I hate to break this to everybody, but there are ALWAYS sharks within less than 100 yards of you every time you enter the water. They might be sand sharks, or reef sharks, or something a little bigger like tigers or maybe even a white, but they're always there, feeding on shoreline schools of bluefish or mullet or whatever. The chances are pretty astronomical that you'll ever be bitten, though. You've got a better chance of stepping on a buried string ray or a fiddler crab.

They are def. not tigers, look like bulls, and there arent hundreds, theres a huge blac of bait with about ten shark working it. If you wanna see hundres check out "100,000 sharks spotted off florida beach". my backyard, and it happens every year, lots bullies. Its amazing, when the migration starts every spring ill see a bunch of fins on top working a bait pod and pull up to it and as far as you can down into the blue is just hundreds of shadows heading north. Thats when you know theyre here.

One of my lecturers in vertebrate zoology once told us a story about how he and some others were doing research on small juvenile white pointers, they were swimming about and then saw a shadow "the size of a bus" that was moving, putting their heads back underwater they realized it was a massive mamma white pointer. They didn't stay in the water very long. :)
