i am always a bit cautious about move/tv shows made into games, the vast majority of the time they suck because the company knows that the fanboys will buy it regardless of the quality, if they do not release a trial that would be a bad sign because why would they not want you to try it first if they was confident with it? no trial.= no thanks i dont trust it, i like star trek but i like quality games more.

Its made by Cryptic it will suck and be ridden with Nerfs and need to be patched every 10 minutes. Avoid this game for at least 2 months, until you see some postive feedback. Champions online, another Cryptic game, is crap!!

Cryptic is the same company that brought you City of Champions, then dumped their customer base to make CO, which is a bug ridden, pile of shit. Seriously wait save your money, and wait for reviews. Not fanboys either, they'd like shit so long as its Star Trek.

Not really. When available, there will be nonviolent solutions to problems. Also, most of the map does not allow PVP. Also, in most PVP areas, you have to consent to fight, so you can go through 90% of the game without fighting. Besides, what kind of game would it be if there was no way for you to contest yourself against other players?

You make it sound like you can fly into the neutral zone immune because you havent declared yourself a combatant. Truth is if you enter disputed regions of space, your fair game. Thats how it'll work, which is fine. Just dont fly into restricted areas if you cant dish out the damage lol. Good thing about this game is there is choice, you could go through it all never doing real pvp.

PVP will only be in the Neutral Zone. you all so have to agre to it there is no forced pvp in this game.

Your character will still be able to choose from a variety of career paths, such as Engineer, Tactical Officer, Doctor, Science Officer, etc. Your career path is your root, and will affect your skills, and how you command your crew.

That is true, even tho it is not decided yet, the probability of this game being pay to play is 99.999999%. I just Copy/Pasted whats on their FAQ page.

Anyways, I would refuse to play this game if it was not pay to play, I would refuse to play any MMORPG that is not pay to play, because if it's not, your just going to reach engame and then it'll take like 3 years for them to come out with 1 new instance or whatnot because a lack of founds.. In other words impossible to play long term imo.
