@TheZapmaster100 gates are gateways that can turn into warpgates. they are the core of protoss that summons the basic, "gateway units"

gateways - regular production building where the units take normal time to be built.

warpgates - upgraded form of gateways, unlocked at the cybernetics core that can "warp" in units in about 10 seconds or so every 15 seconds or so.

Husky , you could have actually one the first battle that set the contain. when the attack happened, your army was completely off position and getting hit by tanks. you also had to fall back to your teammates, letting the enemy take out most of your teammates troops while you were getting into position. then you microed them out of fire to wait for the collosi, destroying your teammates army.

it's a protoss siege unit. it would use a scarab to kill stuff. you had to build the scarabs and they pretty much owned bio balls. a scarab is pretty much like an interceptor. but yeah, reavers owned.

SC1 didn't have armor types, dmg was based on unit sizes.

small units usually did the same dmg to anything. (like marine 6 vs ling or BC)

large units did 50% dmg to small ones (meaning a tank did 35dmg vs marines instead of 70)

there were some that were the other way around, like vulture grenades that did full vs small and reduced vs large.

I'm not sure it is entirely accurate, but it was such a long time ago :)

Don't count on it. I bought this game inspired by his casting. I finally got good enough and came against him in a ladder match. I asked if he was the commentator, no reply. I ended up winning purely because he made a huge end game mistake. He was a poor sport about it.... I felt crushed :P

Starcraft 1 didn't have armour types. The damage dealt was based on the unit size, either small, medium, or large. There were three different damage types, concussive, normal, or explosive.

Concussive damage did 100% the damage displayed to small, 50% medium, 25% large.

Normal damage did 100% to all.

Explosive 50% small, 75% to medium, 100% to large.

SC1 also didn't display what type of damage or size a unit did/was in-game

@Atarien6 It was not placement match as you understand it, when you never played you got to do five placement match to see in witch league you belong but here, it was a "replacement match". When ever a season ends in starcraft you have to make one of those "replacement match" to join your league in the new season but your previous season's league is part of the calculs ;)

SC2 actually takes into account your league from the previous seasons, and ur opponent for your placement matches will start with ppl from around that league.
