but now after looking at the trap speeds, this can't be 1/8 mile or something is retarded because I was trapping at 83 mph on my 1/8 mile at 8.5 when I ran low boost on my stang and the left stang only reached 69 mph at a 7.8 et. Hmmm... must be a 1/10 mile. At 7.3, he should be trapping close to 100 mph.

i'm a mustang man, but i'm not ignorant enough to say camaros are shit... A car that has more horsepower potential than a modified supercharged cobra without nitrous or a supercharger is not shit. And I just looked on a 1/8 mile to 1/4 mile conversion chart and a 7.8 converts to 12.17 1/4 mile. How many of you haters have a car that can run a 12.17 1/4 mile or even close with a street car? I respect any street car running 12's or lower without slicks. My stang now runs high 12s on an automatic.

Camaros are pretty lame to me, I mean, I love any car as long as it goes fast, but in my opinion, I hate Chev cars, and Mustangs, because they're way too common and fill up car shows with duplicates of duplicates. But thats just an opinion coming from a BOP person. You can't really convert 1/8 to 1/4 very well seeing as there are to many variables. And yes, I do have cars that can/will do 12's on street tires and full interior

your right on 1/8 to 1/4 mile conversion as they even tell you factors can change it but believe me they won't be drastic changes. such as a 4.10 gear can make someone zip through the 1/8 but won't be as great on a 1/4 but you're only talking 1/10 or 2/10's of a second difference, not 1 or 2 second difference. And yes, camaros are lame to me too but I respect the motor and strong camaros are not common. Go look at how many camaro ss stick shifts were actually produced. not many...

Drag racing is not just "hit the gas and switch gears" even though you say so. With extremely powerful cars, if you just "hit the gas" it's gonna stay there and burn rubber and your opponent cruises into victory. Or if you change gear when your engine overrevs you're gonna lose valuable time.

There's more into drag racing than meets the eye.

Depends on the specific models, in general Saleens look a little nicer and Roushes move a little faster and corner a little better. That should not be meant to infer that Saleens are necessarily lacking in that category, however.

no, they have 500, they dynoed at mid 440 hp to the wheels. read you facts before you speak.ford cannot over rate cars after the 99 cobra's problems. they tried to claim 475 but SAE, told them to claim 500 since dyno numbers were in the mid 440's.unless they have a real efficient drive train under 17% they pump 500 to the crank.

saleen is a better built car, roush don't really mess with mustang internals. the E-s281 has forged internals and cylinders heads are replaced for more air flow. thats why they are 75,000 dollars.

roush mustangs stage 1 ground kit and rims, stage 2 same thing with a handling package, stage 3 has the same stuff but with a superchager pushing 415hp and then the roush blackjack pushing 430hp or the 427r pushing 415 hp....Now you got tree stages of saleen first we have the plain saleen with ground mods and so on with 335hp, then theres the saleen s281 supercharged with 465hp and last but not least we got thesaleen s281 extreme 550 gut wrenching horse power now who's the big dog in the fight

Um no, the Mach 1 is not supercharged, and neither are all cobras. A Mach 1 is a 32 valve V8 engine with a shaker scoop air intake. It pushes about 310 ponies. The 2003+ Cobras are supercharged.

the saleen, mach 1, roush stage 3, and cobra are all supercharged and push 320 hp out of a 4.6l V8.. the other things may be suspension or factory engine mods.. as far as i can tell, everyone of those mustangs haul ass.. now if u get the shelby gt500, u get a 5.4l V8 from the ford gt, with the exception of the material from which the block is made of

I'm not the expert when it comes to modified Mustangs. I just know what my friend had on that Stage 2 Roush(just cosmetics). He added exhaust, headers, intake, pulley, and full complete suspension change. That saleen was just off the showroom and supercharged. Cobra is supercharged what I couldn't tell you the differences in hp/tq.

They are all different because there a ton of options you can order. As a general rule though:

Stage 2 is ground effects, Bilstein suspension with subframe connectors, sway bars, camber plates, wheels/tires, Roush CAI, and Magnaflow exhaust with Roush side exhaust, and the computer may also be tuned.

Stage 3 is supercharged.

The Stage 2 is quoted at 260HP at the crank but it's only to keep insurance rates at regular mustang Gt levels. An estimate by a Roush employee gave a figure of 314hp.
