  • 15 people were looking for a high number.

  • As BF3 campaing taught me... don't trust solomon!!!!!!!!

  • It's Salomon Brothers, bunch wankers.

  • Nice

  • Comment removed

  • "Whoaahoooo, a HUNDRED FUCKING MILLION??!!!"

  • is this a commercial for redbull or an actual movie?

  • This is the worst movie ever. It's mixed with stock market, racism, terrorism and somehow a white irish drug dealer who works for ..... russians? It makes no sense. Awful.

  • @Trinder3467 A drug dealer working for russians. Totally unrealistic. Idiot.

  • @lashlashlashlashlash who are you calling an idiot? I never heard of such stories where an Irish gets so close to Russian Mafia.

  • @Trinder3467 well, this is new york. not st. pierre and miquelon.

    idiot.

  • @lashlashlashlashlash shut the fuck up. You are just jealous because you've never been where I am. Idiot. P.S fuck you and your theory.

  • @Trinder3467 Yes. Thats exactly what is the case here. Idiot.

  • @lashlashlashlashlash I'm glad we've come to an understanding. Fucking idiot.

  • @Trinder3467 Stick w/ The Rock & leave thinking to the rest of us. You don't have to like the film, but to call it the "worst movie" shows your lack of understanding. I can handle that you don't like it but i have come to the conclusion, that you are simply someone better off coloring and trying to stay inside the lines & trying to figure out why Vin Diesel didn't get an Academy Award for "Fast and Furious 12 or 13" or whatever the shit number they are on now. Now STFU & catch Star Warts again

  • 140-135! And it hits 138,000! Ha Ha! I mean Frank looks like he must have had a straight razor blade shave the night before and if that's not really clean shaven I don't know what is.

  • Leeson, Kerviel or Adoboli? Thats a very easy way to lose $2 billion. Moron.

  • 15 people listened to the Solomon brothers

  • You know, Mark Hues, do I come into your bedroom and tell you how to blow your boyfriend? No. Go away.

  • @jrfrancis15 wrong... he said " you smell like booze" .. (not bull) lol

  • too bad he doesn't explain why he thinks the unemployment rate will be low even though unemployment claims have increased.

  • You know what else is ironic? You've prob done something wrong in your life too. Do a search on him? Why? Your condescending comment was sufficient, no?

  • You know what else is ironic? You've prob done something wrong in your life too. Do a search on him? Why? Your condescending comment was sufficient, no?

  • You know what is ironic about this scene that no one who commented on here ever mentioned? The actor portraying the trader's boss who comes in and screams at him in the scene...was actually a real life executive at a trading firm that screwed around carelessly with clients' money...and he ended up in jail for 2 years. Do a search on google for 'Al Palagonia spent 25th hour' to see the article written about this "coincidence"

  • @J4Video Yeah Al was Top broker at D.H. Blair for years. He made tons of money and essentially ran the office. Spike Lee was one of his clients, who directed the movie, put him on the acting thing.

  • @J4Video Wow, I didn't knew that... Besides, he amazed me with his acting skills in 25th Hour, Inside Man and He Got Game. All of them made by Spike Lee...

  • i'm assuming there's a reason for that "mirrored" effect?

  • Trade according to your view, not ego :)

  • What movie is this from?

  • what's the name of this movie? There is a film with Edward Norton called 25th hour, though it has nothing to do with wallstreet. So what's the name of this movie?

  • @jetliigor it is 25th Hour, read the detailed synopsis on imdb

  • @jetliigor This is from the same film

  • Fuck Solomon Brothers.

  • good stuff

  • he is the sniper from saving private ryan

  • What movie is this?

  • @VentureCapitalist202 25th Hour

  • Great movie I need to go cop this on blu ray

  • bit of a liberty but great scene anyway - i found his boss's character's bang on the moolah in the way he delivers a big bollocking but acts as if - and means - it as no big deal once it's over -musta been milling around the trading floor getting a feel for it where in my own experience ppl -blokes mostly -often switch unself-consciously /schizophrenically from one mode of behaviour to the other - not an environment for the thin skinned- perfect for the cold blooded psychopath tho, lots of them

  • Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeit.

  • 12 people just got told how to blow their boyfriends...

  • what movie is this?

  • @jtru007 25th hour

  • well do the ladies ever tell you you look like a fucking optical illusion?

