  • PyckledPyrate, you are right, and the concert appeared on TV, I saw it on PBS as a special, I think. Anyway, at the end of the concert among the credits, the concert was dedicated to Fingers Taylor, but that line does not appear in the credits on the Sony VHS tape released after the concert. Fingers Taylor appeared on stage and played.

Great concert, and this was the first time I heard this song.

  • Does the Marine Stadium still exists?

  • Turtle Cove, Provo, Turks and Caicos. That's one particular harbor.

  • i guess for a while in the 80s buffet and his band were on blow. wasted away in cocaineville!

  • Does anyone know where or when this concert was recorded? Is it even available still?? I used To have it back in the early 90's But it was recorded on a VHS tape back then for me so I dont know what what it was called but my youngest daughter would only dance to "Lets Get Drunk And Screw"

  • @sandysett Live By The Bay @ Miami Marine Stadium 1985. Doesn't appear to be available on DVD. Used VHS and LaserDisc are out there however.

  • @waltersfield I believe that's Mac MacAnally, but I am not positive..

  • @waltersfield I stand corrected. I was watching some of JD Southers stuff from this same era, and yep..I would say that was him. I had seen Jimmy many times in the 80's and early 90's, but never realized JD appeared with them. Nice bibs.LOL!

  • Oh my God! I was at this concert! Miami Marine Stadium! Woo-hoo!

  • I want this video on BluRay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • OMG! Is that Peter Mayer with short hair? Holy cow!

  • This was filmed in 1985, three years before Mayer joined. Actually, Mayer didn't so much as join, but his band, The PM Band, from Cincinatti became the Coral Reefer band. This lineup of Leo, Schmidt, Taylor, Betton, Malamed and Utley is Buffett's best band and was his most prolific era.

  • Your comments are inaccurate. The Coral Reefer Band goes back to the "Son of a Son of a Sailor" era in the '70's. Michael Utley, Greg "Fingers" Taylor and those guys had already been around, broke up, and rejoined the band by the time this video was cut.

  • That is Timothy B....former Coral Reefer bassist and now Eagle and Robert Greenidge on the pans.

  • i want to make love to this video...

  • maybe one day ill be able to talk about the good times down in the carribean sunshine lol

  • scabies?

  • Those pans blow me away every time. I bought one in Jamaica but never mastered it.

  • Is that Timothy B. Schmit, from The Eagles, playing bass? It's hard to tell without his long hair lol

  • I LOVE JIMMY! FINS UP PARROTHEADS! :) im going to the concert in tampa. wow i wish i could've seen him in the 80s.

  • Ooops, I just looked it from "Live By the Bay" in 1985

  • This is from the video "You had to be there". You can't find it on DVD, but I got it on a laser disc.

  • where was this concert? so many of his videos come form it.

  • Man that guy can play the pans!

  • Comment removed

  • You're obviously not a musician because they are often referred to as "pans"

  • That's hysterical.

  • I went to Florida in 1988 with some grade school friends and we were twenty some.....it wasn't until we listened to the 1976 live tapes all the way home that I finally heard jIMMY....

  • I have loved Jimmy B. for many years, he's always a trip to hear and even better experiance his "party"!

  • Yes it is Timothy B. Schmidt of the Eagles And was filled at the Coconut Grove in Miami, and yes it is a great video.

  • Wow I would never have noticed that. Good observation. He sure DOES look different.

  • I used to have this concert video..I believe it was at the Miami Marine Stadium. BTW, IS the bass player Timothy B Schmidt of the Eagles? If is, he sure looks different with short hair.

  • Yep, tht is Timothy B. Schmit!!!!!

  • @holycow1972 Timothy B. Schmit of the Eagles??

  • @Southernborn761

    The same.

  • @holycow1972 Jimmy got his big break opening for the Eagles on the Hotel California tour, show was in Miami marine stadium, stage is an island and it was 1984 or 85 memory fuzzy, but I was there on a tube floating in the water. Great show!!!!!

  • Man, this has got to be in my top 10 songs of all time. It makes me feel like a little kid every time I hear it. I've always wondered what the lyrics to the chorus meant.

  • Nature lives (life to nature)

    Have pity for the Earth

    (Love the Earth)

  • Of course I love the Earth.

Its where i keep all my stuff.

  • We are the people our parents warned us about.

God I love Buffet and Rum!!!!111

  • seriously

    lol

    what could be better

    maybe weed and phish

but id rather have Captain Morgan and JB

  • I do agree but buffett is also good with and without rum. Phish is not so hot without weed

  • ya true that

  • is not buffet but buffett ok

  • ya it is

  • All hail Jimmy Buffett. Truly one of the most underrated songwriters of all time. And WOW -- What an amazing preformer!!

I've noted several times that no live recording can do the magic of a Jimmy Buffett concert justice and I'm sticking to it. However, this video is awesome!!
