  • Hey dude, good demo. Could you help me out with something though? Is there a way to program the overdrive pedal effect into one of the controls so you're able to toggle it while playing live? Or some other way to give yourself a boost while playing live?

  • @elmoxtreme13: Yes, there is - but, you have to be a little creative about it. You could pick an amp model that gets you the gain you desire (ie AC-15 ramped all the way up) and then use a distortion pedal w/mild gain to boost during solos. I've done this on one of the clean patches fairly effectively. There is also a way to assign an effect to the "Control" button itself - you just have to play around with it.

  • Are these Tonelabs just for rock/metal type playing? That's the only kind of demo I see of them on youtube, so was wondering if it'd be something that would suit me... Also, are there major differences between the ST LE and EX that I should know about?

  • @airmiami: No, there are several "clean" programs, as well. I use 3 most often are: Pdl Rvb, AC30 Tremolo, and Phaser. There are other Chorus clean channels, etc. - but these are the 3 I use most often. You can program a button called "Control" to punch in a distortion pedal for a lead boost. The LE is the most advanced Tonelab; best I can figure the new EX and ST are roughly in the same category.

  • Thanks, good demo.

  • Interesting - have just learned that Pat Travers uses a Vox Tonelab LE - very cool...

  • @bamagtrdude just saw pat last night. he rocks
