I give credit to the many recording artists that have covered this amazing song,but 'this song' belongs to the Mighty Drifters......a MONSTER R&R hit and 'only' the Drifters can do it justice and show us the pure genius and beauty of this Beloved 1960s AMERICAN CLASSIC !! I was nine years old when i first heard it, and have played it probably 2,000 times since first hearing it back in fabled 1964.
