Have you ever watched Al Jazeera's daily programming? I was in Athens last summer, around August I think, and saw it on. I watched it two days in a row and didn't see anything to support the negative hype it gets. It was really just shitty news about the aftermath in Palestine and the Gaza strip and weather reports. Seemingly no bias either.

I'm not exactly sure. They were only "suspended" from country when I was there. I know now they have changed their name to Xe and focus mainly on training.
Here in Afghanistan they also do flights from base to base either with rotary or fixed wing called "Stol" flights. These are not combat flights, just transporting people and supplies.

You state that you knew the connection to 9/11 and WMDs was "spin" and I would like to know how you knew before any of us here. Once all the pro-war Americans were drafted and found themselves in Iraq their parents and they themselves would cry out to their congressmen and senators that they want to be back home where they can sit in a Starbucks drive-thru waiting for their coffee and then go home to play Doom all day long.
The war would have ended in 2002 if they had drafted Americans and Iraq may have even welcomed the "Coalition of the willing".

gw, reinstate the draft. My Sen. Schumer sent me a message, saying he is going to back preemptive strike on Iran. 5 mos. ago, I got same message from my (d) Rep. Joe Crowley (btw, he is Bush's cousin, descendant of Aleister Crowley) about strike on Iran. write and call your senators and reps., "NO MORE WAR."

They have no identifiable uniforms, represent no country and are accountable to no nation's law (and apparently international law too).
They would fit the definition of illegal or unlawful combatants as defined by the GWB administration. So, if captured, could be kept in another country's Gitmo.

These guys aren't just blowhards off the streets, the majority of them are ex-military. And not just the average soldier, they are the cream of the crop. Rangers, Seals, Special Forces even East Bloc soldiers. Many see it as a way to serve with out the BS and get paid what they should, not the piddley allowance that they were paid on active duty.

Why is GWB paying billions (2/3 of contracts NO BIDS) to mercenaries, when our troops still do not have the proper equipment and body armour they need to survive in Iraq!!!
