  • i think i'm going to throw up :S

  • ill be running 3x 24inch monitors soon. very excited, although i have to buy a bigger desk as well XD

  • I just setup eyefinity. Great Vid. Gave me some ideas of games to play :)

  • Can someone explain me why we don't simply get that kind of image on a big .. 50 inch TV? Why do developpers not include the widescreen even for screens that are "wide"?

  • @Thecorrosivepulp The difference between 3x monitors and 1 big TV is the aspect ratio. 1 large HDTV (or 1 widescreen monitor) has a 16:9 aspect ratio. 3x monitors has an aspect ratio of 48:9. The in-game Field of View for Hor+ games is a function of aspect ratio and increases horizontally with increased aspect. The TV and single monitor have the same FOV. You see the exact same picture on both even though the TV is larger. A 90 degree FOV on 1 screen (or TV) will be 143 degrees on 3 monitors.

  • @HydraliskX you could always run a lower resolution in a window or with black bars, like say on a 16:9 1920x1080 display run 1920x512 for an aspect ratio of 15:4. ****x512 is kind of low though. I run 3840x1024 on 3 19" monitors, 3072x768 looses a lot of detail. On Xbox360 when you do split screen in COD Black ops playing Nazi Zombies you get 32:9 (16x4.5),

  • what software did you use to record this vid? so that all three monitors are perfectly flush

  • @kornskydiver It's just FRAPs... so it acts like it's just one giant monitor.

  • Thanks man

    Cheers!

  • Very Cool Build !!!!

Can someone tell me music name?

  • @Ronins73 Southern Sun by Paul Oakenfold. It's off Bunkka, there's several mixes.

  • Nice montage. I'm playing the same games with eyefinity. :)

Only UT3 is not really eyefinity compatible out of the 20 games in this video.

  • I am building an Eyefinity setup and trying to find the perfect monitors, unfortunately I have fairly limited desk space.

Could you tell me the width of the monitors when you have all 3 positioned for gaming? :)

    Thank you.

  • @dbtor The base of the monitors cover about 50" on my desk. Since these monitors rotate about the base you can probably rotate the bases and fit inside 40-45". The edges of the monitors span about 60" across my desk... All of this of course varies with the angle you put the monitors at. my angle is pretty tame at about 20 degrees.

  • @dbtor I also had VERY limited desk space, and I found that my 3 19" widescreen monitors actually fit quite well. Eyefinity is definitely worth getting if you have the money.

  • that's F***ing amazing....

  • Thinking of getting two screens with my new build. if i do, and i use eyefinity, when i play FPS games, will my crosshair be in "the middle" of the two screens, as in not displayed. Or will i get an extended view to my left or right depending on setup?

  • I think it'll depend on the game, but for the most part the crosshair will be stuck in the middle of the screen split between the two monitors.

  • @HydraliskX Thanks for the reply. Maybe i'll just get two screens (can't afford three in my budget) then disable the secondary when playing FPS's.

  • @MrYummyToast I have two screens, and it gets tough because the gun/crosshair gets split between them. It would work better if I can get the monitors to be exactly side-by-side.

I do run a few games at 2560x1024 windowed really well this way because I can make the gun and crosshair on one monitor, and get extended view on the side.

  • @MrYummyToast That's the beauty of 3 monitors. But then you have to dish out the minimum of $150 for another one. =/

  • hi, i would like to know how is the backlight on this monitor? looking foward to pick one up

  • thses screen have displayport , do u still need an active displayport in order to run eyefinity

    thanks

  • These screens have native displayport so you don't need an adapter.

  • More ventrilo hydra less fail.

  • thanks for you response , one more question does this screen offer a descent quality gaming picture i have ordered it and all i need it is pick it from the post

  • As far as LCD screens go, there's generally two types: TN and IPS. These are obviously TN panels since IPS panels cost $500 each or more. That said, TN panels are the most common and offer the fastest response time for gaming. As far as TN panels go, these are pretty good.

  • Nice graphics!!+

  • the sides are so stretched out

  • There's been discussion about that, and the conclusion is that it's actually visually correct. People just haven't ever seen such extreme FOV mapped onto a 2D plane.

  • Nice, you choosed good games^^
