the best tip i learned to do was download games to hard drive. when u play the games on the disk in the xbox works harder and overheats faster. when you download the game to the hard drive the disk does not spin equalling less work for the xbox.

Ya mine is nudged in between my desk leg and wall, it's enough ;). To be fair it's a much lighter 203watt then most. But the fan is present for a reason. I have gamed all day without issue.
you also wanna keep a fan on the right side of it cause the shaft on the right(HORIZONTAL)sucks air from around the room and area and the fans on the back keep heat flowing outwards. That's why the rrod happens mostly to people who put their 360 vertically, because the shaft is blocked from air.

Look up yellow light of death or flashing red light of death, every console has problems, probably the least being the wii or ps3 and the most being 360 without a doubt. I keep my 360 upright. It's a falcon with AS5 thermal paste. My 360's fans never go fast any more. My heatsinks are a bit sanded to for better transfer of heat. I also have a shroud mod to take more air from the gpu. Play your card's right with simple mods to newer 360's (old=plain shit)and you shouldn't see it for a long time.
Yeah, but where is your power supply brick? That needs ventallation too because it has a fan in the thing. The warrenty for that is only 90 days, so i would take care of it a little more. The 360 has 3yrs.
ok i did an exsparament over 6 months and this is what i got, standing frees 1 wont read disks 1, laying down frees 1 everything on screen gets funked up 1, so i can say laying it down is the best way to save your xbox 360:)

1. Buy a new Xbox. (This is the reason Xbox 360's have 3x the amount of PS3's sold. Xbots/Fanboys rub this in the face of every ps3 console owner.
or
2. Pay to get it fixed. (This comes in play of the money they seem to be getting from these people.)

Ok look, I'm not a fanboy or anything but I can tell you this right now 100%
Microsoft's console "is" meant to break. The reason for this being is both for sales, and money. I'll give you an example.
If you get the RRoD or the 74error, you call Microsoft and they offer to fix it for you if you pay $125.00 + an Additional $90.00. In the long run you have 2 options.

(games store) said to stand it up,to help prevent the RROD...only 2 months in,so heres still hopin I dont get it anytime soon.lol

the xbox gets even hotter laying horizontally all the heat gets trapped in the tiny thin gap underneath! feel the difference after 3 hrs!!!

Btw, take off the faceplate and take off the right grey cover. Thats where air is ntaked. Results in better cooling

Ya mine is nudged in between my desk leg and wall, it's enough ;). To be fair it's a much lighter 203watt then most. But the fan is present for a reason. I have gamed all day without issue.

you also wanna keep a fan on the right side of it cause the shaft on the right(HORIZONTAL)sucks air from around the room and area and the fans on the back keep heat flowing outwards. That's why the rrod happens mostly to people who put their 360 vertically, because the shaft is blocked from air.

well the 360 has many more features than the ps3. THe 360 has so many awesome games that they don't sell for the ps3, like halo 3. Also the 360 costs less.

Fear it like the flood(halo 3 reference)but I think it's a safe bet with the new jasper 360's they run a hell of a lot cooler due to reduced die size. This also saves energy. My friend actually said sometimes the air from his jasper is cold

Look up yellow light of death or flashing red light of death, every console has problems, probably the least being the wii or ps3 and the most being 360 without a doubt. I keep my 360 upright. It's a falcon with AS5 thermal paste. My 360's fans never go fast any more. My heatsinks are a bit sanded to for better transfer of heat. I also have a shroud mod to take more air from the gpu. Play your card's right with simple mods to newer 360's (old=plain shit)and you shouldn't see it for a long time.

Yeah, but where is your power supply brick? That needs ventallation too because it has a fan in the thing. The warrenty for that is only 90 days, so i would take care of it a little more. The 360 has 3yrs.

ok i did an exsparament over 6 months and this is what i got, standing frees 1 wont read disks 1, laying down frees 1 everything on screen gets funked up 1, so i can say laying it down is the best way to save your xbox 360:)
