mine, nothing nasty, sorry if it comes accross that way, that is not at all how i intended it to be.

If he had been on box rest for 2 months then surely it was a bad injury, so would it not have been best to let him onto the grass slowly and perhads semi sedate him the first time only so that he didnt go damage whatever it was that he hurt?

    just a thought

  • PLEASE READ BEFORE COMMENTING SOMETHING NASTY!

  • My horse bolts round the field, but never seen a horse as crazy as this.

    OMG SO CUTE!!! =D

  • awwwww what a cute horse!!!!!!! this is not coco its abby, i am a huge horse lover!!!!! he looks happy 2 get outta stall rest please keeps posting videos

  • so cute she so gorgeos

  • He's just so precious :) Like a kid at Christmastime.

  • good thing you werent on him lol

  • aww he was having a good time i am like tht after i am sick well not excactly like tht but if i am inside for a while like when i am ho,e sick and i just luv to run around or especially if i hav been in a car for a day

  • Haha!My dogs name is charlie!

  • Awwww he looks soooo happy to be back outside!

  • awww.. he is soo happy to be out in the feild !! sorry if you have got critque from people they probably jelous because your horse is so cute !!

  • well...ya think he's happy?? lol

  • The horses at my barn all wear blankets when it's cold and the horses who have been clipped even wear hoods on top of that. I don't understand why someone would even think that it's cruel for someone to put a blanket on a horse. How about we put you outside in -30 degree weather and say you'll adapt to it? Yes, wild horses were fine with colder weather, but that's because they were born and raised in the wild, the majority of our horses were born and raised in an enclosed environment. :)end rant

  • @modernxxinsanity Yes. Years ago in very cold wet weather my mare threw her rug. When I came down and first noticed it had gone she was sheltering behind a hedge and never came to me. I found the rug which was damaged so I took it away and returned with a spare dry one. As I appeared in the field with the folded rug in my arms she came straight to me - in even worse rain as it happens - and stood quietly whilst I fitted it on her. No one can tell me that horse didn't want its rug.

  • He's a pretty boy! Love when my mare does this when turned out it's fun to see them "feelin good"

  • So cute! It looks like he saying "I feel GOOD!" I love when horses run around, buck, and play in their pastures

  • Haha that's awesome! He looks like a very happy guy :)

  • the only reason that he is kicking is cos hes so happy.

i feel so happy for him and you.

    also, cool video!

  • He looks so happy!

  • happy for him :)

  • good video

  • Some people are idiots *rolls eyes*. I think the one thing putting off getting my own horse is that people will always try and tell you they know better when in reality they really don't. Very cute horse :) Looks like he's having a great time.

  • LOVE the video! He looks like he is having so much fun!

  • Oh what a happy horse that feels good!!!!! Beautiful guy!!! Mine do that during cold weather too even when they havent been put in a stall!!!!

  • I only can see that he is happy to be outside :D

  • sorry you had to make that stupid description! i live in Canada and the horses at my barn are almost ALL rugged/blanketed.. that is just silly that people have found a stupid thing like that to critique.. anyways you're lucky! Charlie is ADORABLE and is obviously just a lively horse! WHAT A CUTIE!! :)

  • @xxShayEMxx Thank you! :)

  • @macnchaz :)

  • @macnchaz oh and may i ask what the song is? i really like it! :P

  • someones a happy horsey

  • oh bless him love it when u see them doing this, its the same as when u let a dog or puppy outside in the garden and they just go a little nuts because of all the excitement :P he is adorable lovely looking horse as well :) xx

  • your sure it just dosn't like the blaket

  • my horse was in a sling for 3 months after a leg injury... we have a great clip of him like this also! It's so awesome to see them like this after any kind of injury!

  • My horse does this all the time and we havve checked her back and everything and she is absolutley fine she is just high spirited!!! When i go to feed her she gallops and bucks to the bottom of the field to get her friend then they both race up to the top!! I think its very nice and very good for them to do this as it is a way of excersise :) Love the horse Charlie!!

  • whats wrong with a horses blanket? absolutely nothing. We use them for warming purposes and so that way their hair doesnt get super long and hairy.

