  • nice tank i am soon doing this to my 30 (all black)

  • I LOVE your tank. I am thinking of re-filling my empty 100 gallon tank in the near future. I wanted to ask you what type of sand/gravel(?) youre using, the black color is gorgeous.

  • @ChaiBunny

The substrate I'm using in this tank is called 3m ColorQuartz, it's a substrate used in floors/pools, wasn't easy to get and now unfortunately it has been discontinued from what I heard.

  • @davexdd Thanks a lot!

  • What are the measurements for a 55 gal tank? I think I have one but im not sure.

    Thanks

  • makes me want black sand.

  • Driftwood is expensive!

i seen pieces such as yours going for $20-30 at the pet store D:

nice tankbtw since the black sand brings out the color of the your silver fishes, maybe more plants next time??

  • Nice update, I'm going to do the same with my tank, it has a lot of plants and hidding places cause I used to have Cichlids and Rainbow Sharks, but now I'm gonna put Silver Dollars and Iridescent Sharks, so I'll update the tank with more free space.

You mentioned you needed color, why don't you think on Parrot Fish? It will be a nice add to that tank.

  • You said you hate the algae on your plants, you should get a BN pleco or a rubber lip pleco for your tank.

They do a great job at eating algae and dont grow very large, and once they clean up your tank you should feed them algae wafers to keep them happy.

  • such a nice setup : )

  • imo dollars arent very gud community fishes. i lovem to death but better for tanks 400g +

  • how long did it took you to make the driftwood to sink. what did you do?

  • It didn't take much, after I cleaned the driftwood, I just submerged it in a bucket of water for a day to remove the tannins, then remove the water from the bucket and refilled it with clean water again and submerged it for another day. But really I could of just did it in one day.

  • can the silver dollars be kept in there forever

  • i boiled mine for like 20 mins and just put it in the tank, sunk right in and is perfectly fine

  • i guess LOL.

  • god people, quit giving me a thumbs down. i was replying to "duckman4you"

  • They probably misunderstood, lol ... ^_^

  • Nice clean looking tank!

  • your aquarium is 14.95 gallons

  • Hey my tank is two feet long one foot high and one foot across how big is that? So are thoughs plastic plants in there?

  • how many Silver Dollar can you have a a 90gl tank?

  • niiice looks awesome

i agree the simplistic look is a good one
