  • Um you see chief what had happened was........ That was great.

  • Wow we need a engine like that ours seems to get stuck way to easy !

  • thats a 1st!!!!!!!!

  • Dear cheif...

  • rednecks beer mud and a firetruck. A bad but fun combination

  • @irishfireguy Sounds like montana lol

  • HME

  • U CANT FUCK WITH A FIRE TRUCK HAHA

  • Haha I'm a volunteer with this department and this engine has been through worse. You all saying this is stupid and uncalled for should see the driveways we take this baby through in the wintertime. Little mudbog is nothing :P

  • @mgaines364 THAT WAS AWESOME!!

  • Very professional dept...... uncalled for..

  • @wildfire2592 How is that unprofessional? We are human just like everyone else, and we like to have fun just like everyone else. And if the truck didnt make it through, the pit wasnt very deep. I'm sure there were dozens of guys there with trucks to pull them back out if they had a call to go to. Keep in mind that most of rural America is still protected by volunteers, not "paid professionals" with a Holier Than Thou attitude and a rule book stuck up their butts, lighten up.

  • @medlife07 It is unprofessional due to the fact that the engine is paid for with tax payer money so, its not Billy Bob's to take out on the weekend for a fun run in the mud bog.. And I didn't say a thing about volunteers vs paid volunteers are great.

  • @wildfire2592 Ahh, thats understandable. But it seems, from the description, that its the tax payers asking/challenging them, to do it. I'm sure thats the only reason why they went through with it.

  • Very professional dept...... uncalled for

  • Looking at the age of that truck, I deffinantly think that it's not a primary truck, maybe for mutual aid, but, really, nothing wrong with us having fun.

  • ...dumber than dogshit.

  • thats bad ass. my old station had a duece and a half for a brush truck... sadly the thing barely runs but it wuld go through that without a problem haah

  • Then there isnt anything wrong with doing this. Since its amusing kids, its ok, right? But since this is amusing mostly adults, its not. Thats basically what youre saying. Im a mechanic too, and its my assumption that these trucks are designed to take abuse. This kind or or not.

I dont see how its different if it breaks while entertaining someone or while on an actual mission. Mine, as well as your tax dollars pay for it. Id rather get some form of return, even if it is this, out of it.

  • Expose the apparatus to needless stress and possibly break something?

    Stupid.

    Fire apparatus ain'toys.

Then have to clean the mud out.

And if wheels ain't completely cleaned, unbalanced wheels.

  • @robertgift

You sir, are an idiot. Youre probably the type that drives a fuckin Prius and bitches at your neighbor for having a loud truck. Quit hating on some fun.

  • @rainingblood1488 I'm a firefighter and mechanic.

You don't expose apparatus to needless stress and risk of breaking something.

You take an apparatus out of service for needless, COSTLY, repair and someone couldie or greater fire destruction due to a delayed response.

These aren'toys for the amusement of simpletons.

You are correct: We have a Toyota Camry Hybrid, '05 Corolla and '08 Expedition.

  • @robertgift

I dont see how this is some outrageous stress...what if the fire was in the backwoods somewhere and the only way to it was a muddy ass drive way? This just proves that the truck can make it. It was more or less a field test as well as amusement. If these vehicles arent toys for amusement, then why do they turn the lights and sirens on for kids and let them climb all up in them? Thats totally unnecessary...what if a light burns out and makes it less visible while showing it off?

  • @rainingblood1488 Different if you break your firengine on an actual mission.

Nothing wrong with operating lights and siren for children.

Leaving lights on at fire scenes whenot needed is the big waste. More wear and tear from thathan from runs.

Light companies love the ridiculous practice because you wear outheir equipment, bulbs, strobes, etc. and buy expensive replacement parts more often.

  • @robertgift if a broken strobe is the wost that can go wrong while a scene i guess im perfectly ok with that

  • Comment removed

  • @LFDFireFighter18 Why have the lights flashing while parked at a scene? (Unless on a highway or interstate.

Then besto use a FEW lights FLASHING - not strobes or 360s - whose short blinks cause problems for motorists. ON-one-second /OFF-one-second flashes do not cause visual difficulties.)

I have replaced more lamps and tubes which probably used up 90% of their life needlessly operating when the vehicle was parked. Federal Signaloveselling expen$ive replacement lamps and strobes.

  • @robertgift with all honesty idc what a fire truck has for lights on it long as it moves traffic but i think trucks should have the chevrons on the back and shut off the lights while at a car accident or something on the road it seems like passing motorists see the lights and get retarded and dont pay attention maybe it might limit this idk just a thought i tihnk we should keep them on while at a structure fire ect

  • @LFDFireFighter18 Chevrons is a great idea which I had suggested years ago. I saw them on railroad locomotives but was told they 'd be ugly on fire apparatus.

Emergency services are working on limiting flashing lights at scenes. They should turn off strobes and 360s and similar LED lights and have only flashing lights.

Why have all the lights on at fire scenes? Just makes seeing more difficult. 4-way flashers would benough.

