  • This happened in Brunswick too--they tore down the old high school in 2010--a lot of people did not want to see it go. The memories died with the building. I never had class in it because they closed it in 1995. (I was 3 years old) but after seeing the inside I "fell in love with it" and was very sad to see it get torn down--even though the roof in the 70 year old wing leaked. They just don't build buildings like this anymore. R.I.P. Old Brunswick High School & Old Cony High School.

  • why'd they have to make a new cony? couldnt we just stay home? i learn as much their as i do at home

  • JMcFuck, if you had gone to a decent school AND managed to stay awake, you would recognize satire at it's finest. Unfortunately, you sound like you attended cony dog, too. Take this corn dog and sit on it. Ryderhard and I have places to see and people to do.

  • slickbabyyaya - roflmao...i tink yoor write

  • RavenLust, despite your having attended This high school for five years, seeing Tis buiLding getting tear down highLites dat prehaps yousleeped dooring sum of you're english Classes. dOnt you tink Im write about that?

  • I'm not saying that your right or that your wrong what i'm saying is you better get to know me first before judging me:). I just miss high school thats all and if there was any high school i wouldve picked it would cony hands down.

  • Yaaaaaaaay!!!!

I'm sorry but I really hated going to this school so it's major therapy watching it get destroyed.

    Thanks for posting!

  • WOW! Sure is sad to see this building go down after 38 years, good thing their keeping the original one. Haven't lived in Maine in 28 years, but attended 70-74 and now its going to be a Food Store..Things do change sometimes in Augusta, don't they?

  • Some things change while others stay the same.

I graduated from Cony the class of '72' and it appears that the latest move by the city is now to take over the "Flat Iron" and what was started by Danial Cony so many years ago is apt to be lost, but Cony will always be alive so long as I am as well as my children and their children

  • *GASP*

    Tears...

I was in the last freshmen class before they switched and I moved..I didn't know they were tearing it down :(

Are they still putting in a Hannafords?

  • yeah

  • This is truly heartbreaking...

It's like my memories are being destroyed along with the walls.
