Close to 300 people have died on Thai flights and 83 on Singapore flights, comparing that to 0 deaths for Air Asia, 0 for Jetstar and 0 for Ryanair means that your comment doesn't really hold water.

@Nat2370 It probably a one-stop flight. The A320 has a maximum range of 3200 nautical miles, and the distance from Manchester to KL is around 5800 nautical miles.

Why all this hatred towards Air Asia?

I've used them several times and won't hesitate to use them again.

As for accidents and incidents Air Asia is one of the safest airlines in operation having had only one incident with no loss of life. This compares with Jetstar who has also had one minor incident and Ryanair who have had two.

Now compare this with Singapore Airlines FL 006 that left 83 people dead or Thai Airways FL261 that killed 108. I think the facts speak for themselves!

for a very new airline to crash a plane recently and to have many engine problems , this air asia is a very dangerous cheap airline. a plane bigger than an A320 is the waY TO GO across the globe - this a320 is a no,no.

also, no confirmation was made when asked if the A320 of airasia is brand new - not an old plane re-painted anew.

An emptyflight Airbus A320 schould just be able to make a Europe-Asia flight with just 1 stop.

Perhaps 2 stops for safetyreasons.

Compare it with a A320 flight from Mainland Europe to the Spanish Canary Islands. Mentioned flight takes aprox 4,5-5hours, plus reserve fuel (aprox 1 hour).

That means an A320 can fly for, at least 6 hours with passengers & luggage.

This answers the question.

Yes. A A320 can fly Europe -Asia with just 1 fuelstop.

yes dude.. do you know the airline cebu pacific air of the philippines? when airbus delivered their a320 and a319 from France, they just made 1 stop.. it was in hamburg germany.. then they flew all the way from Germany to the Philippines.. note: hamburg to manila is 10 hours :).. and Cebu pacific are planing to fly to brisbane, Australia from amnila, philippines using 1319 aircraft.. and this is about 7-8 hours.. :)

Accually Airbus A318/19/20/21 are made in Hamburg.

Only Widebody Airbus are produced in Toulouse, France.

The Cebu Pacific Air, you are talking about, has never been in France.

It was built & painted in Hamburg.

Because the person who has written the article you are talking about, clearly doesnt know 100% they are talking about. As I said. As all aviation enthusiasts schould/would know. Airbus narrowbody fleet is built in Hamburg & widebody are made in Toulouse.

Airbus headquarters & original/main factory is Toulouse, France. Perhaps thats what has confused/mixed up the journalist.
