No offense, as I truly do appreciate what paramedics do for us and everything. But why are they walking so casually to the woman? They said themself that they knew/thought that the woman was either seriously injured or dead... Just curious, and am in no way trying to diss them.
And his son is sooo cute! "He's a powr ranger!, aw :) So cute, and so true.
you say so... but the truth is, you don't know how you'll react before you're in it... i've seen rookie-firefighters, basicly shut down on the first real call, with all the training, they know what to do but know... some people just don't have it in them and it's nothing to be a shamed of, that's just the way we are... i'm just saying, in an emergency everybody want to do the right thing and we want to help, but when it's right there in front of us will we actually do it... we don't know
Sometimes I wonder if we all were in the same stiuation with these people, would we have gotten out of our cars to help that brave man trying to save this elderly woman?
its nice to see a happy ending.this show put a smile on my face. we all have so much to live for.and so little time to enjoy it. hey guys lets say a prayer and maybe if it happens again somewhere, we will have another happy ending.
Because she was knocked out @ when she came around, she was dazed @ not with it, like any person in an accident would be. They usually go "what just happened!"
She was rear ended. She suffered whiplash whish stunned her. she was unable to get out. This man saved her life. Hope you liked the info those of you who said the older lady is stupid. You try doing things when your dioriented.
wow..she's like I'm kinda grateful i gotta tell ya i'm kinda grateful. wow..dude almost died because i'm an idiot and couldn't think to open the door and get out when a freight train comes barrelling toward me. some people..geeze
People slow down. Don't speed. You should not be in a hurry. You cannot beat the train. We have problem in a society, where some people choose to do foolish things, and someone else suffers the consequences.
some stupid fucking old lady does a dick drviving move and sits on the fucking tracks when a training commings....thtas why old women shouldnt drive..........
Why didn't that fancy pants asshole get out and try to do something? Didn't want to get out of his car and get dirty? He just sits on his fancy ass and picks up his fancy car phone. Big deal. What a hero. People like him make me sick! "If someone would have tripped they would have been dead." Well if nobody did anything, the lady would have been dead, now wouldn't she?
That's a true sign that people don't seem to give a damn anymore. I feel like that somewhere along the line the need for people to give a damn stopped somewhere in time.
i have alot of respect for trains and i dont drive. i was with my parents one time and we crossed tranks i looked down the tracks and seen the white lights coming.. i said "Train".. So we went back and watch it, that BIG sucker had 4 engines pulling it and pulling almost 200 cars,
One very hard and painful lesson to be learned; always pay attention to the lights and gates when approaching a railroad crossing and never, ever even try to beat a train, for freight trains, especially fully loaded, have taken as long 12 to 15 city blocks (almost 2 miles) to come to a complete stop. Also, even an 18 wheeler does not stand a chance against a train crash, and neither does a bus.
You need to maintain enough following distance that you have time to stop if the car in front of you slams on its brakes. I believe you can get ticketed for improper braking if you just slam your brakes on randomly, but the victim who got rear-ended here was trying to stop for a train, so she had a legitimate reason. This was the driver in the rear's fault for following to closely and/or not paying attention.
She was out of it from the rear end hit the other car gave her. She was unconscious even though she was moving & looked awake, kind of like sleepwalking. She was out of it even though she was moving and her eyes were open. So it was like she was unconscious. She said she didn't remember anything till she saw his face at her car window. she was out of it from the rear end hit. Then she passed out completely after he got her out.
What a stupid laddy. She does not know she is on the train tracks and she does not even know how to stop for a train instead she goes right their in fronts and takes her time rolling down her window.
The woman should have thought a little better. She should have stopped as soon as she, at first, saw the red signal lights flashing and the gates about to come down at the rail crossing. The guy behind accidently rearended her, causing the vehicle onto the tracks. But the guy miraculously and barely saved her; getting her out of the car that was about to be wrecked. The woman had a neck injury, though. I bet the hero who saved her should be awarded with something very special.
listen to the man in the beginning, the one wearing the white shirt and black tie. He said he's not a morning kinda guy and he was snoozing on his way to work. LOL Snoozing? ? ? No wonder why he never got out and helped, he was to tired!
She wasn't unconsious but she got bumped pretty hard from the car behind her. She still could have been dazed or had whiplash and still been kind of "out of it".