  • @robertgift my department just got a new tanker that has the chevrons on the back I love them they highly visible were working on getting all are trucks with chevrons and try limited flashing lights at scenes and see how things go

  • @rainingblood1488.... trust me dude fire engines are made to take abuse MOST fire engines that are in service are over 20 years old and still run/pump just as good as the day the are built..trust me no corners are skipped when it comes to fire apparatus lol

  • @ap13461

Thats what I was trying to partially express to the other fellow. He's just too much of a square.

  • redneck and proud!! YEE HAW!!!!!

  • Laughing my ass off... literally. Most hick'ish thing I have seen in a long, long time.

  • Just imagine if they got stuck then got a worker

  • if a firetruck can get thru the pit ... they need to add alot more water

  • Good taxpayers money at work

  • @hoopdancer417 most of the american people dont think we have anything to do so thats kinda the last thing we want to do is give them videos likes these

  • my chief would murder me if i got close to a mud bog with one of our engines our duece or f450 would be an ass woopin i couldnt emagine our engine

  • ......red necks -.-

  • HAHA NICE!!!! idk if my chief would approve tho! lol

  • diesel power baby, diesel power

  • LOVE IT!!!!

  • There goes the tax payers dollars :)

  • @TheJimineycricket haha i dont mind our tax money going to that...thats bad A.

  • my cheif would have killed us lol but on the flip side thats good muddin

  • I wish they would've shown the Chief yelling at the Engineer for doing this lol I think that would've been a funnier video

  • @moporama < The chief was driving...

  • I bet that the Probies at that station got madder than the Chief did. LOL

  • awesome, now if I can convince my chief to let me do that

  • that looks like fun

  • f-in awesome, and no shit they have 4x4 fire trucks

  • I can hear the chief cussing now

  • All that shiny chrome. Time for probie to get to work.

  • awsome we should do that at my fd

  • so who is going to was the rig ? . lol col video .

  • sick dude LOL

  • lol :)

  • that was funny LOL very cool :)

  • wow! that was the last thing i expected to happen, him make it through! no idea they had 4x4 fire trucks

  • @Kenruckyheadhunter U kiddin? up in the pennsy backwoods thats all we got!

  • @Kenruckyheadhunter Doubthathatruck is 6WD. Would be nice for snowstorms but I don't see any evidence of it. I would never stress an apparatus and risk breaking something as they did here. These aren'toys for amusement.

  • @Kenruckyheadhunter why would they not have 4x4 fire trucks?

  • @chasegarsee1 They do have all wheel drive fire trucks buthey are very expensive and the AWD may hardly ever be used.

We have a 10WD tender (tank truck which carries 2,500 gallons).

  • the siren is the siren that fdny uses:)

  • damn, amazing, i almost bet he is empty though

  • now how would u xplan that 2 ya chief if u hada got stuck lmao

  • lol tht b funny

  • This rig is a Seagrave/FWD with 4-wheel drive. It can go anywhere and through anything and come out smelling like a rose every time...GUARANTEED!!

  • OK, it's a Seagrave 4x4 and you like it. They CAN get stuck. ANYTHING can.

  • Where those 1510's ???

  • that was kick ass

  • Funny LOL

  • man give that engineer a bud!

  • Never let the Duke boys drive your fire engine to the county fair... haha jk that was sick as hell!

  • oh no the red necks got to the emergency vehicles again lol jk nice vid

  • awesome, they could get anywhere

  • cool as hell glade i didint have to clean it

  • Thats cool as hell

  • keep that firetruck moving > for homes that are on fire! l.o.l

  • that was sweet!

  • damn i did i once in a brush trck on the side of the road durin hurricane ike end up breakin the brake bosster and the powersteering and thank goodness for warn wench

  • my department did this with a brush pick-up one time.............. we tore up the transmission, and motor the mayor and cheif were pissed

  • Oops.

  • I wonder how much gas that took. LOL

  • none, seeing that its a diesel

  • lol

  • uncalled for

  • that was sweet....my chief would kill us if we tried that with one of our engines

  • @96greenraminator yeah no shiite. ive been tempted myself. chief looks at me says, NO. dont EVEN think about it

  • thats dope!

  • What kind of mud bog was this if a fire engine makes it through??

  • Technically it's still a mud bog, that engine probably puts out double the ponies of the highest hp motor at the bog. Fire Engines have monster diesel engines. :P

  • The fire truck is probably full of water and weighs much much much more than the trucks running through. So it has traction

  • HELL YEA!!!

  • i bet the chief was PISSED lol, that or driving...my chief would definitely do the latter

  • omg thats great! looks like something us rednecks would do out in carroll county MD

  • hahaha thats something out local Volunteers would do.

  • nice seagrave classic

  • Looks like it might be a Seagrave on a FWD Company chassis and 4 wheel drive transmission

  • Exactly.

  • haha its the firefighter special olympics!!!

  • roflmao! thats awesome

  • fuckin a

  • hahahahahahah freakin awesome.

