Of course there are some very good metal bands in UK and USA, but Scandinavia has been its home since i was born. Some of my favourites for example are the US band "Children of Bodom" and "Disturbed".

I've listened to alot of Death Metal and I promise you your opinion of it is incorrect. Theres all different genres within it, Cynic sounds completely different from bands like Autopsy and Morbid Angel.

@KnightAivengo i disagree, because one of the most influential power metal bands came out of Finland. That would be Stratovarius. Not to Mention Nightwish and Sonata Arctica are also power metal and Finnish.

All bands that you've mentioned came after and they play technically complex riffs and that's it. Almost all of theirs songs sound the same, in my opinion ) But! :) These bands much better than all death or black bands, it's true.

Its the symbolism and meaning behind the music that gets me. not the record company making trillions of dollars. However, I now firmly believe that Europe is the only place where true metal is still being made. Gamma Ray songs have more depth and melody than most N. American metal bands. Plus the vocalists are usually better..........
