  • cant you just make a video about wich flies you use for the diferent sorts of fish (sorry for the spelling im from Denmark9

  • good music choice.

  • what fly are you using, or what fly works the best?

  • @huntinandfishin321 Anything small fly with rubber legs or a caddis works well.

  • @Kev2380 I caught over 50 bluegill and other panfish in 4 days on one fly bait. they truely are some of the most aggressive fish. one jumped nearly a foot out of the water when it grabbed it.

  • I am 12 yrs old right now and i started fly fishing 2 years ago and i still love it! I use bugle bugs i think that how you say it. But it really tears up those bluegills...But not to long ago i cought a 5 lb 5oz largemouth bass on it.Longest fight i ever had on it a fly rod. Btw Awesome catches there.

  • @superkyle332 Still crazy after all those years!

  • @WorldClimb It is!

  • i got a 4 wt fly rod for bluegill and small bass the other day i caught about a 11" smallmouth on it with a red san juan worm that i tied. It was a nice fight..and the other day i hooked about a 8 lb channel cat..and it was pullin drag,haha..came off tho.

I tie almost all of my flies..I make up stuff.I made a fly out of hares ear dubbing that looks like a grub or bee moth, and it tears up the gills,Works weighted or floating,

  • @fishnkid1923 Sounds like fun. Try putting rubber legs on your flies. Bluegill can't resist anything with rubber legs.

  • yeah, goin tommorrow..gotta get some fishn done before 6 pm hahaha..then im gonna go zombie huntin

  • Me and my dad just started fly fishing, so far ive only had success in the mayfly patterns.

  • @hitstick567 That's awesome that you can your dad can enjoy fly fishing together. I usually use mayfly patterns for trout not too much for bluegill. I might try it though. Elk Hair Caddis work great for bluegirll.

  • @hitstick567 Yeah we live in the south and its really fun

  • 3casts_3fish_3likes lol

  • This is a great video! Guy knows what he's doing. I love seeing him doing the "line's around my ankles" hippity-hop. All fly anglers share that experience. :-)

  • @rrhyne56 Thanks for the comment, the line around the feet is one of my favorite parts. That happens to me a lot when trying to do long casts on a boat. I sometimes step on the line and my cast only goes about 10 ft.

  • @Kev2380 u sure cant beat fly fishing them aggressive bream exspeacily if theyre hitting willow fly on the tennessee river

  • @Kev2380 Is this an underwater fly? If so, how can you tell when they strike the fly?

  • @AndrewAndHisPotatoes the fly I was using was a dry. So it sits on top and doesn't go under the surface. If I do use a fly that goes under the water I used an indicator of some kind. Either another fly or a thingamabobber. If you don't use an indicator you just have to watch you fly line and look for any thing that is out of the norm. It's hard to tell a lot of time when fish hit. Using a floating fly line makes this a little easier but still it is hard to tell.

  • @Kev2380 Awesome thanks for the help

  • Everyone has fun fishing for bluegill. It is just plain fun no matter what lol

  • When fishing with a strike indicator what flies would you use?

  • @FishingKing754 If I use an indicator at all it will be a popper or a high floating pattern like a hopper pattern. The flies I drop off of that are a bead head hairs ear or flash back pheasant tail. If you google those, you will see what thye look like. Basically anything small with some flash will work. You can also try small rubber legged patterns like a copper john with rubber legs. If you can't tell be now I'm a big fan of rubber legs. I'm going to do another video this weekend.

  • i catch little brim in my creek with a trout fly

  • @TheFishingmonster Brim will hit almost anything. Even flies that are too big for them. My best luck has been with small flies that have rubber legs. If the fish are hanging deep I use hairs ear or something with flash. Bead headed flies work.

  • @TheFishingmonster thx for the advise

  • ya i have a topwater spider and a lot of them would come up on the surface and hit it but i think it was to big

  • ok thanks i just started fly fishing about a year ago and the only fish i caught on a fly was a nice trout now im hooked on bluegill i live next to the stanislaus and schools of bluegill come by in the morning but small bass take over and eat my fly i usually use this guppie fly its pretty cool looking

  • @Missteesa If you go to walmart and look in the bass tackle, you'll see Mepps Poppers. They have foam heads and rubber legs with some feathers for a tail. They are pretty cheap and work well for bass or bluegill.

  • what fly are you using

  • @Missteesa It was a small popper fly with rubber legs. You can get them at walmart. I think they're made by Mepps.

  • @Kev2380 ok thanks i just started fly fishing a year ago and the only fish i caught were small bass and a nice trout and now im hooked on bluegill i live next to the stanislaus and in the morning schools of bass and bluegill come by and i use this small fly it looks like a guppie and theres a lot of those there and they just hit it and never take it and the water is very clear so i see them bite it what do i do my

retrieve is just short stripping my line

  • i put a piece of tape on my finger so that i dont get burnt when im stripping line in when i have a fish on,just a tip

  • A Redington Clearwater. Nothing special. Probably the lowest model they redington has.