  • no fundamentals

  • @MrJohnChrome I think that was non-farm payrolls. The market takes a huge move if the reported number is not what was expected. I think they said they expected 240k and the actual number was 138K. That's very bad, meaning stocks are going down, usd is going down, fixed income assets are going up.

  • @dam417

ofcourse u mean the opposite...;? :)

    less unemployed=more got job =companies making money=stocks going up=inflation rises=rate goes up...

    cheers from sweden..

  • @originaljuve oh no, I actually meant what I said. The market was expecting 240K people employed. The actual number was less (138K). Therefore, all prices are correcting themselves to reflect the new reality, that less people were employed, so the economy is not doing as good as everyone thought.

  • @dam417 They clearly say "the unemployment number". It is even on the tv at the end of the clip....

  • @OFWGMF lol you are right. It must be Unemployment claims then, although I've never seen unemployment claims of 138K even going back as far as the year 2000. 240K is still very low. Those numbers look more like something that would happen during Non-Farm Payrolls report, which is what I was talking about. Plus NFP also has a bigger impact than unemployment claims.

  • @OFWGMF yeah, I think they made a mistake. The trader is even making fun of how silly it is that because unemployment claims have been dropping everyone thinks the employment number is going to be up, which he is betting that it won't.

  • do the ladies ever tell you , you look like an optical illusion

    gotta use that line

  • ...in real life this guy would wind up in jail, on the street or would kill himself.

  • LoL Osama Bin Laden is dead now :)

  • @TimothyFrankWebb How you know? And what good does that do?

  • That guy Shultz looks A LOT like Andrew Ross Sorkin

  • @MrJohnChrome

the weekly published jobless figures indicate possible economic impacts (e.g. future interest rate changes etc.) and hence market reactions...

  • do the ladies ever tell you that you look like a fuckin optical illusion?

  • ...."do I come into your bedroom and tell you how to blow your boyfriend???"......

  • 3:05 - Looks like Paul Allen

  • stop drinking your redbullshit

  • 1:03-1:05

    LOL!

  • bunch of sitnky shitty irish fucks in this video

  • @Crowebar550 lol you attempted to correct him,and you failed

  • @Victor8939100 in this video? One irish 'sitnky' fuck.

  • 10 people were long on "unemployment index"

  • You come in here drinking your red bullshit. (Favorite line)

  • barry pepper... so hawt....

  • on the real floor ,your not a human, there is no emotion, your a trader.

  • Lol - this guy would be fired from a real firm if those contracts hadn't been sold. risk manager would've noticed immediately and visited him personally, and stood by him while it happened. could've crapped the firm with that move

  • lokks like a stupid movie

  • You know what's funny?

Solomon Brothers is supposed to be Lehman Brothers in the movie.

    Looks like Frank was right.

  • I don't know a damn thing about stocks and brokers. I understand what he means about increasing wages and inflation going up and whatnot, but I seriously have no idea what the fuck was really going on this entire scene.

  • @jc790 He was bullish oil and was buying oil contracts in the futures market. If inflation goes up, the price of oil would rise along with other commodities.

  • @kusari86 inflation is a rise in the price of commodities.

  • @prodigee411 Commodities (supply) are not inflated, if they were the prices will go down as a result. What is inflated are the certificates that are meant to prove the productive input that people individually contribute to the economy. When banks counterfeit, they dilute that input by giving others certificates for input they have not contributed. It is theft. Inflation is the rise of the money supply, the effect of which is a rise in commodities.

  • Ten people wear striped shirts with striped ties...

  • 1) he's not a broker

    2) seems that he is a proprietary trader at Shreve Zimmer Investment Bank (doesn't exist)

    3) He is a cowboy, if he puts his whole account on 1 idea.

4)Thank you all and have a good night.

  • was he in bill and ted?

  • 1) Hold your breath.

    2) Copy all of these steps.

    3) Go to two other video.

    4) Paste it in the comments.

If you can do all of this without breathing you're a good pot smoker

  • amazing movie, strongly recommend it.

  • Wow this is exactly what the NFP number is like. It's like the suspense of christmas every month

  • great scene from a great movie

  • Relating the lowering of unemployment claims would = possible inflation but I don't agree with his argument. If unemployment claims go down = more people working = more money in the economy = more demand for goods = inflation. Not sure what unemployment claims going down would have anything to do with raising wages...but if wages were raised then we would have inflation too...Just never heard that argument.

