That's ok, because my '11 Fusion is the last year they came available with manual transmission, unless you want the stripped down S trim. And the '13 probably won't have that option either.

I have a 2003 Focus se w/ a Ztech than can do just as well (about 130 hp, yet surprising). The top speed of that car is over 120 mph (beyond registered w/out a governer). I could potentially make it to 140 in mine, so long as I have a long enough strectch and no major obsticles. I'd imagine that the most modifications would do is increase the acceleration unless some serious work was provided to the motor, then it might increase the top speed a little. Aren't four-bangers fun!
@dalmationxoxo No, not that good. It has the usual flaw of a four-banger not having all that much torque, so the v6 could do that and more all the time without having to have perfect timing. For it to be able to do that is random and depends on how it is run. *I should get sports cams and a good chip put into it, at least. (I would take the newer v6 over mine any day) Let's not forget that I have just as much chance to blow something too!
@dalmationxoxo I would mod it, if it were powerful enough. I don't see any point in modifying average four bangers. Mostly, I'm thinking of getting an older Toyota truck if I can find one. The salesmen always try to market the newer trucks off on somebody. I just got through waxing my Focus with some of that spray-on Fast Wax, and it didn't do a bad job. I was recommended to Turtle Wax and I know from experience that it is better.
They are ok but mine is falling apart, door handles broke, I have to rooll down window to open my door, mirror fell off, my stereo locked up and my AC I put it on max and it dies, have to keep it on 3. It does have a kick ass engine I give Ford that one....

I expect that from an old Neon, Civic, Cavalier, or older Subaru where they used cheap materials/paint to make them. i could of got a Neon with it's faster engine, but I was looking for more quality out of my car since my friend had one that looked like it had been set on fire inside (possible).

Fusion is a Mazda6. Always has been, NOT built on Mondeo chassis. Ford acquired the Mazda G-platform (wiki it), since 1988 and has used every evolution of it since then. Fusion = Mazda6 clone.

It sounds and accelerates so much better, but i've noticed a delay when i go sometimes even before the filter. is that because it's a 4-cylinder? and for some reason it seems like the car is so strained when i put the A/C on. it's weird. i was wondering if anyone else experienced that.
@rennieallen yeah did u know that if u turn ur ignition to on with the engine not running but have all of the dash lights light up and u turn on the a/c. do u know how bad that fucks up ur car? ur a/c uses hp from the the engine and if the engine isnt working the a/c with fry then it cost so much to replace it. i have a 09 maxima and i did that for 1 minute then i had to pay $3000 for a new air conditioning system because if a/c wont work then nothng will work. not even heat.

Probably was a manual he didn't know how to drive. OR it was a fluke. The transmission is the same one that has been in it for years. One problem is not indicative of all of them.
Ive been selling cars for 15 years and have several customers with 06 fusions pushing 150k mile range on 1st engine and trans.. I sell to many fleets... the toyota, nissan, and most definitely the honda has been very mediocre in quality since about 2002. My most recent honda customer. bought the civic brand new in 04. @ 59k his trans went out, 90k his AC stopped working and 110k his head gasket needed replacement.. not what they were.. this is one of the most solid vehicles built today. thanks
though i do not like ford very much, save a few of their cars, this is a very true statement. the fusion was designed meticulously from front to rear bumper to be a very high quality car. quick, good handling, great looking, good interior... what more can you ask for from a 4 door v6 sedan :D

I took a test drive in a new Toyota truck and it was good too. They have started making them automatic now, according to the sells man. but they re did the duratec and now it has 265hp we have one in our lincoln mkz but we also have a mazda 6 with the 3.0 they are similar 0-100kmh the lincoln is a little bit faster but you can really tell at around 120kmh that the new duratec is alot faster

When Ford unveils their 2010 lineup, they should bring out an SVT Fusion, along with a new Taurus SHO. The Fusion can get the 340 HP Ecoboost V6, and the SHO can get the Twinforce 3.5L that is rated at 420HP in the MKZ. They need to do SOMETHING to put themselves back on the map...but it's probably just wishful thinking, because they would never let a Fusion or Taurus be faster than the Mustang GT.
Your right, they should make SVT versions of those cars, but they would never do that because of mandated fuel economy and it would cost them more money than they could make off of them.
Then that would've taken away the point of the SHO. The Fusion was meant to be a mid-sized Camry competitor, not a balls-out performance sedan. The new V6 Fusions are pretty spunky, though. Definitely worth what it costs.
Besides, would you pay nearly fifty grand for a Taurus, despite its SHO-ness?
I really like what the SHO is about. So if I had the money I probably would. But the I believe the Fusion is much more capable than what we currently see. I can only dream though. I love my Focus though.

