i want to do this so bad, my only concern is the legality of driving up there when there is actually snow, and timing it right to be in hawaii at the right time. Whenever we get snow up on mt hamilton here in the san francisco bay area, they close the road to everybody except residents. I have been dreaming of snowboarding on hamilton for years but its pretty much impossible unless i buy a house up there...

we usually get several snow falls that last anywhere from a few days to a few weeks, up to a 6ft base at times. just when it melts down to where we cannot ride, it snows again. but nothing this winter.

@vicekitty Hello, I've been on Haleaka mountain on Maui. There was some snow.  We used the car heater to keep us warm on the summit then used the air condtioning to keep us cool when we went down. It help us adjust to the weather. We were driving in the clouds and snow on top and then tropical warm at the bottom.

@videohawaii apparently the only state with no snow right now, but saying that is really stupid. The Whole west coast is a freaking mountain range so of course we have snow. lol, I'm up in portland and it's 60 daily right now which is 20 above average it's crazy. El nino ftw

Yep, we were the only state to not have snow on the ground, it could have been 50 for 50. we are in serious drought right now, have had no rain since november.
