this game has some of the SH*TIEST stories and characters I've ever seen in any RPG game!! the only fairly good thing about this game is the battle system
I tried so hard to give this game a chance. I just disliked the character models because they looked like "doll faces." But, the thing that really made it unbearable to play this game was the English voice actors. I loved SO:3 and its my favorite game of all time. I loved the characters, story, and different environments you explore. This game let me down. This is a beautiful game, so I don't understand why they didn't have a bigger budget to hire good English voice actors.
Just bought this game as my mate reccomended it to me as he is a RPG nerd like me, I reccomended him Neir and he loved it, underrated game, now he said this was and will play it tomorrow, the game looks brilliant from this so lets get it on haha :D

I really liked the fighting system, but the entire storyline gets tainted since everything bad that happens is just viruses created by the 4th dimension people like Luther. Even though the story of 4 happens around 700 years before 3 in the Eternal Sphere, that could possible be only a few months time to the 4th dimension people.

@Surakez All the Star Ocean's are connected. To be precise, you can arguably state that SO3 is the "last story" in the Star Ocean franchise. In this story, we see humanity breach into space for the first time. Personally, my favorite Star Ocean is the second.
Star ocean Til the end of time was amazing, I loved the story but it also kinda ruined the series for me, i get absorbed in the story of a game, so after I learned the truth of the SO universe in "til the end of time", it made me not wanna play a prequel to it it terms of story timeline.
@Dragonitlas Same here but after I got a PS3 I pretty much had to play this anyway, fighting system more than makes up for the incredible spoiler in SO3 but you are probably better off not thinking about it.
Something I was disturbed of in 4 was the frequent times when you were supposed to be in a hurry but instead the characters starts a lengthy drama, honestly felt like they deserved to fall victim to whatever they were supposed to hurry away from -.-
The game was absolute dog shit compared to this trailer. None of the CG in this trailer was even in the game and the CG cutscenes in the actual game looked like complete crap compared to this.
They could have worked harder on the cut scenes and models, But, personally, I think it was a good idea to use the in-game models in cut scenes, instead of using CGI movie renders. The models were both made in entirely different styles, and would have clashed horribly during game play. They just should have modeled the characters faces better, and the game would have looked way better. I'm a HUGE SO4 fan, But I totally agree with you on the visuals. Still a fun game in my opinion.
@crushingsnow i havn't got this game yet, but i it looks really good, but i advise you after you beat this game to go buy the star ocean 3 till the end of time. It may came before this but it tells how this whole thing ends sort of
the area in this video looks like the puzzle area with colored blocks from star ocean 3 i forget the name of the area but i thought it was a very well put together area gave me a decent challenge to get through i spent like 275 hours on multiple accounts playing star ocean 3 to bad i sold my memory card :( i had epic gear and tons of money to spare if i could get a check for it id be set XD

@MegaFFun Don't know what happened to it. Call me crazy, but the Sanctuary on En II actually has floating islands and I wonder if the design went towards that in any way. Probably not.

Earth is destroyed by WWIII and you are out on a mission to look for a new planet to inhabit because the atmosphere on Earth is impossible to live on. So while on Moonbase you launch out into space in search of planets suitable for humans to live on. And a bunch of crap happens and you save the Universe. And this is the last game for Star Ocean and the prequel to all Star Ocean games. Games crap. Bought it played 20 hours a day beat it in 3 days. It's okay not too great.
Yeah I read a couple of reviews on it afterwards and lots of people seem to say that it's not so great - a little bit boring and nothing new from the previous ones which has kinda dampened my interest somewhat. Never mind though.

But I popped it in logged 20 some hours each day slept for about 3 hours and played 20 more hours. I did it. It's not impossible. Heck, freaking first day release of MW2 I logged 20 hours with my brother online. I almost made it to rank one in multiplayer but then got a lot of hackers, hacking the scoreboard. But I'm a NEET. 2 hours of sleep is all I need. I'm a true gamer.

Square Enix announced that Star Ocean 4: The Last Hope International will be coming to PS3 in Japan on February 4, 2010, for 7800 yen. Just finished this game and...It was EPIC. Well....Faize and Crowe were epic. By the end of the game I kind of wanted them to just kill Edge off so I didn't have to hear another "let's go, people".
Yes PS3 has all those games....but the PS3 is too expensive(I have one 60GB)....so fewer people are buying to system...even now...sqaure enix, a major Playstation Corporation is making games for 360 because it's difficult for the PS3 considering Blue Ray....but not to worry..I'll always be a PS fan......Just that I like to pawn people in Halo..aghahg
I liked it. It actually tells us what happened before Till The End of Time at least. And why earth is the way it is now in the game and how there is really no moon. Correct me if I am wrong but the moon is now entirely artificial in Till The End of Time.

Just finished this game and...It was EPIC. Well....Faize and Crowe were epic. By the end of the game I kind of wanted them to just kill Edge off so I didn't have to hear another "let's go, people".

Yes PS3 has all those games....but the PS3 is too expensive(I have one 60GB)....so fewer people are buying to system...even now...sqaure enix, a major Playstation Corporation is making games for 360 because it's difficult for the PS3 considering Blue Ray....but not to worry..I'll always be a PS fan......Just that I like to pawn people in Halo..aghahg

I liked it. It actually tells us what happened before Till The End of Time at least. And why earth is the way it is now in the game and how there is really no moon. Correct me if I am wrong but the moon is now entirely artificial in Till The End of Time.

Kai336-- So True. I know someone who even thought that WoW was turn-based. I was like.. are you serious.. and he was. I enlightened him, lol. Most RPG's aren't even turn-based at all, Final Fantasy being the lasting, leading exception, but I don't remember how FFXIII is supposed to be now. FFXII is weird, too, lol, but definitely not turn-based.
And I wish this game would come out for the PS3.. sigh. lol.
And this trailer's got bad sound.. lol.

I haven't seen it in any shops here yet though (In Britain, I mean). If it's out elsewhere in Europe though, it means it should be soon. I'll double-check the shops though! ;)
