The plot was a moron alien travels across interstellar distances just so it could use vastly superior technology to kill another species. Add to that, it would have a great deal of difficulty surviving and the wrong civilisation would lead to an interstellar war.

Theres nothing wrong with the plot IMO. It makes for a great action film. Youre entitled to your opinion but its not one I agree with.

@GameRock123 not many, its because they did it perfectly with the technology they had, from the first episode of sg1 they have what we have now, but as the years go on in the show they take tech and re-engineer it and slowly advance on the show. their are more space battles at the last few seasons of the show, another epic one is when the ori first come threw the supergate.

Would have been nice if there had been more then one Prometheus ship in the show. The Daedalus was clearly the more advanced ship but it would have been nice to see a handful of Prometheus model ships in orbit.

Heck, the US Air Force could have handed them out to other countries for diplomatic cooperation... ;)

I think they weren't sure how they were going to do the drone effect so they sent 1000's of em but as we know later they decided that a drone was much more powerful and only took 1 to do much more damage

Remember however the drones on the Timeship jumper were at least several million years more advanced than the Aincent Outpost Drones (The Aincents improved greatly on their military technology while inside the Pegasus Galaxy fighting the Wraith.)

I just think this was the first time they introduced the drones and they just over did it for visual effect.. remember the city that SGA found where they met the Protector who had the ancient gene ..they used much fewer drones and that city was as old as the earth outpost

It makes more sence as far as technology goes. The Timeship jumper only used two drones to destroy the Hatak attacking Mayborne's planet and it was built 10,000 years ago. The Aincent Outpost in Antartica was build some 10 million to 50 million years ago and as far as we know has never been up-graded by the Aincents.. Aurora Class battleships only need 20 to 40 to destroy a Wraith Cruiser and somewhere in the 200 catagory to destroy a Wraith Hive

Additionally in Vegas we witness the new drones (acquiried from the Tower I presume) destroying a ZPM powered Wraith hive ship in much fewer shots than the entire Goa'uld fleet even though that we know the hive is over 13 KM long and is powered by ZPM'(s?).

Also, because the power of the drones has been slightly inconsistent throughout the series. Remember though the outpost drones may have been older models, the Asuran's auroras had the newest models, yet their drones were much less powerful. Also, the Vegas drones successfully destroyed a normal hiveship (not ZPM one) with the same amount as an Aurora.

Man, they could have just sent a squadron of F-15's with Phoenix missiles and raped those ships.

That is my one gripe with Stargate. Our land and air forces would completely rape the Goa'uld in everything but space (and even that now with the Asgard beam weapons), but they never really showed that.

actually despite what it appeared in the supergate scene of the ark of truth the daedalus class' bridge is halfway down main deck of the ship just aft and on the same level as teh missle tubes.. you can see them in some shots from atlantis when they look out the front windows. also the window design is pretty distinctive and no matching windows exist on the tower thing.

The prometheus was destroyed in a battle with a satelitte that the Ori had told the planet that was torn into two nations to build. Daniel had be trapped on this planet earlier in the series, but escaped thanks to a small military faction and SG-1. Anyway, Colonel Lionel is onboard the Prometheus when it explodes, but the rest of the crew was beamed to the surface, where they met up with eachother and eventually saved that planet..again.

i downloaded 'Im Too DVD Ripper 4' from Bitcomet. that allows me to rip the dvd and convert it into any file i want. you can then use the file on movie maker to edit the clip you want. its how i make my videos. hope that helps