  • @Johnny75851 Basic Phillips Curve argument. Inverse relationship between unemployment and inflation.

  • He's a trader...hes putting his company's money at risk not a client.

  • Probably a Hedge Fund considering the crazy bets he's making. Brokers find clients who they buy and sell securities for, its a totally different aspect of the business.

  • I wasted my time downloading the whole movie, hoping to see more scenes like that one ... nope ... most pointless movie ever shot this is the only good broker scene in the whole movie !!! Don't waste your bandwidth guys :P

  • @sajabz2007 What the hell are you talking about? Wall St. is not what the movie is about. It is a character study.

  • @sajabz2007 You deserve having your time 'wasted' for checking the movie plot. You'd be right at home on Wall St - brash decisions and incorrect assumptions.

  • If you are fine with starting FREE 50USD, check this out:

    /watch?v=dPKvO4hPWUA

  • here r a few mistakes in the scene :-) but it still shivers the hair on my ass!!!

i wait 4 this number every month n i count the minutes 2 hear it :-)

  • Do I come into your bedroom and tell you how to blow your boyfriend? No. Go away.

  • The movie's called "25th hour" it's about a guy going away to jail so he hsa a party with his freinds. The movie is not about traders.

  • "And btw, we're still on for court-side friday night, don't be late." LMAO that is sooooo an accurate depiction of what this business (sales in general) is actually like! that's why i love it so...just about the only profession where you can give your boss shit but it's still all good at the end of the day -- as long as you sell.

  • @PokrPro21 ur right is all about what can u tell me u sold today we could do megalines of blow right off my boss desk and all he wanted to know how much made me today , grest here is 2k go buy ur with and my gfriends a new purse or whatever , two types of people people that make shit happen, and people who ask what happen which fukin one r u

  • A little over dramatic for the boss to not have in his private office that over sensationalized confrontation with his employee.

  • This scene is so epic

  • Trade what you see and not what you think or believe... Close your trades 10 minutes before the news and don't place another until the next pullback or 15 minutes after the news release... All that fundamental analysis is BULL!!! :) lol!!

  • @gravitas1172 if were talking about prop trading that wouldnt really apply to a capitulation trade, but it all depends on your style of trading, im more into trading the news rather than technical analysis, personally i couldnt agree with you more fundamental analysis is bull..

  • @BenS65AMG For traders, fundamental analysis would definitely be bull because everything related to trading is bull. Trading is gambling. Fundamental analysis is only relevant when investing.

  • @BenS65AMG range trading all the way

  • @BenS65AMG Yes, SIR!!! I'm with you all the way on all accounts.

  • @gravitas1172 Lol that is why we take you money - techie traders loose 90% of their money.. becauee they don't understand the market and the fundamentals of it. Techie traders is just people looking for an easy way - but if you want to be good - there are no shortcuts.

  • @gravitas1172 fundamental analysis is bull, but can help u in the long-term

  • Did they ever tell you that you look like a beeping optical illusion lol hilarious

  • ....no words!!

  • he use to be my boss in real life!!!!

  • What r u 2 doin ??? u wanna be part of the unemployment??? get back to work!!! LMFAO

  • Barry Pepper deserves more attention, looking forward to "True Grit"

  • by the way were still on for friday nite...LOL arturo montenora

  • he just made a shit ton of money. jesus.

  • Barry Pepper should have higher status in Hollywood. Great actor!

  • 100 million dollars in OEX HAHAHAHAHAHAHA I love these guys, I totally love them please keep it up.........

  • yoo is that one of the guidos from summer of sam??

  • what movie is this?

  • @travispavlik 25'th hour, great movie

  • This is ridiculous with the haircuts, the shirts and cliches. Probably worked well in the movie, as I remember it was great movie.

  • "...means inflation goes up!"

    idiots love this stuff.

  • This is nothing like a real trading floor; nobody "cheers" and nobody "cries." Trading requires the mastery of your emotions at all times. The worst of situations is equal to the best of situations, that's what makes a great trader.

  • @prodigee411 Very succinct description.

  • @prodigee411 Actually this is exactly like a trading floor. I worked on two floors in three years. There IS cheering and crying. You have trading "mastery", as you put it, and then you have the reality which is a bunch of kids in starchy dress shirts pounding the phones and playing the slots with their fingers crossed.

