@supchaka Considering the added weight and not that much stronger servo, I'd say a bit of both.. The Baja's are 2wd and weigh about 3 times what a 1/8 weighs. They are reaching near the same speeds as 1/8, although taking longer to get there. Given all this they don't handle as well as the worst handling 1/8.
@Traxxaspro123 well you must be blind or dont know wat 5 mph is........There only look slow due to there weight and the track limits, but put these bad boys in a straightaway and there moving so fast, not even a 1/8th scale would keep up!!!!!!!!!
@carbonrocket 1/5th scare requires a hiher initial investment but over the long term it winds up costing less then 1/8th scale. Fuel costs / engine life etc etc are much cheaper then the 1/8th scale equivlents.
I wanted a 1/5 car, looked at Baja HPI, purchased 300$ in ALLOY, and realized, I would have to spend a additional 300$+ just to make a dependable car...(suspension limiters, phatdad shock legs, dif pipe (stock one is rubbish)
Now I see the MCD EVO4!....
I am buying that....and never looking back...
THe HPI Baja is a money pit, and basher only...
Not nice handling like a MCD ....Baja needs there whole steering redesigned...
1/5 scale is good if you have good drives
