So strangely disturbing, shocking but in some really creepy way also fascinating. It freaks the hell out of me in the one moment but in the other moment, I love it and can't stop listening.
In the actual book, there's a scene where they see a baby on a spit roast. I do respect Cormac Mcarthy for having the guts to write about this type of stuff.
@violetpurplerose the movie isn't really scary, it's more confronting than anything. The scene people are talking about in the meat cellar is probably the worst.
It's still a good movie though, you should watch it.
@FortitudeOfHeaven - Did you get number two from The Book of Eli? Great movie, but I wonder where this idea that they'd have some nervous system disease from eating too much human flesh comes from.
@FortitudeOfHeaven - Looked that up. Fascinating. Thanks. It often has a 14 year dormancy period... enough time to reproduce and kill a whole lot of people. Some with a genetic resistance to the disease have gone 40 years before showing symptoms.
This reminds me a lot of Hans Zimmer's theme for the Joker in the Dark Knight where simple string progressions gradually build up the tension and capture the disturbing nature of a character or a scene. I think both soundtracks were excellent and encompassed their respective moods well. Sometimes the simplest of sounds can leave a great impression.
This will very well happen when the world ends. We all resort to cannibalism and soon start human farming. Then civilization is then raised by cannibalism lol.
This scene was haunting in the book. Such inaction for so very long, and then this is thrust upon them. The way the people in the cellar were described with the minimal light and immediate panic is something amazing. Nick Cave and Warren Ellis are also the greatest soundtrack composers in my opinion. Song for Bob is brilliant music.
ive never really been scared during horror flicks, evil monsters, zombies, religious stuff. but this one really stuck with me, that house ill never unforget
This whole movie asks one question. Whats more important morality or survival? Brutal shit.

When the collapse comes, some tips to spot a cannibal.
1.They appear to be unusually well fed and have lost little to no body tone.
2.Uncontrollable shaking-a nervous sys. disease from eating human flesh.
3.Their home seems to be in good condition.
4. Usually well armed.
5. Telltale signs such as shallow graves/remains, sharp tools, cooking instruments, strange food or you do not know where and how it came from.
6. Inviting signs (nobody would share food with a stranger unless YOU are food).

@Gokunama It's a real neuro disease called Kuru, from a prion found in humans. Yeah it was inspired by Book of Eli.
In Fallout New Vegas, the Old Ben character also talks about a butcher selling strange meat and then the whole town began to have the shakes.

the way that the composer can creep you out without even knowing whats going on in the movie at the time is pure talent. this song is horrifying!

The most horrible of this movie is the fact that it will happend one day, not tomorrow or the next year but IT will happend
