This ad reminds me of a charity ad that airs here in Australia. It'd be lovely even sans strings, and sounds straightforward, but I haven't got 'round to putting it down yet! You might like it - try searching youtube for 'Angel Flight Ad Australia'.
Hey Andrew, Do you play for a living?? if not what do u do to support urself. I used to play the piano as a child but got as far as book 1. then parents moved. I miss it :) Paul
This is a beautiful composition. A truly magnificent piece of music. It seems so lost and wandering at first till it seems to find its way near the end. Beautifully played as well.
P.S. I have decided to favourite this (at least for a short while!) and to put it on my front page! I am partial to high quality new age music! Whoops - that's 5 times I've heard it now!
Well I've only listened to it three times so far so I'm not as qualified as SweetPianoGirl360 to say what an amzing video you've made here, Andrew! You know what this means - it means you're going to have to do requests more often! Was this really advert music for a Lexus? Wow - the composer had a good day there! Neat video work too. Oh dear, I've listened to it four times now! All the best, Jonathan
I would LOVE to hear you play Comptine d'un autre été. I found it when I typed in "piano" in the search. The video is a short animation and is entitled "The Piano" Its pretty emotional and frickin awesome.
Andrew, I've been following your site now for about six months. You are so very much everything a musician, an artist, can and really should be, and your music touches the heart. Wish I were your grandfather. Imagine how better it would have been for Chopin to have had real-time comments like this? Well, anyway, my words are flattering and inflated maybe, but are experssive of my feelings. Good work.
All music has a soul or beauty unique to it. I don't know what to call it. Ultimately it's our own limitations that prevent us from being able to appreciate a piece. Even something as simple as a student learning a scale can be appreciated - it can emote confusion, exploration, cautious determination, timidness, confidence, etc. Why a certain piece of music moves a person differs because we are all unique, the important part is that it can, and does.
It's a really beautiful song. =) Congratulations to the Composer on creating such a great piece, and to you of course, on performing it so beautifully! ^^ I especially love the tune, which starts at 0:56, it's amazing.
You're lucky that you've got such a wonderful landscapes in your city! ^_^ Great shots!
Yaay, I love your piano too - I wish I had one.
Well, this video is definitely worth favoriting. :)
I stumbled across your videos a year ago. You inspired me to get a small practice keyboard last Christmas and I've been following a lot of your lessons. I can play the C, F, G major scale, Twinkle-twinkle little star, some Ode to Joy some Star Wars, Good night ladies (first part)that's about it. I don't practice everyday, but I try. I don't have a peddle yet but want one. Keep up the great work.
Wow, a very beautiful song. It reminds me a lot of something by Nobuo Uematsu, but I can't remember exactly which piece. Out of curiosity I was wondering what exactly (in terms of music theory) would you describe that part in the beginning where the melody seems to be alternating between the lows and the highs? Counterpoint? When I hear it in songs they almost always have a introverted, or introspective, melancholy vibe.
Wonderful! Especially from abour 1 minute onwards. I vow to learn this song. Actually, dont me to that. But you know what Im sayin'.
P.S, Andrew, what do you think of Chocolate Skittle's? We dont get them over hear, but my Dad was in HAlifax visiting a freind and brought alod back. I like them.
You are the only reason, I restarted playing the piano (last lesson in 1989). I´m so deeply impressed of you. There are no words to describe how good you play!!! This piece is medicine for my soul....I´m one of your biggest fan!!! Greetings from germany!!!
^_^ wow! thank you so much for the nice comment! I'm honored to hear that my videos inspired you enough to start playing again!! Wow!! that's such a big honor!
When you're ready you should post a video of you playing up on youtube and show it to me :)
:) hey man! You're welcome! :) I enjoyed the song a lot! Thanks for showing it to me. It was perfect because it was so simple and short. I don't have much time, so anything I do needs to be able to be done pretty quickly. :)
i am slowly learning how to fish... but im not quite the fisherman yet... although i need a fishing rod, but they are TOO expensive!!! so for the meantime i shall starve...
yeh pretty much mate, i would love one but living in london isnt the best place for space and buying things cheaply. One day i will move to canada, since houses are huge and cheap! That day i will catch a BIG fishy to play with! PAT snowball for me! thanks for london!!!
*daydreaming* *daydreaming* *daydreaming* *sleeping*... wonderful mate, you are my source of inspiration. If i could play like that i will be travelling to wonderful places. 5* 8)
believe it or not, all those images were filmed by ME in the city I live :) I took the beauty from around me and put it into this song. The image of the yellow tree and blue sky is off my very own deck :)
