  • apart from King sejong , and Jang young shil ( who manufactured 2 stage rockets..I may say that may be the first in the world) probably Commander Yi Soon shin are only great leaders I know of Choseon Kingdom...

is there anyone else that some korean historians can suggest..

  • japanese army is good in land warfare.korean navy is good in naval warfare but they lose in "The battle of chilcheollyang"........

  • general dodo hahahahahahahahaa

  • Lol? Did I just hear Prokofiev's "Dance of the Pagan Monster"?

  • Hmmmm ... Im just wondering why someone would make an movie about some people fighting about me ? (Yes, my name's Okpo)

  • A lot of things wat ur parents and ur teacher teach u today, r actually said by confucius first. At a time of warring states, he ended the chaotic confusion of wat should be done to improve humanity. His work enlightened, influenced, and improved the east asians, be it in philosophy, living condition, and moral, for more than 2000 yrs, yet right now u r telling me that he is useless?! Actually not only u, a lot of Chin also do that... He is dead and even when he is dead ppl should blame him..

  • His most important contribution is that his work actually "brainwashed" ppl to become more humble, mild, and unified rather than being blood-thirsty. This contributed greatly to the decrease of the amount of internal conflict that is going on in many other parts of the world(be it India etc.). He himself encouraged students to learn new things, but his students distorted his work, and everyone only study his work, and that created the problem.

  • Confucius taught principles from Holy Bible 500 yrs before Jesus is born, but he didn't ask u to pray, becuz he was a non believer in god and ghosts. He is the first to implement the idea that there r no bad students but bad teachers. These examples were countless. Confucian philosophy is not about science, it is more of a life philosophy, which is beneficial for individual's life. He helped to improve the chaotic and deformed east asian society.

  • The best sentence you can bring up at 4:33 is: "Oh, shit!!!"

  • hmmmm if the korean army was so tough and invincible i wonder why they never retaliated by trying to invade japan hmmmmm i wonder why (cant wait for the hate mail)

  • did the joseon dynasty fought with ming dynasty before ?

  • 4;36

    "oh shit!!!" lol

  • mixing the ingredients of gundpowder during the fight instead of having a ready to use gundpowder prevents fire and explosion in the ship

does the europeans even come up with this simple yet effective idea?

    i guess not

    asians are the best

    ASIAN PRIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @lcddg

I think it's simply because the concept of corn powder had not yet come to Korea at that time.

  • @lcddg

I like the way you're claiming your asian pride... in english.

  • @Rephrenix well if i post this using my own language then you wouldn't be able to understand it and you wouldn't like it like you did in my earlier post..use your brain dude it's free

  • @lcddg

And thats thanks to the europeans (that you find so stupid) who established their financial hegemony over the world.

  • @lcddg

I know right. Asians are aweome!

  • @lcddg I also means having to take manpower or time to mix gunpowder in the middle of a fight, did you ever think of that?

  • @gerbenvanessen not to mention teaching a lot of people how to properly mix it.

  • @lcddg I've been studying world history for some time and I have come the conclusion that Europe would not have amounted to anything were it not for countless Asian innovations and inventions. Being Asian myself, I applaud your claim of Asian Pride. *claps

  • I want to fairly warn you before asking any questions. Please actually have even halk an ounce of thought before you ask anything. Anyways, during this time the Joseon (Korea) Kingdom was still demilitarized after several sckirmishes in past from Koryeo. Joseon was never intended as a militaristic Kingdom as Korea were peace loving and were very strict isolationists. Though I understand the root of your question because Koguryeo's armies were probably a 100 times more better equiped than Joseon.

  • yea well i think Korea(Joseon) would have done much better in the course of history if we weren't chanting useless confucionism 24/7 and actually got on our asses and accepted western customs(i know Korea did but it was too late). that's why we got ate up by Japan and shit. We can't complain Japan for eating us up though.. that's just part of the food chain. am i wrong? but fuck. imagine how pimped out Korea would have been? we could have became a key player in the game of imperialism..

  • if we had accepted Western traditions early on and modernized...

