  • PRIUS unintended acceleration is a hoax,

it's the fcking floor mat that the messy attitude the american has.

Why it's only America complaining about it?

  • Taledark///

The Toyota cars don't last forever. After 20 or 30 years they just ugly away and people trade them to get better looking ones. Unlike the big three where they come in smoking/knocking/gears grinding and gasping for last breathe of air after a few years and a lot less miles than a Toyota was good for.

  • Well, its a fact. I know for sure Americans can't take this fact.

The Auto industry in the US is a dying industry just like textile, steel, home appliances , motorbike and many others in past

Now Japan comes up with their own regional jets called MRJ-70 and 90, which are reported 20% more fuel efficient than their competitors. Well, the US has enough reason to bash Toyota.

  • @liveitupalways05

Yes the Japanese thought the US wouldn't fight when they punched out Hawaii. Go ask some of the Brave Japanese Veterans if the US will fight. This country has got the smartest most capable people in the world. We've got the inmates running the government.

This country is also the most generous in the world. Ask the Germans and Japanese who fed them until they got on their feet. The car industry can out do the Japanese with one hand tied behind them if they decide to.

  • Take this fact; Toyota and Japanese Cars are Coffin Cars,Thats a Cars of Choice for suicide 99% dont survived on head collision,or accident.

If you love your kids and your family sticked to American or European Cars

  • @mcbong10

really? any facts to support your wet dream?

  • @tokyocityrat YOU JAPS ARE DOOMED!!Iha,ha,NO ONE IS BUYING JAPANESE PRODUCTS!!and keep hating the foreigners living in your sucked Country!!YOU JAPS ARE POOR!!!

  • @mcbong10

Wake up and see the facts. Guys like you actually made where GM is today.

  • @tokyocityrat YOU JAPS ARE DOOMED!!POOR JAPS!!NO ONE IS BUYING THEIR JAPANESE PRODUCT!!and Keep hating the foreigners living in your SucKed country!!and eating dolphin as well!!

  • I had a 88 Astro van. It had a problem with the new serpentine system. The power steer bracket would break off. I called GM recall to talk safety. They were not interested! They informed me driver seats were breaking & bring that recall in. They had complete records of seat repairs but not concerned with power steering.

Hmmm I started buying Toy. and will continue to buy Toy..No problems GM stinks. Steel bracket was replaced next year with thick alum. I believe they knew the problem.

  • AND EDUCATE THE PEOPLE

  • RECALL ALL THE GREEDY LAWYERS

  • Recall this Zimmerman guy and Aunty Rhonda in the first place

  • Great work, Toyota. Your cars were always UGLY, drove like you were sitting inside a bowl of Jello, and now they're also deathtraps! I've got to say I'm real happy to see it. I've got a sleek-looking 2000 Chrysler car that I love (Dodge Stratus) and while reliability has never been all that great, at least I don't have to worry about my gas pedal killing me. What goes up must come down right Toyota? Maybe next time you'll learn.

  • @carrieyazel

If you are driving "sleek-looking 2000 Chrysler" instead of BMW or Porsche, you cant afford buying a new Toyota or Lexus. Why do you care about Toyota in the first place ?

But, you don't look a good prospective customer to those Detroit producers either tho.

You sound more like a clown.

  • @liveitupalways05

Toyotas are unsafe garbage. And I recently bought another car, a 2009 Lincoln LS. So you are wrong. Japanese cars are terrible garbage. I will never buy an Oriental car.

  • These problem with Toyota will only make them a better car manufacturer ! hope they lower their car price,i'm still a buyer !

  • @mrpokemon5250

you want a toyota ? i guess you got a death wish . why you don't kill your self like the yakuza's do " ritual suicide " . its less painful and cheaper ...

  • Years ago Toyota wanted to take GMs place in sales, and it looks like they've gotten their wish... actually more than they bargained for by replacing GM's role, not only in sales...............

  • If the government owns Chrysler and GM, isn't it a conflict of interest or even against anti-trust laws for them to investigate and take action against Toyota for their recent gas pedal/ brake problems? The hubbub today is how American Auto industry is capitalizing on Toyota's problems of late.

  • toyota has always been subsidized by japan and that doesnt stop japan from effectively stopping ford/gm products being sold there. i dont see why our government cant stop toyota from killing innocent americans.

  • Is toyota venza 2010 has same problem ?