  • @prodigee411 You've been reading too many books. A trading floor is an absolute roller coaster of emotions. It's damn near bedlam at most big firms, especially when important economic data and aggregates are released. Your analysis of what makes a great trader is absolutely on point, but it still doesn't mean that emotions aren't on the oxford sleeves of many of the traders in the room.

  • @gqlawmba have you been on b of a or goldman's trading floors? the only sounds are humming cpu's and a bit of small talk. i don't think you trade yourself.... gqlawmba... what a pretentious name you have.

  • @prodigee411 If you must know, yes, I have. I worked as an analyst for two years then for two years as an associate banker later in my career. I met my wife, a former flow trader, while working there. If you haven't worked there, I'm 99.9% certain that you've never seen the trading floor. You'd have a better chance finding out the recipe for Coca-Cola than seeing the trading floor without having worked there.

  • @gqlawmba Couldn't agree more

  • @prodigee411 pretty sure you're thinking of playing poker.

  • @prodigee411 i don't see how you can make money on unemployment numbers?

  • @hallnoats4ever well, you can straddle the ES(futures contracts), ZN or ZB. Essentially, you're taking a neutral position on where equities and rates are going to move; when you get filled, it's based on whichever direction the market goes.

  • @prodigee411 Trsut me, people do cheer.

  • @THECATSATONTHE3Q They also have jumped out of windows... nothing that happens on the trader floor would surprise me, theres a link to a youtube video of a trading floor brawl from a security camera. lol Nice try tho prodigee.

  • @prodigee411 fck you and your theory of what a trader is.

  • @prodigee411 Nobody cheers but they have jumped out of windows in the past?

  • @prodigee411

You couldn't be more wrong. You describing how a trader SHOULD behave, not the real thing. You think Goldman Sachs floor was silent with the collapse of Lehman? Or during the Google IPO?

the kind of control you describe exists only in firms that are adept of value investing, have long term strategies and don't care for market swings. Companies like GS, Merryl, etc which get +50% of their profits through hedges, options and other volatile instruments don't have the same luxury.

  • @prodigee411 lol yes it is. Obviously you haven't been on any real trading floors.

  • @ThePrivateJoker obviously you're a fucking idiot. go do something with your life, instead of worrying about what I'm doing.

  • @prodigee411 Obviously you are a McDonald's employee who has nothing better to do than pretend you know what you're talking about online. Now go thank your parents for letting you live in their basement for all these years.

  • @ThePrivateJoker obviously you're a fucking idiot. go do something with your life, instead of worrying about what I'm doing.

  • @prodigee411 As someone has pointed out, you haven't been to a real trading floor. Incredible how you've got so many thumbs up. That's at least 25 people who know absolutely nothing about trading.

  • @Veneratio10 oh shut the fuck up. you wouldn't last a day in the currency markets, you're a fuckin clown.

  • You look like a fucking optical illusion

  • @scarface7uk7 That line killed me when I first saw this film. I miss the east coast.

  • This film is criminally underrated and one of the best of the last decade!

  • This is a typical awful Hollywood stereotype of what a modern dealing room is like - but still one of the closest I have seen to reality

  • @valkythealky Then it's not their fault the stereotype fits the bills.

  • @danfrost313 lol

  • @valkythealky I wouldn't say this is the awful stereotype of what a trading floor is like. I've worked on two seperate trading floors. It is pretty accurate portrayal. The language and dress is certainly accurate. Nowadays, risk and compliance wouldn't let Frank put 100 million into one trade when that is his limit especially on futures contract but back then, maybe. You are riught though that it's the closest seen to reality. Still think Rogue Trader is the most accurate.

  • @Gman44324 hey yeah i didn't want to be too harsh - ultimately if they really showed what a trading floor was like then it would be a lot more mundane than people would think.

you must have worked at some right bucket shops if you think rogue trader is an accurate portrayal of the average professional dealing room at a bank ;-)

  • @valkythealky Well Rogue Trader definitely showed what an actual trading was like, unlike a bank floor. But I have worked on both floors of an exchange and a bank and honestly, I'd take the big floor over a bank any day. More people, more excitment, bigger picture. Only worked one bucket shop, for a week, then pretty much quit. Head Trader ended up leaving the country.

  • which movie is that ??

  • Is this movie about stock trading and the stock market? Or is this the only scene in the movie about stocks?

  • @750BruteForce4x4i This is pretty much the only scene about Stocks. The Movie is more about Ed Norton going to jail, and freaking out over it.
