@NeilRoemx try with hollowpoints, RWS are alright, cut up tin foil into the tiiiiiinyest pieces u can, mix it with the pink match head paste, fill the nose of the hollowpoint with the paste, and everytime it dries, put some more on until you have a big pink tip on it, fire one of them at a wall, wooden baton, tree even, we made some here that are tracers (by filling the back) and explode on impact, theyre so loud with aluminium bits added that at 10 yards it leaves your ears ringing

Yes a small amount of explosive if contained correctly can be dangerous, but this amount is so small even when contained correctly you would struggle to do any substantial damage. When you have this in your hand you are OK because when you shoot it at something the lead crushes behind it, which contains the explosion, but that is because its moving at over 500fps, i doubt if you dropped it it would go that fast. I am also sure that matches are not illegal.

Should the match powder go off within the barrel, this should not pose a threat of explosion. I have done these tests over the years with the intention of an in barrel detonation and the steel of the barrel is strong enough to contain it.

@urikatron Hi mate cant help u with the brand as i binned the tin along time ago the calibre is .22 If you want something similar try bisley practice but if ur buying them to make exploding pellets then buy rws super-h-points as you can put the powder straight into the hollow point

@TheZooEscapee I use an air rifle a wiehrauch hw57 and i havent had a problem, if you want to be safe use super-h-points as the match powder has no chance of coming into contact with the sides. I am sure it would not explode in the barrel as the super glue would protect it. But if your not happy dont do it.

@zillicoz Well i have not tried it on any critters but i have missed the target and hit the ground and it has not gone off, so probably not recommended. How many ftlbs is that gun firing at?? There are some pellets that have a red sharp tip and then like a hollow point which allows penetration and damage/trauma there called predator polymag maybe give those a go.

@HIGHLIFE323MICHOACAN No it won't as long as you are careful, if any of the match stuff has gone down the side of the pellet then dont use it. This is why i use super glue to stop the match stuff lighting with friction on the barrel. I have used hundreds of them and haven't had one go off in the barrel.
