I remember wanting see these guys at first ave in their hometown. I was too young though. Still one kick ass speed metal bands of the day. This album is really good and stood its ground in the ranks of the successful titans.
@Bassbait The singer is, as is the bassist...xD The lead guitarist is hardly visible but I'm sure he is too. Anyways, I don't know how these guys never got big, they sound incredible, and they certainly seemed to have been on the way, they were in a movie and this video doesn't seem to be exactly low-quality. Did they just break up or what?
@enix165 90's hit, and every thrash band deteriorated. The 90's was a bad period for thrash, as it branched off into crappy pop metal and extreme Death Metal. Only a few bands, such as Sadus and Testament, were able to continue throughout the 90's without becoming horrible. Powermad probably quit because of personal or touring complications, but they're back together. The late 80's was a period where anybody could get popular from Thrash, but The Black Album ruined that for a LONG time.
Lol you hate him because he did your girlfriend haha !! and this band has elements of thrash and heavy metal , quit trying to break the gods of metal into these buttlover new age genra's ... they dont fit !! this band was a great find in the 80's and was truely one of the greatest unsought bands of the era.
As for thrash anthrax and suciadal tendancies were thrash !! Dont mix them up !! lousy modern moron music critics !!!
Great band, but for some reason when I see the singers face, I feel like punching it, not sure why but I do, must remind me of someone I hate I guess lol.
NOTE: Most bands on Metal Blade Records with parent labels like Enigma and Restless were always US heavy/power metal bands. The entire catalog of Lizzy Borden's albums of the 80's, Helstar, OMEN, Fates Warning, Liege Lord's Master Control, Heretic's Breaking Point, etc, etc.
@banatwarriors Powermad is definitely thrash metal. If you haven't listen to their album "Absolute Power" how can you be so sure then? This band is so much thrash you can get. Bands like Heretic, Agent Steel, Metal Church is not thrash metal like someone are saying. Heretic is your typical US power metal, Agent Steel is the classic of melodic speed and Metal Church had some thrash influences on their first album but in general they are a heavy metal band with speed/power elements.
@banatwarriors listen to terminator by this band trust me they are thrash my friend ive been listening to thrash since the early eighties and this band is an unknown jem!!
This is probably their most melodic song, but its got that catchy melody and the musicianship is soo damn tight. But I recommend anyone that is not familiar with them to checkout 3 songs from the same album, "Brainstorms" , "Return from Fear" and "Final Frontier", I wouldnt call them "Power" Thrash but "Tech-Thrash", those songs were WAAAAY ahead of their time :D They WERE working on a new album but their MYspace page sadly seems abandoned :(
Reminds me of staying up with anticipation for Headbangers ball. You had to get through the shit like poison and Bon anchovi until you got to the late hour gem's like this.It was always nice to see Nuclear Assault and VoiVod too.
@blitzspeer this and bon jovi for me comparing to new music is the same, hard'n'heavy music at it's best, take "hear" around nowdays and you'll see that i'm right, naturally i'm talking of old bon jovi...
I remember when i first heard this band back in 1994, man i was preaching everyone about this in my town. This is for me one of the best bands i ever heard! It's absurd and strange how this world works, you have Metallica who are mega popular and on the other hand Powermad who are eons better than them but yet unknown, sad!
Still got this album on cassette tape. this was my favorite song on it. it was interesting to me to have this album when it first came out and my english teacher taught us about machcavellian's "power corrupts but absolute power corrupts absolutely." thats exactly whats happening with our pathetic ass gov't. 2010...
I'll always remember them for this song/video and for appearing in "Wild At Heart" with Nicolas Cage & Laura Dern. Such a messed up movie...perfect for this band to associate itself with!
