I remember playing this one in a donut shop at 4 AM. A friend and I got off work after stocking shelves in a grocery store and we stopped in for an after work snack. We were the only wide awake people in there because everybody else had just began their day. I also had this game for my Atari and I played a marathon session one day and made it through 100 screens. By the time I was done my legs had fallen asleep and it seemed like I didn't get the feeling back into them for hours after.
Wow, I remember being on holiday in Llandudno, North Wales on the Pier in the amusement arcade where a Chinese guy was having a go on this and had about 30 lives he was amazing,he had been on if for ages and a group of people stood behind him watching like he was God. At the time he was a genius but kids today would say hes a beginner.Such a classic game and sounds great 32 years later.

In Version 1.0 - This remaining lives to gain 2 or 3. To bonus lifes for 7000, 10000, 12000, 20000.
In Version 2.0 - Is a lives remaining on the 3 or 5. To get bonus lives by 4000, 5000, 7000, or nothing.

This game was definitely a "Holy Crap" moment when my second-grade self first encountered it at the local audioanimatronic pizza joint.
Big leap forward in graphics and gameplay.

Same here.
I had a go, and it looked easy - the aliens didn't even move down the screen. Then one of them breaks away and comes flying at me!
"That's not fair!!" I wailed as, after 3 screens, they were swooping down on me like angry killer wasps.
