I bought this camera, very users friendly, easy and suits to beginners entry like me as well. Keep learning and get to know-how is the key to get the knowledge. Anyway, great explanation mate.
Please helpme, I'm taking photos to purple items but they look blue in the picture, I have try many options but still blue, what is it the I need to do.....thank U very much....
I can not thank you enough for this video. I was having such a hard time trying to figure out how to shoot in manual mode! After watching this video, I honestly feel pretty confidant that I can take some great photos of my son!! THANKS!!!!!
@KochHil; You're welcome. I am glad that I was able to help. I really hate it that books don't really explain it too well. Good luck, and I hope you can get some great photos!
@danielabella85; You're welcome. I think it would be a big help if it was put into the manual. The books you get at the bookstores on photography don't help very much either. I'm glad that I was able to help. I'm planning on making some videos on how the Shutter Priority mode and the Program Mode works also.
I recently purchased a NIKON 3000 to take indoor roller derby action shots. I am using 55-200 mm 1.4 - 5.6 g ED lens. I have not had any luck yet. I would welcome any advice that you could provide. Daughter is skating in state championship next weekendl, and I really would love to get one great action shot. Thanks a million!
@terryturner57; The only thing I can think of right off the top of my head would be to set the ISO up to 800, and dial the aperture (f/stop) number a low as it will go. That opens the lens opening the widest to let the most light in. The set the shutter release mode to repeat. That's about the only thing I can think of to get an action shot or two. Good luck!
@Jarar14: I found it at a thrift store for $4.99. The day I bought it they were running an anniversary sale and were discounting everything an additional 50 percent. I walked out of the store with only paying $2.50 for it. It's not a true D3000 battery grip though. It's actually for a D40. You can get them on Amazon.com for less than $30.00 now the the D40 has been discontinued. Order a battery grip for a D40/D40x and it will attach to a D3000/D5000 without modifications.
@jennfox6; You're welcome. I love mine. I'm planning on doing some videos on the shutter priority mode and the program mode. I'm still planning on doing some videos on how to do some night shots.
@DevonMonkey2493; that would be due to lens design. It depends on the lens that you are using. If you're using the kit lens, at minimum zoom, anywhere from 18-24mm of zoom it should go to f/4.
@FerdinandMagellan08 do it ! I need to practice my night shots! here's my flickr if you or anyone else would like to view my photos flickr/jessicatirador
@JESSICA2010T I'm going to try to do it this coming Friday night so I can get it posted here Saturday. I'm also probably do something with the program mode and the ISO settings.
I'm new to photography. I'm only 13. There is so many things that I don't know about this! What is F9 and all that stuff?!? Is it the aperture? If so how do you decide it?
@KyleHarrelson; I'm glad that you decided to go into photography. f/9 is simply a measurement of the opening of the aperture. The aperture is actually the lens opening. It works just like your iris in your eyes. It opens wider to let more light in and closes to let less light in. A person would decide what setting the aperture they want it on depending how much light there is, and how clear you want the background.
@KyleHarrelson; You're welcome. Well, the advantages to using slow shutter speeds would be in low light, but you really need a tripod for that. You can capture some beautiful night shots using slow shutter speeds. You don't want to use a slow shutter speed in daylight though. You will overexpose the scene, unless you have the aperture set to a higher f/number that can allow the camera to compensate.

@jennfox6 i forgot to ask, can we make a video using d3000? tnx!!
jennfox6 4 months ago in playlist More videos from FerdinandMagellan08
@jennfox6; The D3000 doesn't have any video capabilities but the D5000 does. I think that's the only difference between a D3000 and a D5000.
