@wowgaynames they had to call it mp44 in the beginning to Hitler did not want a new weapon firing and "odd" round, they called it the mp44 to class it as a machine pistol so Hitler thought it was just an improved version of the mp40. When he decided he liked it he renamed it the sturmgewher 44 (stg44) or stormrifle. And so yes it is an assualt rifle not a submachine gun as it fires an intermediate round with an automatic action.

That Mauser 98K is in fact a Dboys airsoft model, not the real deal. You can tell by the bolt handle.

@MAKER6450 actually, they used MG42s alot... they had a firerate of 1200 bullets per minute while America's best machine guns M1919 browning and M2HB .50 cal could just fire 450 bullets per minute...

@ThePieMaster219, I do admit the MG42 was the best GENERAL PURPOSE machine gun, but the M1919 Browning is a thing we call a HEAVY MACHINE GUN, because it's bullets were extremly powerful, the 12.7x99mm round fired from the M2 Browning Machine gun has nearly four times the power and energy than the 7.92x57mm from the MG42, don't believe me look it up. Our GENERAL PURPOSE machine gun was the M1919A4 which is a copy off the M2 Browning heavy, our M1919A4 was bad compared to the MG42 though.

the mp40 wasnt called the schmeisser, he didnt even design it!! it was just produced in one of his factories...

He didn't design it. when allied soldiers picked up the MP40, they saw the name 'Schmeisser' on the magazine, hence the name Schmeisser

Firstly, the kar 98k was probably one of the best, if not the best rifle EVER! Sure enough the bolt action made it slow but the power of it was fantastic. they tested it and it can get through a modern peice of body armor used by the us swat! The MP 44 was also and amazing gun, the first assault rifle and the mother of them all! Andn the Luger!! and fantastic pistol, which i go by what brianl890 ( said, it is a gun which everyone knows, but was commonly mistaken with the Whalter!

I think you spelled "Walther" wrong in one of your intro screens. Good video though. I'm sure you know about it but I would correct it. The STG 44 was a revolutionary design using a shortened rifle round. Thankfully; it was late in the war when this design showed up. It was the inspiration behind the AK 47. An STG44 (full functioning) is a major collectors item.

I love the WWII weaponry. All those weapons are made of steel and solid wood. Now everything, including guns, are being made out of cheap composites and plastics. One gun I wish you posted was the Mauser 712, also called the "Broomhandle".

I have fired a vintage Luger pistol and must say the sights are HORRIBLE. The gun probably has potential for good accuracy with the fixed barrel though.

The Luger is based on an earlier Borchardt design. Toggle action. Quite complex really. The Nambu is only similar in appearance, nothing more. The Walther P38 was a super design and better than the Luger and the Nambu. The Luger is a sweet piece of work though and very collectible because, for whatever reason, it is an iconic pistol, that even novices will recognize. Many Walther P 38 pistols have been mistaken for Luger pistols by lay people too.

well the mp 40 was called the schmeisser by the allies. they named it after Hugo schmeisser, i know he didnt design the weapon but he did held a patent on the magazine. he did designed the mp41 tho...

I don't know why some people call an MP-38 and MP-40 a "Schmeisser". Hugo Schmeisser had absolutely nothing to do with the design. The MP-38 and MP-40 were designed by Vollmer and Geipel of Erma. Vollmer and Geipel hated the son of a bitch, and they even successfully sued him in the mid-1930s for patent infringment.
