  • Ny hero is my mom

  • Read Joseph Campbell; he talks about why we create these mythologized heroes in our cultures, and our need of them...they are more archetypal. It's part of human DNA in the collective unconscious. I appreciate your ability to see the often unsung heroes in every day life.

  • discipleofhoudini-

Aside from the fact that your e-mail is just complete racist filth, I find your allegience towards Hitler amusing- considering that Houdini was Jewish. Interesting you didn't know this.

As his disciple, Hitler would have halled you off to the camps right along with Houdini...

  • Well said! i love your voice btw :)

  • I like the way you spoke about the topic. Great delivery.

  • My heroes are the troops in Iraq

  • I agree totattly we dont admire those around us that mold and teach us and the creator God and Jesus Christ who died for our sins and with that Live by the word To truly love one another How wonderful would the world be then God Bless

  • Excellent points. You're right it's amazing how many people choose athletes or mythical figures as hero. It's also a fine line between people you simply admire and those you might idolize. It's an interesting semantics question. Peace.

  • There's hero all around us. for they do great things. But there's one hero that stands above them all and his name is Jesus Christ. Jesus died so we can live and all those who believe will ever see death. That's my hero. Hopefully I'll see you in heaven

  • Great blog man. I know how hard it is to sit in front of the camera and just speak from the heart. as far as what your saying very true, if more people actually considered those close around them as heroes and looked up to them and strived to be like them then maybe we'd have a much better society!

  • Much agreed on what you said...Personally my faviort hero is Atticus Fintch from "To Kill a Mockingbird" That guy stood up for everything that he thought to be right.

  • nice video

  • your gay stop talking

  • Wouldn't this be better with a cup of coffee?

  • My hero is Wilfred Brimley. True Gangsta.

  • my son is a hero

he threw his surfboard off of a bridge to rescue a woman who had attempted suicide by jumping off of the bridge.

  • my heros teddyruckspin hes got a cousin named mohammed

  • I like the way you think. It is always good to look up to your grandmother and such people that are always there for you. When you admire these people you become like them and you'll carry these good traits with you and be a good person yourself. They are the true superhero's and will be the reason you'll be a superhero to someone too.

  • hey watch my daily interesting factual video diary

  • this video really made me think damn, what a corny video

  • This video really made me think (note to self: think more). In all seriousness, my hero is Ron Paul. He can't turn back time entirely, but I believe that as president he would drastically restore America. Ron is one of the few politicians left who truly cares about serving the nation, not just selfishly controlling it. It's sad that we live in a time when a presidential hopeful who promotes liberty and the constitution is considered radical. Thanks for the thoughtful update, Daniel!

  • All Heroes have flaws. I guess I have never realy percived anyone as a hero to me because I have never really been able to look past their flaws and get down to exactly how they effect me. Thanks for posting and making me refelct on just who is a hero to me.

  • Thank you for your videos. Everytime I find I am in a position to make major decisions about my direction you are there at the right time. This is awesome. I have only accessed youtube a few times. Thanks

  • Basically you restricted heros to either someone from a comic book or within the family. But think outside the box, heroes are everywhere. David Schwimmer could be some kid's hero, I don't know why, but he could be.

  • Refreshing video in times of politics and crime and sex etc. I don't "believe" in hero's, so to speak, but I do in people we strongly admire. My sister is not only my hero, but I know MANY, MANY others, look up to her and admire her strong moral values and her unconditional love for ALL. She is a truly gifted individual who warms all who meet and know her.

  • What's wrong with sex??

  • Sure, my parents will always be my heros, but fictional characters make good heros, too, since its not just about using their powers, but teaching a lesson.

  • I mean you no offense or any one else but heroes are point less the only way we can move forward is if we make our way if life ourselves

  • Daniel,

I always enjoy your commentary. You are very correct. If we look inside ourselves we can use our God given ability to the fullest. That is a hero!!! great job!!!!

  • Sometimes I ask people what super power they actually have. Among the answers I've received:

-The ability to cook rice perfectly every time

-The ability to identify any make of car or breed of dog on the spot

-The ability to start 1,000 projects at once

-On occasion, the ability to let someone know, it's OK.

    What's yours, Daniel?

  • I never really had any heroes when I was younger. I never really understood the concept. Sure, there are people I admire, but I've never really admired one person for any great length of time. I admire humanity. The universe is my hero. If I could choose to have special powers it would be to be fully conscious.
