I made a reply to a comment months ago about the release date. Someone guessed it would be the first of November, and I said it wouldn't be because it was a Sunday. The release date was announced for November 1st, at least I added a however at the end in case he was right.

No, they aren't ten years behind. If a movie and it's sequel came out in the same year, that'd be fucking weird. Chronicles of Riddick came out 5 years after the original and no one slams that for being late. So, if anything, Boondock Saints II is five or six years behind.

Probably not, movies are typically released on Fridays, or Wednesday's if it is a holiday weekend. Nov 1st is a Sunday. Then again the brothers love Sunday mass.

Studios do NOT release on those days. They just don't. It's an unspoken rule. It's not logical, it's not smart, it's not good for business and it's utterly pointless when all is said and done. Why you may ask? Well, studios expect their films to draw crowds. Crowds mean lines of people. Lines mean theaters with multiple showings and/or screens. This means that people will ahve to go to later showings. A movie won't make shit if it opens on a day that isn't Friday or Saturday.
