  • dude you're just awesome..cant get enough of your guitar+your voice!! almost better than jj cale :D

  • @LongBasti Thanks very much.

  • hey, this sounds great! nice job!

  • How do you like the rolling capo? How can you easily play a 1st position B7? That's the reason I've held off...

  • Very tasteful guitar playing from you , Sir .

Love it , fantastic , remarkable voice anyway..

Let the good times roll .

  • @Omiewise65 Thank you very much :-)

  • nice

  • nice pickin, just discovered this song and came across your version, very good! Good key for you.

  • Dang this song is soooo nice! Nice playing and thnx for a great post !!! JJ Cale is the man..!!!

    Regards from Arnt in Norway

  • @MrFyrverkeri Thanks very much, Arnt :o)

  • Thank you, Sir.

    I loved it.

  • @FDM4BGE Cheers :o)

  • Thanks for posting !

Such a great song and your rendition is the best here but I'm struggling to follow the fast changes after the Em ....how about a slowed down version ???

  • After the Em, the chords are basically G-D-G-C-G -D-G, but they're 'incomplete' chords and the D's are played with a F# in the bass and only a little flick on the 2nd string, 3rd fret. At the end you also hammer-on pull-off the 3rd string 2nd fret and play the 3rd string third fret. Hope this helps.

  • Thank you that's of great help. Now just need to put in the time now to make it flow .

    Much appreciated !

  • @LiteGauge

Thanks for your help . I did a search and found a tab but when I compared it to your video it seems wrong . If you get a second and can be bothered have a look at this and tell me what you think.

Its on Ultimate guitar Tabs . I tried to post with the link but it seems its not allowed.

Better still tab yours and I'll buy you a few beers ;-)

  • @daveburnham The one on Ultimate looks pretty close to me. I tend to play the F# in the bass over the D chord. This maybe closer to what JJ Cale is actually playing. I've been playing this for so long, I've probably changed it quite a lot.

  • @LiteGauge Thanks again ...I'll keep at it . I owe you a beer .

  • @daveburnham Sounds like a great idea - it's getting hot here ;o)

  • Hi, I swear one month years ago about it and I do it about like you but as for you the problem is to find the vocal range. After that I make the non sung part beginning with the B7 chord Em twice and for the sung part a very fast kind of fingerpicking tjat fits better with the singing. Anyway bravo !

  • I think it is your very best one.

    Chapeau !!!!!

  • Thanks very much !

  • really nice guitar play.. respect..

    echt nett!!

  • Thanks :)

  • awesome cover man, you really did it justice

  • Thanks very much :)

  • Great! You topped yourself. :)

    Crowned with stars...

And went directly to my favourites.

Some weeks ago I saw a documentary on TV about JJ Cale, but I can't record it. :(

  • Thanks very much, Gari :)

  • i like jj but don't know this song-sounds real good though and nicely done john 5*****

  • Thanks, Steve. As far as I know it's one of the few solo acoustic songs that he plays. It was on Grasshopper.