  • We're all so concerned about Toyota's that are made here in the US while at the same time this administration ignores over 14 millions unsafe Gen3 Seatbelts in Dodge, Chrysler, Plymouth, Jeep from 1993-2004 where people have been "ejected" from their vehicles. Chrysler even witnessed crash test dummies being ejected but still used the design. Instead they were given billions in bailout money and helped to be "given" away to FIAT, an Italian company.

  • Why is it that only Toyota is being attacked or criticized? What about Ford or the GOVERNMENT'S COMPANY GM? Are their cars all clear? without any kind of accidental problems???????Think about that!!!! When Toyota becomes number 1 in America, suddenly this kind of

national movement that was triggered by the media occurrs!! I feel government's oppression.

  • @hihihohoho007

because we had to listen to fucking toyota owners saying their cars were made by Jesus, and it will last forever.

So now we can fucking piss in toyota owners face.

  • @liveitupalways05

so toyota has no quality control?

don't they test their cars? Does toyota let 20 people die first before calling a recall?

  • @taledarkside

toyota can't afford crash dummies anymore , now they are using real people . lol

  • I mean, first of all, the fuckin parst was made by an American manufacturing company!! Its NOT MADE IN JAPAN!!! Its like MADE IN USA!! Damn it!! TOyota has to ask AMerican manufacturing companines to make some of their parts in order to evade trade conflict. But that eventually lead this problem.

  • ho- Guess what my American friend? CTS out of Indiana is a scapegoat used by toyota. CTS was and has been honoured by toyota several times for quality products and service, SUDDENLY they are the bad guy. The real problem is SUDDEN UNINTENDED ACCELERATION, not accel pedals sticking to the floor. SUA has been happening since '99. toyota started using CTS from '05. SUA happens because of ETCS-i in the GR-FE engines made by DENSO IN JAPAN.

ALL of the very recent recalls have GR-FE engines. ALL

  • Don't you smell someting fishy guys? the problems comes out only when Toyota are firing all its cylinders and reving up sales while its competitors are dying slowly to the graves !

  • The hypes on Toyota's problems by western media will not stop smart people from buying ,because there's nothing better & reliable than Toyota cars!

  • poker- Wrong. Racist scum.

  • "The hypes on Toyota's problems by western media will not stop smart people from buying" the "hypes" may not, but its kinda hard to be a repeat customer when your killed in your kamikazi mobile.

  • Japan has only 100 recalls.bet the US does this for, again money.

  • kenkun- Wrong. I bet North America does it to be safe from dangerous toyota cars.

  • why NHTSA? not THAT big deal, huh.

  • "taledarkside" No!! I know where to look for facts without you questioning me for source. I personally threw those surveys away when I got them. Where do you get unbiased facts unless you get them yourself and have it certified. When you get certifiable facts then we can discuss mine.

  • Ok Mr Taledarkside. I'm impressed with your credits. I also was engineer and worked in industry. I was in mechanical and electrical engineering for 30 years. Also Radio engineer. If you want exact specifications on reports I suggest you go audit the books of each manufacturer and get it certified as correct. I don't have that much time. Therefore I believe the reports as basically true. what do you do?? I have bought enough Detroit to make my mind and don't need you making recommendations.

  • @1u51u4

are you stating..... you believe consumer reports is true?

because the reports that consumer reports does is send its magazine subscribers a survey of the reliability of their car. And that is where your getting your info.

  • I love way people are downing Toyota. The parts are US on some models. Gm and ford has had hundreds of boo boo's over 20 years and same people think they did a fine job. NOT REALLY. We have real world. Anything made by man complicated will have problems. The question is: their intentions as for as repairs go. Do they intend to make the buyer whole again? Fords had fires in garages, exploding gas tanks and Explorer turn over due to high center of gravity,,,dodges had ball joints and on and on.

  • @1u51u4

because toyota owners are idiots. They believed God made their Toyotoa and it will never fail.

    they got 0wned

  • Well Toyota did not have to work hard to be #1. The big three past quality was so bad a wheelbarrow company could trump them. If their quality had been good then Toyota would still be in Japan. I don't want to argue. I have bought enough of them over the last 30 years to know. Do you work for them???

  • @1u51u4

No, I'm an engineer with a background in automotive technology

People are just idiots because they read consumer reports and base their assumptions on that in buying a vehicle.

so mexico cars suck, because VW, ford and gm are building cars there?

  • The Electronic Control Module on 2001-2003 RAV 4 models are defective. But instead of uninteded accl. the computer tells the transmission to shift into the wrong gear and causes stalling. There are over 100 complaints filed with NHTSA for this problem alone, yet the government has not yet acted. The story was reported by the NY Times.