  • Two reasons why that truck passed the "mud test" with flying colors:

    1. Look carefully you'll see it has 4-wheel drive.

    2. Because it's a SEAGRAVE.

  • i agree..if it was 2WD, it would sit a LOT lower, and the way it pulled thru, that's 4x4 all the way LOL

  • At the very beginning you can see the bulge in the front axle where the drive shaft goes into it.

  • exactly..i forgot to mention that lol

  • right on

  • woo he made it i bet that was hard yea rite

  • Yeah, guessing the Chief was on vacation for the next two weeks, while you washed the underbody of the truck.

  • what if there was a fire right when the were in there, and if they got stuck?

  • thats why most towns have more then one truck

  • and it only takes 30 seconds to pull out a truck when they have tractors around

  • FWD/Seagrave apparatus are BUILT for this kind of work, or in this case, play. Think of it this way: The City of New York has a 99% Seagrave fleet and they stand up tall to their punishment and come out smelling like a rose EVERY time. 'nuff said.

  • Just because New York buys Seagrave apparatus that means it's okay to potentially destroy a $100k piece of machinery?

  • Of course not! If it was up to me *I* would certainly NOT do what these guys are doing. However I also expect this company's personnel to be totally and completely familiar with what the truck can and can't do. For all we know this truck may encounter back roads while going to calls that make this mud bog look like child's play. Now I'm not trying to justify what they're doing here, but please consider that this truck might have it that much worse while going on an emergency call.

  • don't think going through the mud at 10kms would ruin the truck, they are not driving it thought a wall or going 100kms.

  • hahha fucking hilarious

  • That was hillarious

  • FIRE tax and donation dollars. That's all the VFD's recieve

  • cool vid n all but thats a pretty damn small mud pit

  • No way would I try that with our American la France it wouldn't make it half way!

  • Nice Seagrave/FWD. The best fire truck you can get, hands down. If they're good enough to stand up to the punishment FDNY gives them, they'll stand up to anything; the proof is in the puddin'. Pierce is a good second, though. Nice video!!!

  • i wanna see an ambulance and a cop car too!! haha

  • I wonder whos ass their chief chewed on when he found out about that. I know mine would chew about 10 pounds off mine.

  • Lol, the chief and assistant chief were in the cab.

  • Wow... My chief is cool, but not that cool.

  • It's good to be chief. :)

  • @Engineer6418 Hey they got to test the trucks to see if they could get to a forest fire???

  • Ahh, nothing better than a Seagrave and a Detroit Diesel going thru the mud, now if only that was a Ward LaFrance (my favorite)

  • SEAGRAVES RULE !!!

  • damnnn this is sickk,,fire truck really kick ass

  • now thats pure badass there!

  • damn i would have thought it would not have made it at all

  • i dont think you can really call that a mudbog

  • I do not want to be the probie that washes the pure mud off this puppy..haha

  • That is a SEAGRAVE, not a PIERCE. big trucks far better in most cases. could not tell if it has automatic chains or not. but they really help

  • nice!!!! thats the best mudding vehicle i've seen so far.... i totally thought it would sink like a rock because of it's weight

  • wow, that would of been a big load of shit for them if they got stuck. good driving!

  • why was this thumbed down? I'm complimenting them on their driving skill

  • there you go i thumbs uped you

  • dude thats awesome

  • That is as good as it gets!

  • How professional.

  • Thats tells you they can get to where the fire is!

  • nice

  • ahhh fuck you, learn to have some fun

  • dude, its a seagrave, it doesnt deserve respect

  • then what does?

  • pierce all the way....

  • nice LOL way to go fire dept. savin lives and muddin... dont get much better

  • NICE hahahaha

  • NICE!!!!!! That was sick as hell...id love to do that with one of my fire trucks!!

  • My hat is off to those firemen and women was a great thing that they did by running the pit it does a great thing for our sport by them doing that

  • A hello from the Beecher Dunbar Pembine Fire Department...

  • A Hello From The BONNE TERRE Fire Dept.

  • A Hello From The Goffstown Fire Dept.

  • That is one hell of a way to test equip. Way to go on that.

    Dan

  • lol....omg dont hurt it....shit if i payed 600,000+ on a 4x4 Pumper it better be able to take a couple inches of mud.....and just to let you guys know ive taken a 4x4 pumper through Highway medians alot muddier than that and those drivetrains on those old seagrave 4x4s are bulletproof.....im a FF and a big time 4-wheeler.

  • Seagraves ARE bullet proof!!!! PERIOD!!! End of story!!! And I'm not saying that because they are my personal favorites, but because I have driven and rode on them many times and I can tell you first hand that they can take a lickin' and keep on tickin!!!

  • Boy I wish our Fire Department could do that, they have 1 4x4 rescue and 4x4 engine, we were stationed at a mud bogg event and were invited to drive the engine through the mud, but our Lt. refused. The local PD got to run there 4x4 SUV through the mud though.

  • That must have been before the pit had water in it cause that didnt seem like much mud
