@mekosl2 It took less then an hour to properly tune it with both the gasoline tune and the E85 tune, but we had to run the gas tune first at a very low tank in order to put in E85 in without deluding the E85 mixture.
lol i don't have a crack pulley i have a crank pulley, so how many times in the dyno or how long does it take to tune it? can you let me know what program that i should be looking for in a shop so they can tune the car and whats the e85 is it that the tune?
@mekosl2 the track was not E85 - I had two tunes - one for E85 and one for 87 octane. Don't bother with anything higher then 87 octane, it won't help unless you have nitrous or a turbo :)
ok well i have a 98sl2 with short ram intake, 56mm tb, 8mm ignition wires, light weight crack pulley , top motor mount from sps, fidanza 8,9lb light weight flywheel, act stage1 clutch, headers, random tecnologies 2.5 inch cat and custom 2.5 cat back. took the car to the track and got a 15.2 1/4mile but the clutch was bad do to lack of grip on 3rd and 4th gear. I want to tune, so I'm thinking of going with apexi safc but I don't know what kind of program is needed for the dyno to be able to tune
@mekosl2 awesome! I had a little bit more in the end - the rims you see are very light weight and low profile. I also modified the 5th gear to use the 99 SL1 transmission so it was like going from 4th to 6th gear - and honest 39 MPG with the car!
@mekosl2 SAFC II was installed later. This run was about 1 month before it was installed. I know if I would have brought the car back to the track it would have been able to pull a 14.5 with the port and polish and tune... It gained 16 HP when running E85 too (when I ran the E85 tune) !
