  • Apparently this item was discontinued... what are people uising these days to print to on discs?

  • I purchased the dympOdisk painter and all I can say is save your money. They say you can do 100 cd's per ink cartridge, i'm on my 3rd cartridge and I have done less then 15 cd's in total. When it works it does a great job but sooner or later a disk will keep spinning and when you take it out it has ink all over it and then it says you need more ink. I bought 2 cartridges for 35 dollars and niow I just bought another and its now 50 dollars. I have contacted them and they never respond. DO NOT BUY

  • what dual layer dvd do you use

  • does the ink rub off

  • @geebones if wet,yes

  • DYMO DiscPainter has 64 bit windows update

  • These DYMO Disc Painters are obsolete now.

The new computers being sold now are 64 bit windows.

So these Dymo Disc Painters only work with the old 32 bit computers.

DYMO refuses to make a installation CD for computers using 64 bit windows.

    Get a HP Photosmart D5460 Printer .

It does the same thing the DYMO Disc Painter does.

Putting photos and text directly onto your cd or dvd.

And they only sell for 80 dollars.

    Check them out.

  • I am a recording artist and am seriusly considering purchasing one of these printers.

  • same here

  • According to Dymo, one can use any inkjet printable cd/dvd's to print onto. I have used the glossy white (really nice), the textured white coating, and the silver coating. But had trouble with the Silver Inkjet Printable DVDs even from thier suggested mfg. We sent the printer and they said it worked. Got my money back.

  • 32 bit only :( NO XP/Vista 64 bit drivers at all. Simply unacceptable for a $300 printer. What were they thinking. Other dymo products have 64 bit drivers, are they already trying to phase this discpainter out and abandon support?

  • I'm buying one. Will report back and let everyone know how well it works ^_^

  • The DiscPainter WILL NOT PRINT ON SILVER INKJET PRINTABLE DVD-Rs!!! Please if anyone knows a work around on this issue I would appreciate it. I have several brands of silver inkjet printable dvd's and they all fail to have the design printed on them. Here is my number used to file a complaint with Dymo about the their so-called inkjet printer. Reference Number: 081109-000021.

  • You need to use the reflective white ink jet printable surface DVD-R's. Not DYMO's fault, yours.

  • I went ahead and bought the Epson Artisan 7 printer at Fry's for around 149.00 and it does an extremely outstanding job of printing onto ANY INKJET PRINTABLE CD/DVDs. And you can use the DiscPainter software as well or Acoustica

  • What? $279. Are you @#%ing crazy? They only retail for $189. on Dymo's website. Fry's Electronics has them in stock, for $179.99 No rebates, no promotional ads, no gimmicks!

  • just checked out Fry's electonics.. it's $279.99 not $179.99..... if you see any things.. let me know! ^_^

  • I have a DiscPainter and it is awesome. Full color labels printed right on CDs/DVDs in 1 min. My old canon printer had feed tray problems and only worked right 50% of the time. This is definitely better. I paid 199 for my DiscPainter.

  • 279 bucks

  • Its funny how the man makes using a regular inkjet printer look difficult by exagerating how he has to fumble with the cover and disc tray. Totaly exagerated LOL. I use my Canon printer to print to cd and using it is very easy, oh and it does other things like print photos and text etc.

  • I want one, and tune

  • I want one

  • wonder how much this'll run...
