this was my favorite show when i was a kid! it always aired in the late afternoon in the philippines where i lived back then and it usually gets dark around that time: the perfect time to watch Are You Afraid of the Dark. Like most Canadian kids with a TV, I watched this as a kid. A few things to note: Obviously that's the guy from American Pie. The guy who plays "Gary" is now an anchor for The Weather Network here in Canada. Finally, that sports team for the school is the Sudbury Wolves logo.

Nick and Disney definately need to put shows like this back on the air. This, goosebumps, All That, Legends of the Hidden Temple, Kennan and Kel, and most of the other shows of the 90's are Sooooo much better than most of the stuff that's on TV now. If i were in charge at either of those networks I'd bring these shows back and revamp em' so they'd apply to today's kids and teens. If nick or disney did that they'd absolutely dominate the ratings!!! Even grown-ups would watch these shows.

@David25866 Great question! I did some research and it appears that Goosebumps came out with this story(Say cheese and Die) about 1 month before are you afraid of the dark! However, since the episode was 4th in the series, it was most likely filmed prior to the release of "Say cheese and Die"

It would be quite a coincidence that both were released so close together without sharing a any sort of connection. However, both these stories appear to be inspired by the twilight zone's "Unusual camera"

I remember one where there are two siblings, and the guy sees a girl and he finds out the girl died in an accident...then the sister tells him it was his girlfriend and he was a ghost, he died in the accident too and the sister was the only one who could see him.

It's disturbing if you think about it, but the last scene when he walks away with the girlfriend and leaves his sister made me cry everytime!!! (I was like 7 back then lol)
