i remember being at a restaurant the day after this aired, next to me was a group of females talking about how ugly and bad performance Celine had on this day. I turned over and said to them. @tristanrandall23 I say it about the cellphone,internet etc. how did people cope before those things ? It is no more than about 10-15 years or so since musicians started to use those ear monitors. I think they delivered a fine live performances before that and in fact some artists just can't sing with it.

The earpiece is something nearly all artist wear when performing in a huge stadium or concert hall. Singers have to be able to hear themselves to be able to sing the song correctly. With the loud crowd and music so loud all around them they are not able to hear themselves to sing on the correct key or pitch. Lots of times it will cause singers to go flat and sharp if they can't hear themselves. Celine is such a professional that even though her earpiece wasn't working she worked it out!
