@Rollman1 "Disco Duck" happened towards the beginning of the disco fad (1976), so I don't think you could say it killed disco, unless maybe it was a slow poison. "Urban Cowboy" had nothing whatsoever to do with disco, except that the movies "Urban Cowboy" and "Saturday Night Fever" had the same star (John Travolta) All in all, I think it would be more accurate to say that disco killed disco.

"Disco Duck" was rather silly, I won't quarrel with you on that. As for the chronology, "Disco Duck" attracted a LOT of attention around Memphis (where I lived at the time) in the late summer & mid-fall of 1976 because it was released by a local deejay. The station where he worked @ the time, WMPS, fired him for promoting his own material on the air.