She probably was unconscious, however it takes about 30 seconds to 2 minutes to regain consciousness. She was probably just regaining consciousness, when he came up to the car.
Most people don't realize how long it takes a train to stop. At 40 mph it takes about a mile. Trains are also moving much faster than they appear. So when that bell rings, STOP! If your car stalls on the tracks your on death's doorsteps. Even if you get out in plenty of time, you have a totaled vehicle.
My great uncle was 19 years old when he was killed in a car vs train accident. he was on his way to pick up his girlfriend at her house when his car stalled on the train tracks. we don't know if he didn't hear the train whistle or froze or what, but he did not get out in time. my great grandparents never got over his death.
Yeah, true, but you could still carefully walk up to the tracks and peek how close the train is, it's not like it just hits you out of the blue... Know what I mean?
I know what you mean, but you'd be surprised by the amount of people that simply cannot handle emergency situations. They become LITERALLY frozen in place, with fear, anxiety, stress, etc.
Not unlike the kid who was decapitated on a bus full of passengers; no one actually tried to stop the guy. Not because they didn't want to, they were simply paralyzed with fear.
Overriding your 'fight or flight' response to fear is difficult, and if you can't fight, and you can't run, then you just freeze.
Good question. I think I would have carefully looked down the tracks to see how close it is first, and then I'd determine whether or not I should approach the car or not. Also keep in mind that you don't have to be right on the tracks to get hurt - even if you're 15-20 feet away, the train can still send the car flying at you...
Yeh but as said, he put his own safety aside to save the woman. He was meant to be there, as also said, which meant he was meant to save her no matter how close the train was.
If I was the guy I would have told my family to get out of "our" car and I would have used "our" car to push the other car out of harm's way. I remember I used to watch Rescue 911 everyday in the early 90's. I believe that it came out on Tuesdays only at 8 or 9 PST. I used enjoy watching this program and Unsolved Mysteries!!
I cannot believe that the guy in the tie is telling what is happening and yet he does nothing to help the woman. I mean come on, he sees the entire accident and should have done something else other than call for help after the train hits the car.
Yeah even though there was enough time to do it. Luis had lesser time to rescue the woman in the car rather than the guy in the tie did if he done the deed.
these clips are great I used to watch the show when ever I had the time I think that was one of shows that was on the air I wish they would bring it back
What a selfless guy, I hope the little boy thinks his dad is still a power ranger. I wonder if she gave him some money to go to school, that is one way to thank him.
When the teain hit the car, the relay case (the gray box which is connected to the signals, giving them power) was smashed!!! The signals should have shut off!
For everyone who hates Mexicans: If that Mexican hadn't been there, the woman would be dead. It's not like the American guy had any intention of doing anything.
I saw a train nailed a person trying to commit suicide. Only the train was doing 30mph. The man survived the impact but passed away a couple days later due to massive internal injuries. I later found out this same man tried to do it before but was intoxicated. He fell asleep between the rails and was awaken by a fast-moving train going over him at 55mph. Luckily he wasn't killed then, but too bad he didn't get help.
My dad came up to a crossing when a short school bus drove up and parked on the tracks. the driver got out and ran away, 19 kids on the buss. the oldest was 7. Preschool bus. Total stranger got out of his car and ran to the bus, got in and drove it off. My father tells me if he would of hit that bus he could not live with him self. the stranger then left. nobody knew who he was. happened in 1991 in New Jersey
from what i understand the driver hated little kids, He was a high school bus drive, And was asked to drive his brothers rout. And also if i remember right his EX wifes 4 pre-schoolers were on that buss. And I forgot to ad they did find the driver. 19 counts of attempted murder, 19 counts of child endangerment. not to mention the parking violation and abandoning a bus load of kids which got him a few life terms with no parole,, ever.

The guy in the tie narrating probably did not want to get out because the train might have nailed him had he tried to help.

Superapplefrog 4 years ago
Just because someone is Hispanic doesn't mean they're Mexican.

What?? Why did the bus driver park it and then run away? Did it stall or is he just an asshole?
And wow. The guy must have been in a hurry to be somewhere.
undeniablynikki 4 years ago
from what i understand the driver hated little kids, He was a high school bus drive, And was asked to drive his brothers rout.

I'm glad he served his time. What a jerk.

ethen24 4 years ago 3
Want to not have bad things happen to you? Avoid oldsmobiles.
ASSEMblerEX 4 years ago
That is probably because a dealer offered them several cars to use for the re-enactment.
