I was just watching old re-runs of "In Living Color" and at the end of the show, they're always introduce a new group that just discovered/signed to record label, and one of the fly girls introduce "US3"-Cantaloop!
Love this tune-haven't heard it in ages! Very smooth jazzy feel to it!
Култовата британска джаз-рап формация Us3 пристига у нас за концерт на 28 октомври в Sofia Live Club със своя бенд от 8 музиканти. Шоуто е първото от поредицата музикални събития под надслов My Beat.
i know dis song from anywhere but i cant figure out where i heard it first...maybe a show or commercial i dont know please someone help me i gotta remember
Not bad. For the people talking about old vs new. There is good and bad new and old stuff. Some people tend to like to diss the present comparing to their past.
Maybe it is an human attribute that try to say the things were better in their time. Maybe it is psychological and more emotions were associated with it or the brain was conditioned with it so it tends to like it more. Whatever. They had beethoveen, you had the beatles, we had eminem, the kids now have lady gaga. :D
@TheYogurtMan62 Yes, people having their own likes might explain why people do potentially erroneous comments qualifying old vs. new stuff by trying to express their own preferences (e.g. music was better in the 80's). I can interpret it that way. Still I think it is often an easy and erroneous comment, and not only about music.
In some measurable topic like "there is more young mothers now than before because of the hyper-sexualization" there is a truth and I don't know which one it is.
@capimex the voice at the beginning is actually a real person, he was a midget, who was the mc at the new york club where blue note recorded live albums, possibly the five spot. the mc had a very nasty disposition, so he was referred to as 'half a motherfucker', by the musicions.
@capimex the voice at the beginning was a real person, the mc at the club where blue note recorded live albums. he was a midget, with a very nasty disposition. the musicians referred to him as "half a motherfucker"

Those years we had this gem, Guru (Loungin), De La Soul and many others experimenting, and I thought - rap/hip-hop is the healthiest form of contemporary music, cause it constantly changed, evolved.
But then - it just... stopped.
So I try to keep myself constantly reminded how it could have been, listening to this.

When this song came out, i was thrilled (and still am)! Jazz Rap? Hip Jazz? Rap Hop? Hip Rap? However the combination of this sound's called: I LIKE IT !
@papayalism when this stuff was the shit of the day, people were sayin the same thing about even older stuff.
Gotta agree though, this is still just as good as when it came out. Good times, young days, fun days, hot nights, street fights, worked cars, pumped bars, summer days, summer haze.
@papayalism yeah. fuck me, i cant even remember making this comment or even coming here. i must have been pretty damn high. i stand by the first part of the comment tho. wish i could remove the second part, but. Nevermind. Still got original CD in basement, from when it first came out. Crap, I'm getting old. :( In 20 yrs time, the 30 something crowd will be reminiscing over gaga, b**b*r, etc, saying "this is real music, I'm so sick of todays shit"
My brother and I used to argue over what the title of this song was. I'd say "Pass" or "What's That?," and he'd always say "Flip Fantasia." We were both wrong and didn't know it lol.
After 1 month I Finally found this.
