Final Fantasy IV on the DS wasn't that hard. :/

The boss battles were challenging, but really fun! I didn't have to grind for any bosses.

I spent a huge amount of time completing the PS port on original difficulty with all kinds of demon doors trying to smash me, and they increased the difficulty on DS!? Jezus.

...I've heard that the US SNES release was easy. The later ports were. Not. EASY! Dammit!

why the hell did square make the ds version so damn hard? I suggested ff4 to my friend, and it was gonna be his first final fantasy game ever, and he got the ds version of this.... He was so pissed at this, and I was too cuz we were playin simultaneously and we both got mad at it. He quit and took it back, i beat it then took it back. I tried to convince him to play the GBA version of the game and he gave me the -_- stare. Now, he'll never pick up another ff game ever.... Man, I need a FF bud

@Isaac10best Yeah, it's hard. But I mean, you can slow down the battle speed to give yourself longer to think if needed. And for every single hard fight, there is that "one" move that will make it 100 times easier. Maybe it's blink, maybe it's casting berserk on those fuckin fire dogs. I loved the difficulty of it. Made it that much more rewarding at the end. The GBA version and the SNES versions were complete jokes.

I've just come to question the matter; why are different Final Fantasy games for different systems? For example, why are some made for Nintendo and some for Sony? Shouldn't they just be for one system? Or is it something to do with the whole Square/Square Enix thing?

Can someone help me explain, when I searched Final Fantasy 2, how come cecil harvey's final fantasy came out? I was expecting Firion's version. I mean, Cecil harvey is Final Fantasy 4 right. How can II and IV get mixed up? :/

@mrSwanz In the 90s when the FF games came out, America did not recieve them all.

So FF4 was released as 2, because they didn't get FF2/3. FF6 was released as 3 because america didn't get 5. FF7 was the first time the whole world got it released and now the whole world has got them all in their proper numbers in ps1/psp/GBA/DS/NeoGeo etc form.

@mrSwanz FF4 was originally released in America as FF2. The real FF2 and FF3 were never localized outside of Japan until much later, so FF4 was the second game after FF1 to come to the US. That's why FF4 was originally called FF2 in the US. Now, of course, it's all fixed, but if you buy the SNES version of FF4 on the Wii VC, it's still called FF2.

This was the first Final Fantasy I really got into...I played 1 when I was very young but I was too young to appreciate its value. I must have grinded over 60 hours on this one, trying to level my characters enough to beat Zeromus at the end. I've started playing through the DS version and, I have to admit, I'm liking it a lot. It's a little rough around the edges but it's perfect for fans who want a well-polished remake of the original. Forget 5 and 6, 4 ruled the SNES trio!

One of my favorite vgm compositions. I love how the theme of the red wings is worked into the ending music, giving it a beautiful, fulfilling resolution the way the ending to the story tied everything together. Cecil has the best growth arc of any FF character.