  • Now thats a happy pony! lol

  • Hahaha! ;D

Well At Least u know he is Happy ^_^

  • I see absolutely nothing wrong with this video! I've had to keep sick & injured horses stalled for long lengths of time & yes you do put sheets & blankets on them, especially when they are running fevers themselves. Would they let their child go without a blanket when they have a fever? So glad to see the wraps on & his legs protected. Anyone who makes a negative remark isn't a true horseman. I've been working with, raising, showing, training, breeding, etc. horses for over 45 years. Ignore 'em!

  • Hah, he looked like he was having so much fun! My horse sprained a ligament in his right front pastern about 4 months ago and he is such a slow healer. He's still limping at the trot, but he gets to do hour long walks with an ever increasing amount of trotting in straight lines in hand. He's being so good about behaving, but I can't wait until he gets to buck and run around like this again. He loved his turnouts, and it's been months since he's gotten to blow off steam. My poor boy.

  • awww that's soooo cute! beautiful horse and I really hope his leg wasn't too bad during the box rest, I know it can be hell for horses(: I love to see horses with so much energy:D xx

  • what a happy horsey!!! when i first got my horse she acted in a similar way but probs cause of the new surroundings. its good that your horse is better.

  • Thats one happy Horse! You can tell by his ears, if he wasnt happy his ears would be straight back, if you knew anything about horses you know how to read them! All of mine do that on a nice warm day after winter, its funny to watch!

  • Been there done that. He was sooooo happy glad he healed up so well. Still have my old guy retired 3 dy eventor who is happy at the age of 24

  • love to watch your horse's joy.

  • People can be so ridiculous, I am sorry you had ANY negative comments...Looks Like Charlie is Feeling Some Well Deserevd Oats....Good for him and You!

  • A mare at my barn did the same thing after being kept inside all summer due to ingury. they look so funny and odd when they buck!

  • lol if i didn't know better from your description i would say your charlie was a fruit loop lol and shouldn't ever be ridden but i can see he's so happy to be out of that box :) I'm glad his leg is all healed up best wishes for the future with this fellow :)

  • awe he looks like hes hving so much fun and is so happy to be out :D

  • He's so happy! That's so cute!!!!!!

  • Ha ha that song is in mr's beans holiday xD nice video btw, i love all your videos! Maybe you can check out mine? Thanks :)

  • HAPPY PONAYY!!!! :)

  • awww i am so glad he is ok now<3 he is so cute<3

  • He's So Crazy Hahahahahaha I love this <33 It lokks like hes doing handstands !!!

  • I recognize that happiness, my pony also had an injury and she went craaaazy when she finally got out in the big field ;) He looks like he's having a blast! :D

  • awwwwwwww!!!! he looks sooooo happy!!! Hes like, 'OMGosh!!!! I can't believe that im out of that stall!!! I'm free!!"

  • cute horse! :) looks like he's havin fun

  • It's good that he gets it out of his system.

    He is beautiful!

  • He looks like he is having the best time!!! Glad he all sound for you again!

  • what a beautiful horse! :)

  • Woooo!!! What a buck!!! XD

  • it is a rabbit hihihi

  • Anyone who thinks rugging is cruel obviously doesn't understand how to care for a horse properly? or have rugged there horse inappropriately causing it to act like that....but if it was cruel, I'm sure animal protection would have done something about it by now haha! I used to have a horse that did the same thing everytime he was out in a field :L so funny to watch when he was 24 years old and acting like a foal :p xx

  • @UtterNutter123 Lol the oldies are the bestest :) my fella's 20 years young and still throws in a buck everynow and then. And when I'm watching him be a dork in the paddock he'll rear full height and start hooning hahaha :)

  • @PixieChick911 Oldies are 100% the best :) and it is nice when they are getting on and still bonkers! haha x

  • Super cute horse! :D He looks super happy to be out.

  • I think it's sad that people have given you so much nonsense that you had to elaborate to such an extent in your video description. It's obvious from watching the video that it's a horse letting off some steam. The cold weather, coupled with being off on stall rest, made him frisky. Sorry you had to tolerate people's foolishness for posting a fun video!

  • @dragonfly1030 Thank you, finally someone with a tiny bit of horsesense! :)

  • @macnchaz i agree!! As i was reading your description was thinking: "What is even going through those peoples heads?!?! I would never turn my horse out from late october through till march with a blanket!" (i live in Canada) Very cute horse btw :)

  • @TheMagoo12

It's not a blanket it's a rug and it's a very sensible thing to do
