after watching the whole 2 part, i have to say it's boring as hell. the only part which is a bit interesting is when phil confront those scammer but even that is a big dissappointment. i was expecting something more then that after more then 1.5 hour watching.
@EnemyAce88 She wanted to talk to Dr. Phil because she felt her marriage had a problem...
...it DOES, she talks too much and the husband would like to say something occasionally, but he is too polite to interupt and is waiting for her to finish...
Holy crap, vigilante TV. You mean the police were never involved? If you know someone is committing crimes, aren't you obliged to turn them in? Or then aren't you complicit after the fact? By turning the scammers in after confronting them, they also gave them time to fly the coup.
This kind of crime does not involve the police unless they had gotten violent. This is the kind of crime where what you do is you sue them. Which is exactly what Dr. Phil did. The police don't arrest scammers. You take it to court, show them evidence, then they can get arrested.
WRONG!! There are laws against scamming people in every state. I have known of at least a dozen people who have been arrested for various types of scams. The cops went to their house, arrested them, and took them to jail. A huge scam like this is generally taken to the attorney general of the states that the victims live in, and they work with the police in the area where the scammers are. They can ALSO be held responsible civilly for the monies they gained from their illegal activity.
Guess it depends on the police where you live because I have also known people who have gotten scammed and the police told them they couldn't do anything without proof and told them they needed to press charges. Dr. Phil did get proof and pressed charges so these people still got in trouble, but not all police in every place is the same.
You always have to have proof. It can be a canceled check, a receipt, etc. And if you don't press charges, there isn't anything they can do. That's your responsibility as a citizen is that if someone scams you, you press charges against them.
I've got a few friends that have been scammed by a lady online, and they have printed out the emails, taken screenshots and printed them out, etc and taken them to the police, who are investigating the issues now.
I know that, tell that to the person that told me I was wrong when that's what I said haha. I was just saying mabye it's different in case the cops in that persons town are different. Or they may not even have been telling the truth, that's always a possibility. But if they were I was saying mabye in their town it's different.
They were probably just shooting shit out of their mouth. You know how some people are : they just like to run their mouths about shit that they don't know anything about.
But, yeah, scammers are held much more liable for what they do than they used to be. And they will lay every charge on them they can. We had a guy arrested around here for fraud, and they not only got him on the multiple fraud charges, but improper use of a phone and other charges. He got a LONG sentence.
horrible women, i hope they do get prosecuted, and i hope people see this and never ever send money through western union to any business, always use something like a credit card, so youve got somewhere to go to claim your money back, theres alotta scummy people out there dying to get their hands on your hard earned cash.
i know i'm not a doctor. but i am faster than a speeding turtle, able to leap tall grass in a single bound, and can kill a fly or more in a single blow.