  • That was the problem with both China, Korea and Japan. Its just that when the Japanese started it earlier, Meiji Era. While China and Korea were trying to figt them off with swords and muskets while the Japanese came with rifles. Too much corrupt officials in both China and Korea at the time. Still believing in that god is on their side...

  • I am proud that Korea did never commit imperialism since the idea of imperialism is a foundation of the problems we have today. Most countries in the world were controlled by another country and most of these colonies faced negative outcomes. I don't really want to read the history books that state that Koreans did horrible acts against its subjects but I did wish Korea had the strength to defend itself and the power to influence.

  • @RoyalRed0926 Before modern technology and modern ideas of politics come into place. Confusianism makes the most sense to isolated and agriculturally-based civilizations. Some of the principles r still in affect for example the respect for the elders, ppl should be humble and respect each other, and ppl should always study new things and search for enlightenment. These principles r the basics for a homogeneous society, and it is the reason why Joseon lasted for that long.

  • @RoyalRed0926 without Confusionism Korea would be a lot more chaotic and would probably create troubles like Jap. So really trouble is always bad for societies as a whole, confusianism actually benefited Koreans for so many years before western technology come into play. Korea was isolated; Korz r sticking to their old tradition. that is the reason for Korea's slow growth. It really has nothing to do with confucius, becuz Confucius actually encourage ppl to learn new things...

  • @RoyalRed0926 history can't really be assumed. Don't always put an "if" when u read history, cuz how do u know what's gonna turn out?

  • What they are wearing actually is better than those of the Japanese. Back then, wearing armor would be a curse on ships. You will drown.

  • uhhh no... then why didnt the korean land army wear armors like the japanese did? fuckin joseon dynasty was a disgrace. all joseon did was be china's tributary bitch and study confucionism.. like wtf is confucionism gonna do when western/japanese army comes marchin through ur country? i miss those good old times of goguryeo.

  • Then you should have made your question a little more clearer in the first place. The reason why is because at the time Korea was quite corrupt. All countries have a corrupt time. I think it was also in their belief that their archery skills, which was good, could eliminate the enemy before melee combat.

  • joseon fell to Japan but you must remember that Goguryeo fell to the Shilla alliance as well, so neither dynasty was invincible. and joseon's accomplishments of Hangul under King Sejong and Admiral Yi's victories of a relatively pacifist kingdom against an extremely militaristic Japan make his victories even more impressive. Every dynasty (Choson, Shilla, Koryo, Joseon) has aspects for Koreans to be both proud and ashamed of.

  • I think of Korea's power in asia as the Western Roman Empire. It's power and influence in Europe had longed diminished after Augustus had died and it came under attack by many different Germanic tribes. Korea had been like that for a while but we always have heroes who bring us back. Every country needs a hero.

  • @RoyalRed0926 You just got beat back with tolerance.

  • @RoyalRed0926 iron is expensive and the majority don't wear it. but they probably had better armour than what is shown here

  • @RoyalRed0926

They're wearing the Korean equivalent of Robin Hood's dress.

  • @RoyalRed0926 Wow. Why do you generalize korean people as looking "lame"? What they are wearing looks rather strange but that doesn't give you the justification to bag on koreans. Don't forget, clothing fashion in most cultures in the late-sixteenth century were what you call "lame". Just wait, in less than a decade, someone is gonna think what you are wearing now is "lame".

  • @RoyalRed0926 if koreans look lame u look lamer

  • i didnt no koreans are strong but now i see hmmm

  • Which episode is this from, again?

  • episode 61 i think

  • pls upload more battles

  • pls upload more videos of battles

  • pls upload more batltles

  • dont mess wit the koreans!

  • okpo battle was the first victory of korean navy.

before okpo battle, korea army fall a series of defeats and korean people depressed.

japanese army occupy hanyang the capital of korea(now Seoul). and occupy Pyeongyang. only in a month.

navy's victory consequently block the supplies by yellow sea route.

korean civilian uprise and counter attack to japan army. japanese army supply become difficult, so Japanese army cannot help retreat from Pyeongyang and Seoul.