  • The funny thing about JAP CRAP is, in this case the defective part was built by an American manufacturer in Detroit.

  • @seacruse

And it was built to toyota specs.

strange that toyota is the only one with this issue

  • its also funny that the part going wrong is built in ohio usa.

  • @88durham

    designed by toyota.

and all i saw on the news was them needing a "shim" for a fix

  • This emergency (sticky accelerator) is SO EASY TO HANDLE! COME ON GUYS, EVEN my 3 yr old know what to do!!!!!!!!!!! shift the transmission to NEUTRAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ALL cars LET you do that no matter what!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • just the gm truck are recall over 111 time

  • JAP CRAP AHHAHAHAH!

  • Toyota should change their slogan from "moving forward" to "AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH, HELP ME GOD, THIS PIECE OF SHIT WON'T STOP!"

  • i almost die in my shitty ass 2005 corolla while driving on the highway cuz the fucking ecu failed and the car was shaking like a motherucker and couldnt accelerate to pull over to the side of the road. Fucking toyota

  • Also with keyless ignition, just hold the button in for three seconds and it will kill the engine. The safety part is there, people just don't read the manuals to understand the keyless system in parts.

  • @FLJAMESFL

or u could try pressing it rapidly, because they were designed to have the driver panicking, and not to calm, so they would kee pressing it.

  • Owner of IS 350. Not a floor mat problem. Unless you tamper with them they are secure under hooks. Computer or sub assembly electrical control problem my guess. Maybe rf energy from high powered cb amps ect from adjacent trucks & cars. Engine is 306 hp and hand brakes probably would not provide enough breaking.

  • @1u51u4 One thing that they are under hooks, but have you looked to see what those "hooks" are "secured" to? it doesn't take much for them to become unclipped with your feet unintentionally or by cleaning your vehicles interior.

  • Nevermind floor mats - Toyota should simply put together a very short video explaining how to turn an ignition key anti-clockwise (off) as opposed to clock-wise (on) and also touch on the wonderous ninth wonder of the world, the 'hand brake'.

  • the car he was driving has push button ignition, as long as the key is in the vehicle it starts at the push of button and there isnt an off switch. the car has a safety device that doesnt allow shifting into park/neutral while accelerating to protect the transmission/engine from damage. on the 911 call he specifcally states the brakes had quit working, this wasprobably due to them riding the brakes in an attempt to stop and overheating them.

  • Holy shit - of course!

  • after reading/watching other vids/articles witnesses did indeed state the cars wheels were on fire a sure sign of overheated brakes.

  • It's the god dam ECU people! I love what you do for me toyota! HAHAHAH JAP SHIT!!

  • its not the mats, cuz i've heard people without mats in their toyota that has these problems.. poeples pedal are getting stuck and toyota is trying to save some money by sayin that its the mats.. and on the Lexus ES you cant even put it on neutral while the is in motion.. toyota is are death machine

  • As far as having no brakes, you DO have brakes, but the power assist is gone or much less because the throttle is open-no vacuum assist when the throttle is open. You have plenty of vacuum assist for braking when the throttle is shut. If in an emergency with no power assist, STAND on the brake, it still works.

  • In any modern car, you can turn the key "off" while driving, and kill the engine. The key position is actually the accessory position, and WILL NOT lock the steering wheel while you are coasting-it would have to be in "park" to lock the steering.

  • The news said it's not the floor mats

it's a bad setup, the gas can get stuck

  • Comment removed

  • I have a 2009 Prius and this "stuck accelerator" happened to me. It is not the floormat. I was able to get the car off the road and when I put it in park, the car settled down. It would not do this if it were the gas pedal.

  • thats straight out bullshit, how did a floor mat make the car speed up and stop the breaks from working.

  • don't worry about the engine blowing most new cars have a fuel cut , the computer will cut fuel at a certain rpm

  • Yes turn the key off then click it back to on position to insure the steering wheel doesn't lock .

911 operator should have instructed to do so right away .

or just reach own and pull back the mat

  • Can you just turn the ignition off whenever the accelerator gets stuck? Would that have saved the guys family?

  • You have to turn it too on after you turn it off. Or acc in some cars. If you turn it off some cars have a locking steering wheel. I would have just stuck it into neutral.

  • What is more important issue here is to put the car in Neutral very fast. If you have to think about this your going to have problems. After shifting to Neutral you can turn off engine. Restart engine to brake and slow down. Engine will be racing and could blow . I had to do with a 1993 Hyundai Vehicle. American Cars usually dont have this problem.
