Mate Im sorry to say but you talk a load of shit. I dont beleive you have ever had anything to do with Australian Cattle Dogs or the training of them. I have had them aoll my life and worked cattle in the yard as well as in the open. There is no way anyone can select a good working dog based on the pup. Its in their genes and they are only trined by someone who knows how to train them. But then again what would you know about Australia, you are an American right Mate!!! hahhahahah
I've just got my 2nd Smithfield recently. As I sadly lost my old girl 1 year ago today (Anzac Day, a real Australian had again fallen).
My old girl was almost 19 human years old,(A Very Good Age for Smithfield's. Although I have heard of 1 still living at 22.
In the time that I have had dogs. I would say that they would be the VERY BEST dog that any man or family could have. As they are Extremely Intelligent(as they have a hunger to learn from a Very young age & never stop learning until the da
Either way, Rotts and ACDs are two amazing breeds...I for one favor the ACD though :D just search for "world's smartest dog" and you'll probably see a video of a ACD from Texas named 'Skidboot'....enjoy!
australian cattle dogs aren't just bred to herd sheep, you should get your facts straight. I have seen many cattle dogs work with cattle and horses and they do just what they are supposed to when asked.
well sorry but a rottweiler used to be bred for herding/pushing cattle sheep and other animals. and australians in my opinion are no good for cattle since most cattle are pushed and austrailians are bred to herd sheep which bring them towards you. I have never in my life seen a good australian and i have seen a lot of dogs work.
You must be an American & a dingbat. You are talking from your arse. The Australian Sheep Dog is Kelpie & breed from the dingo as well as the Cattle Dog. I have owned & worked more then 10 of them & now live in Sydney & own the son of the Australian Champion 2 years running. The problem on here is people like you get on here with a load of shit and people end up believing it. How many years have you worked cattle with dogs I would ask. Google up the Australian Cattle Dog & get your facts
@wickedheeler You must not look into many dogs then because I have seen and know many Australian dogs to win national championships with herding other working breed sports. Look outside the box
Well my friend I have had cattle dogs all my life at present I have the son of the Australian champion 2 years running. Without sound rude you have no idea about the breed and only people who dont know anything will think you are an expert. I suggest you actually associate yourself with a real one and then come back and talk. Here you are talking about a cattle dog and you are holding a Rottweiler thats like trying to sell a Ford and you are driving a Mazda U want fact let me tell you them
