Yo poppin' fresh took this battle! I dance with him alot and i saw Haji at a competition. Haji's good but fresh is amazing sometimes! Check out a kinda new vid under ment2move's vids!
I have been hearing this term musicality more and more. What is meant by it. A lot of you say that Haji has more musicality. I would appreciate if someone would be more specific so I can get a handle on what this term is referencing.
from what i know musicality is how well you know songs and how u execute your dance with it. funk music has been around for over 30 years. so there are alot of songs. so the more you know the more credit you get when you dance to it. im still learning as much songs as i can. and learning i dont mean from 0:00 till the end. but the parts that i can recognize. That answer anything ?
Musicality in dance is basicly the way a dancer embodies the music with movements. This does not mean that there is only one way to move to a certain beat, rythm, string of sounds for that mather or whatever. A dancer is totally free in body movement as long if it relates to the music in one way or another. Musicality comes from feeling(which results from bodily training)in which a dancer is able to express their body skills. A good dancer is able to find balance between movements and musicality
Although Haji had better musicality on some rounds he only showed 1 style! And no, youtube does no justice to Fresh...how can u see hitting and tuts from the back? Ha-ji was shown in full and also dancing behind the DJ!! Look at your opponent & give respect to him doing his dance when u battle. Those of you hating on Popnfresh...call him out next time! He won't deny you...PROPS TO ALL POPPERS IN THE COMPETITION.
LMAO! All you youngsters should learn more styles of poppin' before you can comment and also in order to get respect as a dancer. Boogaloo is a style, however, it's not the ONLY style so get creative. If you knew all the styles u would know that those were not TRICKS but they were STYLES being used as transitions.
Definitely- hands down for PopNFresh with tricks. However as the issue is, I credit Ha-ji- hands down w/ musicality and dancing, and I still stand by this. 1st two rounds I thought it went to Ha-ji, but tiebreaker Fresh earned it back and took it. BUT regardless, recognize this battle as an example when: TWO DIFFERENT dancers clash with different emphasis on dance and tricks.
Haha-okay. TO BE CLEAR ON THINGS: PopNFresh did NOT do exactly the "same" thing over and over again. As much as I love my crew [Ai], PopNFresh's dance is his own dance. From round to round- he varied his tricks, his styles- he battled progressively. Though similar to previous rounds, it's his dance period. So on this, I agree w/ Tron on how PopNFresh proved a broader vocabulary of styles b/c he did.
i mean this will all respect but this was also an unfair judgment by burstrock, he should stick by his rule wen he said 2 ROUNDS clearly, within those 2 rounds haj most defiantly one, AND since poppin fresh wouldn't take no for an answer he gave him 1 tie breaker.after dat wen it was all said and done..poppin fresh STILL kept going? wat is dat..wats da use of rules and winning fairly if u gunna break it..no hating juss positive criticism.
BurstRock was not judging the event. It is also common place to have a tie breaker if the judge feels that it is necessary. Every OG I talked to agreed that PopNFresh took the battle.
Concerning PopNFresh's round with DFunk? I check your claim about him doing the exact same thing in every battle. In Dfunk's battle he came out pantomiming someone driving a vehicle, then he ticked and tutted. With Haji he came out with a cane and strutted. So in each battle different moves were done.
lemme put my 3 cents in cuzz ellatron put 2..haha.. respect goes to both dancers they both did their thing but for those of you who were not there at the competition poppin fresh literally did the same exact tricks within the same exact order as his previous rounds..go check out his round against dfunk..you'll be surprised at what similar moves he did.haj is smooth boogaloo and beatrideing..and yess BOTH wer hitting..if u wenrt there don say nutin bout dat cuz they were.
Respect to both dancers, but youtube does no justice to Poppin Fresh's hitting and ticking. That fool is unreal. Anyone who says he's not hitting is BS.
My break goes like this. Both were on beat but PoPnFresh gave more to the battle in the number of styles he presented. Waveing, Tutting, Strutting were the main ones that I saw. Haj would bust some good moves every now and then but in between busts he would just dance around. Most of the OG's that were present agreed that PoPnFresh took the battle.I personally Money B beat Haj in the previous battle.
yo that was a sick battle... pretty close even though it was different styles/approaches...but...overall...I think the dude cheering in the background wins...
are you kidding... poppin fresh no hate on him but he was off beat he was sloppy at every style he was doin and HE DID THE WORM.......seriously ? the worm...
"the same yea the worm so what ? the worm has been done and can be done by any average goofy high school kid. its a joke."
yeah and SO HAS THE ROBOT but all of us poppers still love and respect the robot.
who cares if he did the worm or not. personally i think it's a goofy move too but it has it's place. don't hate completely because he did one move, that's what i'm trying to tell you.
he was hitting you just need to train your eyes... and was poppin fresh hittin ? the dude was more just dancing around and doing tricks then really hitting.
poppn fresh showed more styles n musicality dued strutted, tutted, ticked, groundmoves, animated tricks [on beat]floated, waved other brotha stuck to boogaloo. if this same battle was held in LA or some where else the battle might have went another way/winner. Pfresh showed more vocabulary.......ohh....Pfrsh did somthing other dued didn't do...HIT...peace 2 both but Pfresh handz down IMO.....TRON.....BATTERIES NOT INCLUDED
no disrespect to tron, but IMO Haj had more musicality and was on beat WAY MORE then popnfresh. Popnfresh's tricks were off beat and he repeated a lot. how was Haj not hitting? he was hittin beats...jam is over.. just wanted to put in my 2 cents...props to both for makin it in the finals. eLLATRON........ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
Hands down- Poppin Fresh!!! Props to both, but some of you commenters are straight up blind.

but fresh needs to hit more, and his filmore needs work.
but some ideas are good, for the style hes throwing out there...but! needs to listen to the music more..
haj, style looks just like acky so he needs to change it up...
you dont win battle by lookin like some one else...enough said.
both poppers needs hits/dime stops.
both poppers need to sit in the beat more..
