  • i love that 60s Precision sound... has more punch than the 50s. I guess Will Lee also played one of them, look at watch?v=iq-NWUINRaE

  • thats a really nice bass man. i just got a brand new squire jazz bass and to be honest it sounds 10 times more phat than the real one

  • what type of strings do you use?

  • Tight, fat and down! Again, you've got it!

  • Gotta love that fat P Bass tone... Nice!

  • dude awesome playing... perfect note for note... nice!!

  • what settings do you use for that fat tone? nice cover :D

  • Don't remember specific setting on the SWR preamp. I use Tomastik flatwounds that helps fattening the sound.

  • @paoloilmonopalla94 Don't remember specific setting on the SWR preamp. I use Tomastik flatwounds that helps fattening the sound.

  • im a bass player for many years and this is solid playing...great great stuff bro..this sort of bass playing is suppose to sound like people...not too many frills,, just funk

  • jo fat this funkt

  • Amazing. The fat sound is epic too. Any chance you could tell me the tab? Cheers

  • dude 5 out of 5...such a nice tune..im trying to learn this also

  • love your tone and coolness..so relaxed !!!

  • SWEET P, if you don't mind saying, whats the year on that?

  • Tnx! It's a 1966-er.

  • sounds great!

  • Man I love this song

  • Nice...but meant to be played on a jazz...not p bass

  • Who meant? La Pread plays a P.

  • this sounds FAT! :)

  • meant? you could play it on a fekkin triangle if u wanted... there are no rules to how it's ''meant'' to be played....

god i cant stand snobbery .... its usually an indication of jealousy of some sort!!

    great tight playing dude!

  • Its so good to see someone play this the way its actually played...finger style. Every cover band I'ver ever seen the bass player is all slap happy and it's not a slapped lick.

  • OW!

  • Nothing wrong with catching an open A on this tune. You can vary the main line this way. When I used to play this live I well interpreted the line. Its funk. have fun with some 16th note variations.

  • You are using no open strings, you play everything in the fifth position?!

I found this song and there is a moment with two fast 16th-notes and then two 8th-notes on the same fret... like

    --xx x-x- and the first three notes are g-a-g as a hammer-on & pull-of (D-string, fret 5-7-5), the next 8th is a "d"... I try to play it on the 5. fret A-String.

Do you play this piece the same way? I find it hard to rush from fret 5, d-string to fret 5 a-string after that fast HO-PO on fret 5-7-5 d-string.

  • Yes, I play it that way. With a little practising you will master it. Good luck!

  • Real nice man! Keep on funking!

  • FUNK YEAH!

    owned!

  • hey man that was wicked you should try Happy Anniversary by little river band it would suit your style

  • Very good! I enjoyed it.

  • great quality, mate! i love this song, one of my favorite bass riffs ever!

  • The jacket won me over! Great playing on all your vids, by the way. :)

  • it was good. but there was no slapping =( and not much improves,it want bad it was good, but you couldve done more...

  • I just try to play as on the original: some popping, no slapping:-)

  • This is pretty cool.

  • AWESOME!!

  • I have NEVER heard a more true version than this. It was VERY well done, and the TI Flats NAILED that tone, didn't it! 5 stars only because I can't give it 10!

  • Good job on a classic ... :) nice.

  • what strings are you using??? LaBella Jamerson set???

  • Tomastik-Infeld Jazz. Flatwounds:-)

  • good boy. those are super strings. I use those too on my Ricky 4003.

    see ya next time!!!

  • Great !

I like this style of bass line .

  • Oh man, I love this song!

    And great playalong!

  • Sollllllid tone.

  • Tight as a nun's... whatever! Thanks for sharing!

  • nice to see you back again with this funky dope

  • perfect - Ronald La Pread was a great and underrated player

    ( maybe still is)

  • I gave this 5 stars for just your technical ability because I didn't care much for the tune, but that's just my taste. Thanks for sharing.
