@punkizer76 Ok thanks. im really into playing stuff like brad paisley and guys like him. but i cant find a good amp to even get close to them. the closest amp i found is a ac30 but tht was 1700. and for 70 bucks cant go wrong. thanks for the help
Vox AC30 is the greatest amp ever. Marshall used to dress the AC30 in Marshall clothes for Ritchie Blackmore because they just couldn't make an amp that is as good...
i mean : is it loud enough to jam with a sax, trumpet , bagpipe , accordion ?
'cause it's a seducing idea to jam with my telecaster and my 12 string with a pickup instead of playing the 12 string so hard it gets out of tune then not hearing me the way i want :'/ or perhaps i should look at some battery-powered amp ... but always a cheap , transportable and sturdy one .
my pathfinder 15 doesnt get the clean setting......... only gain and overdrive and they sound horrible...... also the treble doesnt seem to work.... if you know what to do please pm me thanks alot.
to whomever it may concern... this video does not do this little baby justice, I'm not having a go at the guitarist, his playing is absolutely fine, but the video quality does not show the amps true quality. I'm borrowing my mates PF10 atm and it's got such a great tone for such a small SS amp, I didn't realise a solid state could sound so good.
I was never much of a Vox man myself, but after playing the PF10 'm definetely going to have to look into some other Vox tube amps, any suggestions?
this is the amp i've been looking for all along. all that time i sat with my shitty rented les paul copy and digital unauthentic DA5.
I always liked clean sounds and really liked vox, never understood why they didnt just remake tube amps for affordable prices. But here it is. As affordable as they come and great tube amp. Not versatile or loud thou but with a warm sound perfect to practice on on a warm summer day
I own a Pathfinder 10 and I love the clean channel (overdrive is crap to me, so I always use pedals). I´d like to use the line out to connect a Framus 2x12 cabinet.. Is that possible? Could I get a nice sound if I do that? Thank you!
It's pretty easy to create a switch box between the internal speaker and an external speaker. Just watch the ohms. For example if the Pathfinder 10 has an 8ohm speaker you should pair it to an 8 ohm extension cab and not a 4 or 16 (your tone will change and you will stress the amp)
Hey dude check my video response, I use a strat with an additional Boss DS-1 which I only use to get a better tone. The DS-1 is set with drive at 1, Level at 6 and Tone at 3. I use the Pathfinder Overdrive and the DS-1 at the same time. I was pretty happy with the sound:-) Cheers
@aedeau I've got strat too, and I have to say it sounds marvelous with single coils. Especially when u play on overdrive channel with gain half way up, it's the best solid state amp i've ever heard (for that price of course :)
I'm looking for a cheap, but decent practice amp. I mostly play metal. (standard E tuning like early Ozzy , iron maiden, etc...NO tune down..) Is Pathfinder suitable for that kind of music. I don't care for overdrive channel, i have an overdrive pedal and want a good clean "basis" to that. It hasnt git a mid tone control. Is that a big problem? Any suggestions?
Bassicly, but it really fits more for hard rock, but it can play any style with it, (only be sure that you have a good quality guitar, or it sound like crap, believe me)
Thx for your reply. Since my last post, i already bought a pf10, and i really like it. It's a great little amp. Altough i have a really cheapo crap guitar, the amp still do it's job fine. I really recommend it to everyone who looking for a practice amp.
I have been debating on whether or not to buy the Pathfinder 15R. Your video convinced me to go with the Pathfinder 10, since I've already got a good reverb pedal. Thanks for the good product demo.
I just picked up a used one today, and am blown away by the clean channel with a little drive, this thing sounds like a higher end tube amp !nice warm vox'y sound!
hey I just got this amp cant wait to play but its at my moms house but anyway nice job your really good and again loving the amp

i can tell that the mic you are using for recording is quite sad. Even though this beauty sounds very good.
the idea of making a switch with a Speaker out and taking it with a 2x12 cab to small gig sounds wonderfull.
i was looking at an Orange Crush, but this sounds way better

sound comes out of an amp
unless ur a technical expert on guitars
you wont really need to worry about pickups
benny704 3 years ago
different pickups generate different sounds. pickup, guitar and amp all go together to generate the sound you want.
not to mention the playing style =)
