  • @2centthompson That was what I thought when I first started using the program... Within one day of watching tutorials (3d buzz and thenewboston) I had gotten most of the engine down

  • Some of you who asking for weapons in editor just go into view, world properties go to game type and set both none to UTgame :)

  • I'm having trouble finding the options for post process volume. I can't find it on any of the views.

  • @thebubba12100 select the volume and press F4, you can select it by clicking on the little binoculars at the top, and finding your post process volume in the list.

  • i made a terrain and tried to add water there. i got the water on the terrain and it goes over the edges of the terrain (i have a little ditch that has water). so the problem is this. if i choose terrain or the fluidinfluenceactor and try to add UTWaterVolume it just doesnt work, i cannot swim on it. what am i doing wrong? thx for advance.

  • @angeldj84 I'm no pro, but I'd think you only make the X or Y-side of the square a little longer, then do the same.

    that is a bit more complicated i think u have to make a animation where little balls act with the water

  • Hey, I have been playing around with the fluid surface actors for a little while now, and I can't figure out how to make it so that rigid bodies and other dynamic actors affect the fluid surface actor as well. The only forces that seem to cause any reaction in the fluid actor surface are the player and certain weapon projectiles...

  • Im having problems with the grid snap... im making a room and trying to subtract a hallway out of it so its even with the floor... its always a bit too high or low because of the grid snap... any tutorials or suggestions on aligning things up...

  • you can go to view then drag grid to change the amount you can drag your blocks.

  • @VerythOmega A suggestion is to really zoom in and then right click the cube icon on the left bar and experiment with different sizes. That's what I did. If you don't get it, send a message and I'll try to explain it better :/

  • your tutorials are helpful but REALLY hard to follow since its REALLY hard to see what you are doing you really got to work on more SHOWING so it is easier to follow since you do everything so fast and without a good explanation to what you are doing its hard to follow!

    /p.s do you know how to fix the thing when every item (Water houses) and such go invisible? cuz its really hard to do anything when its invisible

  • well my comp is weird for some reason and if i put anything above 360p it generally LAGS so i then have to wait bout 15 mins for the whole video to buffer b4 i can watch

  • @MonkiFuzzProductions If you you want Buildings and stuff to show if it is not when you put it on the map then just push "W" and it should show. Also "Q" makes the CSG visible and unvisible.

    u have to activate it and then u can click fluid survaces

    You accidently hit W without having the right mouse button hold in, It causes all meshes to turn hidden, Just hit W again and they should show.

  • All you have to do is drag the water material on to the water plain

  • I don't mean to use this video as some forum or something, cause the video helped a lot, but I made a material and I can't assign it to a fluid surface actor. I can assign it to a static mesh plane, but the texture only covers a small part of it in the middle. The rest is only affected by distortion, so it look like glass that doesn't reflect with a little square of sea in the middle.

    Any help, anyone?

  • if u want to see the blur effect instantly by going into the water u need to set the DOF interpolation duration to 0

    just as a tip for you guys

  • oh sure sorry my fault... click on the postprocess volume --> press f4 to open properties (or simple double click)

    open postproccessvolume -> settings --> the 2nd bold setting should be DOF_interpolation_duration.. here you go.. set it to 0 for instant blur effect

  • @TheOzdawg When you create your terrain, to add the river you'd like, use the heightmap, hold ctrl and right click to make your terrain go downwards. Make a little riverbed like this and flatten it out if you like, then you do exactly the same as this tutorial, but line it up with the edge of your river you created in the terrain editor. I hope you understood that ok :)