Why the negatives, the stock SE wheels+tires are about 16 lbs ( 20 lbs for the SE AWD) lighter than the SEL wheels+tires. Technically, the Fusion SE is the fastest stock Fusion.
Oh yeah.... I also raced a Mazda 6 V6 (so same engine displacement) and the Mazda 6 was behind by 3 cars at 100 mph..... Thanks to 6 speed auto and AWD..... So next time try to compare cars that's is in the same Engine Specs..... Newbs
Got a 08 Fusion SEL V6 AWD and I did 7.3sec on 0-60mph on octane 94. It's funny to see peoples saying the Altimas and Accords are quicker.... The engine displacement is 3,5 Liter vs 3.0 Liter and the Fusion is like 4500$ less expensive....
I own a fusion v6 and ive driven a couple altimas 04 & 05, and theyre not much faster. Plus ive seen what altimas look like and run like after about 3 years and 60k on them. And if thats not fast enough get an MKZ

I have a 2009 Ford Fusion, & i must say that this baby gets up and goes, it will def move. Not to mention, the ride quality is exquisite. I highly recommend this car to anyone. : )

Yes they will rock!! I have a 2006 sel v6 fusion. and that little car will rock and roll. Very smooth drive, leather seats. I love my fusion. They are good cars.

@crazyasitgets I would like to trade in my old '03 Focus for one, or the new Taurus - that car is all around nice! Ford has come out with some excellent new cars I think. I took a test drive in a new Toyota truck and it was good too. They have started making them automatic now, according to the sells man. I wonder if Ford might have a slight a partnership with them, or is it just Subaru with Toyota and Mazda with Ford? The Nissan Fronteirs reminded me of a Ford Ranger at first.

but they re did the duratec and now it has 265hp we have one in our lincoln mkz but we also have a mazda 6 with the 3.0 they are similar 0-100kmh the lincoln is a little bit faster but you can really tell at around 120kmh that the new duratec is alot faster

It changes gears past 6000rpms because the pedal is probably buried in the floorboards and for maximum acceleration.

When Ford unveils their 2010 lineup, they should bring out an SVT Fusion, along with a new Taurus SHO. The Fusion can get the 340 HP Ecoboost V6, and the SHO can get the Twinforce 3.5L that is rated at 420HP in the MKZ. They need to do SOMETHING to put themselves back on the map...but it's probably just wishful thinking, because they would never let a Fusion or Taurus be faster than the Mustang GT.

Your right, they should make SVT versions of those cars, but they would never do that because of mandated fuel economy and it would cost them more money than they could make off of them.

They came out with a Sport Fusion with the 265 h.p 3.5L and the SHO has a twin-turbo 3.5L that pumps out 365 h.p, not bad if I do say so myself.

Then that would've taken away the point of the SHO. The Fusion was meant to be a mid-sized Camry competitor, not a balls-out performance sedan. The new V6 Fusions are pretty spunky, though. Definitely worth what it costs.
Besides, would you pay nearly fifty grand for a Taurus, despite its SHO-ness?

I really like what the SHO is about. So if I had the money I probably would. But the I believe the Fusion is much more capable than what we currently see. I can only dream though. I love my Focus though.

@legendarysim ...yeah but if that was done, why would anybody buy the mustangs? lol if you have the money a swap could be done of the two, the mounting points are the same as is the transmission and AWD system, the fusion was originally supposed to be equipped with AWD and the parts are literally a bolt in, so it can be done if you have the bank for it

Why the negatives, the stock SE wheels+tires are about 16 lbs ( 20 lbs for the SE AWD) lighter than the SEL wheels+tires. Technically, the Fusion SE is the fastest stock Fusion.

Oh yeah.... I also raced a Mazda 6 V6 (so same engine displacement) and the Mazda 6 was behind by 3 cars at 100 mph..... Thanks to 6 speed auto and AWD..... So next time try to compare cars that's is in the same Engine Specs..... Newbs

Got a 08 Fusion SEL V6 AWD and I did 7.3sec on 0-60mph on octane 94. It's funny to see peoples saying the Altimas and Accords are quicker.... The engine displacement is 3,5 Liter vs 3.0 Liter and the Fusion is like 4500$ less expensive....

I own a fusion v6 and ive driven a couple altimas 04 & 05, and theyre not much faster. Plus ive seen what altimas look like and run like after about 3 years and 60k on them. And if thats not fast enough get an MKZ
